All commercial banks that use contract staff pay them peanuts

Are you for real? Talking to kids, abi...

Which bank in Nigeria pays 200k to entry level staff?
You want to perpetuate that lie...again.

Jaytea01 or warefa. Have u worked in a bank b4.if NO then delete that comment.

Why wud a contract staff be wailing that there full staff colleagues are collecting 4* there salary.
I once worked with gt and access and d former pays there entry level FS 208K and this 2 banks are not even the highest paid banks.

please lets take this matter seriously..twitter,facebook,whatsapp..spread the news..with #saynotocontractstaffing..it is killing..imagine an organisation where a graduate (b.sc) is paid 25k as a contract staff but still teaches the new recruited permanent staff (b.sc) that earns 150k plus other benefits wat the job entails...this is so unfair.... :- embarassed embarassed

I've worked with fcmb before and I was under Risk asset(loan). I know for ond is 24k but bsc and hnd is 30k. I am talking abt the DSA and I am aware that target for loan in a month is #5m and #3.5m for deposit.

Goodness! This is crazy. A degree (B.Sc) holder earning N30k. Lord please show us your mercy.

my stake after reading other peoples comment is:
before you do any of this contract jobs in bank ask your self what you really want
nobody can make you no company or bank can. you will make yourself by yourself
anywhere you find yourself.
i started banking work as a contract staff with N22,624 per month and as a marketer in 2008
was upgraded later and i earn abt N70k but today and a full staff in another bank by his grace
Hard Work pays abeg and lets stop this abuse and wht have u. and hope in God

I tink it is for DSAs. I did this work 8 yrs ago with 25k monthly salary. however I did the work for 3 months only and left because I knew I did not belong to that class of job.
3 months down the line in 2008 I got another job that paid me x10.
So believe in urself and do not do such jobs for too long. it is a waste of time even for ond talkless of bsc.
Don't complain. update urself academically and professionally. I will land a good job.
. not only ur suggestion one may even have to go to a God in prayers for God to make. Way becos with 25k a month one may constantly regret going to school

You are the ignorant one.

Were they forced to sign the contract?

Didn't they read the terms of the contract before signing?

and lastly, what is the national minimum wage?

Makes it hard to have a sound convo with ya. Or maybe you are actually weak-minded. Just bone my line and man your station unless you av something tangible to say without going personal.

This is terrible sha. But I blame graduates who have decided it's either a white collar job or nothing.
My younger sister is in the fashion business, she is constantly on the lookout for good tailors but has to go as far as togo or cotonou to get some. And those guys dictate their pay, she pays nothing less thank 60k a month, not including the compulsory accommodation you give them. She has a friend that pays hers 100k a month sef, so she's even lucky. This is in Benin o where things are relatively cheap, I don't want to imagine what these guys earn in Lagos and Abuja.
We're currently building and in the plastering stage and again all fingers pointed to the togolese/ Benin Republic guys as the best people for the job. These guys are in the range of 15 to 22 years and they take nothing less than 600k-1mn for a standard sized duplex. A job they complete in 2 weeks.
These are people who aren't even licensed to work in this country, getting more jobs and earning more than most Nigerian youths.
So until Nigerian graduates learn to think outside the box, this situation will sadly continue. Get a skill. Stop the craze for white collar jobs. As one of my lecturers used to say back then, "shit money does not smell"
This is not naturally a job for graduates but for technicians and artisans. What you should advocate for is the revamping of our technical schools so that not everyone has to go to the university especially does who are unable to gain admission into one. But A lot of us want to form big man and consider these jobs demeaning.

It's splendid that people are now waking up from their slumbers. Imagine where human beings that toiled and labored to finish from school either by a their parents as sponsors or themselves as self- sponsors now offered crumbs as wages.

I have my wife work as a contract staff for the past 3years at Federal Mortgage Bank of Nigeria and she earns #20,000 from onset till date and they are more productive than the permanent staff as in they are thee main engine room.

I support the fellow that suggested the hashtag for modern day labour on twitter to go viral so that the new elected government can work on.

It's really frustrating as she tend to spend even more than her wage fee as transport.

Enough is enough!!!
