But am a bit confused right now...I enquired about d cost @ ISPON and I was told #45,500(quite expensive for a corp member). But Novelle does it @ #18,500...But my fear is HOW ACCEPTABLE IS A CERTIFICATE FROM NOVELLE AND CO?....

Shola is with the Lagos State Ministry of Environment and Olanipekun is with PPMC Kaduna. I was not opportuned because I was serving in Kebbi and they did have a centre where I serve. Their certs are directly from UK, this is what i heard.

HSE is a good career choice,but it's a tough course that requires rigorous study.
Am presently writing the Nebosh IGC.....the center is at Hybrid consulting ltd.....at ikeja.

Friend do d Ispon first and learn the basics of HSE. It will help. THen u can go to oshatrain.org you can do courses there freeonline and later pay for your certificate depending on d format u want it shipped to U if u pass d exams or u can download materials and read them up to self develop yourself.

Start with ISPON then set ur sail from there.

Look out for a centre that is accredited by NEBOSH directly. I know that as of now only 11 training centres are directly accredited. I did mine in 2012 with one in Lagos called Novelle. Check them out on www.novellecenter.com they are accredited and they run their courses every month. They are good

Try and organise some cash and do that of ISPON. It has a dual advantage. Apart from the direct benefits of the course, it is also a prerequisite for their membership.

According to the ISPON act, all safety professionals must be on ISPON register of safety professionals. Which invariably means every safety professional must be a member of ISPON.

So even if u try to maneuver around ISPON courses now, u won't have a choice but to still do it later. So I will advise u to do it now, and then concentrate on more advanced safety courses later in your career and when u are in a better financial position.

from the thread the basic advice is to do your basic HSE training @ ispon before deciding to do IOSH or nebosh

But u work with Novelle?

They are free initially, but you have to pay for the certificate after you have successfully completed the courses.

Nobody reckons with most of the certificates issued by these consulting firms here and there. Although, you will definitely learn and gain from the courses offered by them personally.

Seriously? So you mean OSHAcademy courses are not recognized here in Naija?
