Crich: I'm sorry but you might be screwed for a bit. I'm not sure about the American system but the Canadians don't play with overstaying your visit even by 1 day. I've heard several stories of people getting banned for a couple of years for the same thing. The good news is that you are more than qualified academically. My advice is to wait and then apply for Canadian study. Bring up the issue before they ask for it and provide as much evidence (and I mean anything you can think of) as you can to show that it was an honest mistake. |

No one is claiming to be a VO here. We are all just trying to decipher in our own little way the cause of these recent delays...after all said and done, IMO the only way through to getting a TRV is soley the Grace and Favour of God! Opesyy: 6 Likes 1 Share |

Solo8: Thanks for your response. Although, I know they cross check with US database but not sure if they do for all applicants. Note: my passport is still as clean as though nothing happened. My visa wasn't cancelled. So, I'm a bit confused here, if I should come out straight and let them know, or I should just apply like nothing of such happened. |

CoCoLav:CoCoLav I see you. Well, good people of this thread, I am Male o, not Female and my moniker though sounds feminine is actually latin for Justice. As regards my denied app, I am a lawyer and am going for Master of Laws at York Uni. Its a 1yr program and my tuition alone is 33k CAD. I was denied for insufficient funds only. Getting set to refire pretty soon. Wish me grace and favour! Cheers! |

I was told by an experienced person in Canada that applying for a degree lesser than ur qualification would lead to a refusal as the consular sees u as been desperate. before applying to a programme check the minimum requirement once it an OSSD Ontario secondary school diploma which is equivalent to waec/neco don't apply either u look for an advanced diploma program or post graduate certificate course. also Canada has quota they can admit into their country every year they his look for the slightest mistake or excuse to deny so it balls down to God so lets keep praying no one is visa guaranteed. 2 Likes |

Hello guys, guess u are great.. To all the guys who were Rejected, am so sorry.. Pls be patient and try to fill all the Gaps b4 reapplying. Hopefully, u wld get ur TRV. Pls if you want to advice ppl here, pls make sure it is the Right one or STAND To BE CORRECTED like my bro Ugo. An advance Diploma is a POST SECONDARY SCHOOL program taken at any point in time of one's education (B4, during and after an undergrad program) while a post grad Diploma is Taken AFTA ur UnderGrad degree. (Source: Answer.com). Let's be careful wen we advice ppl on dier choice of study.... U can get a Trv wen u apply for advance diploma even if u av an Undergrad degree already (slim del got hers last yrs) but u wld need a strong application.. I am a lil tensed but i know we wld get good news soon. All d best guys. |

Hello, please I want to find out if anyone here applied for a PG program in Department of Chemical & Materials Engineering, University of Alberta for this fall and got a decision yet? Whether positive or negative? I applied since January and no feedback till now. I called and a lady said she was not sure if they had started responding to applicants. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by Crich(f): 5:55pm On May 20, 2015 |
justicia: Sorry, about that but congrats ahead. Pls, can u share with us the exact amount they called insufficient so we all have an idea what d VOs want |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 7 by Nobody: 6:06pm On May 20, 2015 |
SeyiMiilan: But this is the problem, in writing an Sop one f the salient points always mentioned is "why the program" and "why are you leaving the comfort of your country to study it in CA". I still believe a Diploma applicant will need to strongly convince the VOs (something most haven't been able to do) particularly those who arent working reason being that why can't you take this diploma here in Nigeria- Check the USA thread and see how rarely they give college applicants visas maybe you'll understand. |
