Why Are There No Pre-colonial Opposition Figures From Odua? by Nobody: 11:59am On May 20, 2015 |
The SS and SE where a bedrock of opposition figures against British occupation with the likes of Jaja of Opobo, Nana of Itsekiri and even an OBA of Bini who was deposed and sent into exile. Why is there no such figures against British occupation from odua? Simply because the Yoruba welcomed the British to thwart the ongoing Jihad. It is from the cowardly South West that the British got a foothold into Nigeria from where they besieged Bini and spread their empire eastward and northward. Yoruba your jihad is about to restart. If you go to any major town or city in the ND you will find that prisons are located in the centre of town. Most prisons built by the British are still operational and where designated as "central" prisons. The British built their prisons at the heart of towns in the SS and SE to show for all intending dissidents the punishment that awaits them. This is similar to the Tower of London which was a notorious prison fortress overlooking London and reminding everyone who was in charge and what punishment awaits them if they forgot. The prisons in the SE and SS were meant for political dissidents while that in the South West handled sociopaths and criminals and as such were sited well away from society. Another proof that shows that yoruba were criminally inclined 10 Likes |

WombRaiders: the south west did not resist the white that much probably because they were interested in adventure or something similar. the south east hard so many autonomous communities even till date they seem to be the only ones with autonomous communities in the country. they have always been independent minded and have not stopped craving for it. WombRaiders: Odua is not the name of any region in Nigeria and they have never tried to make it a region. |

You people are so full of yourselves, but you will keep getting embarrased with facts. Here's what Harold Smith, one of the colonial officers the British Government sent to rig Nigeria’s pre-independence elections in favour of the North, had to say about Yorubas and Awolowo resistance to British rule, FROM THE HORSE'S OWN MOUTH: “But the British were not treated as gods by the Yoruba. In my experience, the Yoruba regarded themselves as superior to the British and one only had to read a book written by Awolowo, the Western leader, to know why. The Yoruba were often highly intelligent and they taunted the British with sending inferior people to Nigeria. The Igbo would be humble and avert his eyes in the presence of a European. The Yoruba child would look at an important European and shout, ‘Hello, white man,’ as if he were a freak.” 18 Likes 2 Shares |

Following a naval bombardment on December 26 and 27, 1851, motivated by Britain's desire for a share of regional trade, Lagos was brought under British gunboat influence. The opportunity for Britain to do this was partially created by a dispute between elements of the Lagos traditional ruling House (Kosoko and Akitoye). When Kosoko (who was allied with Portugal) refused to sign an anti-slave-trade treaty, he clashed with John Beecroft, British Consul for the Bights of Benin and Biafra, and Commodore Bruce, the naval task force commander. Kosoko's rival, Akitoye was installed as Oba of Lagos. He quickly signed the treaty. Egba United Government (EUG). This system of semiautonomous government existed from 1893 to 1914 specifically for the Egba of Abeokuta. The Alake (paramount chief of the Egba people) had central authority. The eight-member Egba Central Council (EUG) assisted the Alake. The council included a Muslim and a Christian chief. It is most associated with Gbadebo, the Alake from 1898 to 1920. The administration was small, numbering about 350 by 1908. Under the EUG's political authority, a prison was built, roads were constructed, and vaccinations were distributed ……In 1918, Egba autonomy ended, but not without great resistance. In June 1918, the Egba engaged in a war with the British called the Adubi War. Culled from Historical Dictionary of Nigeria, by Ann Genova and Toyin Falola 9 Likes |

hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha. it therefore mean their decendants are cowards for abandoning the cause of their for-bearers . if they ever had anything worth while to fight for, it would have continued with or without access to the crude oil in the delta, we still want our own country. japan does not have any and are doing well can we have a corroboration from another site and witness of the struggle. dont just show us some hog wash from a person who maybe reading a script or playing a role in the scheme of things. |

aguiyi: You are loser and a failure, that much I believe is obvious. You've been put to shame for being stewpid enough not to put Google to use and educate yourself adequately before embarrassing yourself by coming on this thread to spew lies. You can go ffuck yourself and your "Crude Oil". Matter of fact, you can drink that worthless piece of shytt you call oil coz it won't be worth much in the near future any way. And oh, while you're at it you can also put your money where you mouth is by relocating yourself and your entire clansmen from Nigeria territory back to your cursed erosion-infested waste-land, maybe then we'll begin take you seriously. OduaVanguard: muppet , am not the op and pls stop been stupid. we all see how your states look when we return to ours for the yuletide so stop acting like you will suddenly jump into business and start having the experience. one coward like you even asked in one thread how the biafrans will survive if the north and west refuse to sell food stuffs and livestocks to them. he eventually forgot that dubai imports most of are agricultural needs. he also forgot that the east and south share border with some other countries who are looking for export market desperately for their agricultural products. any man who abandons the cause of his forbearers is either a coward or his forbearers were cowards for having a worthless cause . which one will you and your fellow dimwits accept to be known for 3 Likes 1 Share |
