Not to be a kill joy but it seems like these German Teams suck, i would have rather we played teams with an actual good first team like Bayern or Dortmond, teams known for having strong reserves at least a wolfsburg not teams in the bottom of the log, lets be honest if your main team sucks how good are your reserves?
They beat Enyimba and kano pillars first team. They ld beat the S Eaglea too if given the chance to do so.

This crop of Nigeria U-20 team- the flying eagles is still one of the best team in the world. De've only lost two matches(both against d ivorians @U-17 african youth championship). Free scoring side-playing all attack and mass defence. Pls we need more from our media men concerning this team. Hmmm de're better than d overhype oyinbo teams, if na brazil de play like this we no go hear word again. I know Awo is better than that Madrid young guy Odegaard or wetin be im name. Abeg do us proud by bringing d cup home-make Keshi n his boys know se de don get rival for The National Team.

AWONIYI TAKING SHOKI DANCE LESSONS FOR GOAL CELEBRATION

An instagram post of Nigeria Under-20 striker Taiwo Awoniyi dancing to a popular hit song by rapper Olamide has made wave on the internet the past few days and Mowizsoccer can now reveal the mystery behind the dancing.

In a chat Awoniyi revealed he is a big fan of the YBNL record label owner and his latest track "Shakiti Bobo" inspired him into asking teammate Dele Alampasu to teach him the popular dance step called Shoki.

"I have been trying to have a signature celebration dance if i score at the World Youth Championship and i so love the shoki dance hence i asked my teammate Alampasu who dances very well to teach me" He told Mowizsoccer.

"Am not that good a dancer but am trying and hopefully i will perfect it before the World Cup proper,it will be nice to celebrate with a popular dance step for Nigerians at home".

The inform forward is expected to lead the line for Nigeria at the championship and his recent act of trying to perfect a dance step for goal celebration further highlighted his confidence mood ahead of the tournament.

So far in friendly games ahead of the tournament he has scored five goals from three games.

Manu Garba and his team of Coaches have set a national and perhaps African record of consecutive run without a defeat; but nobody acknowledges it.

The former U17 Head Coach started a campaign through the qualifiers of the 2013 u17 Championships but failed on two occassions to get past Ivory Coast, including the 1-0 defeat in the finals in Morocco.

That was the last time the Coach lost a game in charge of any of the teams he’s managed thus far.

The Eaglets went on to conquer the World in the United Arab Emirates recording 6 wins and 1 draw. Garba was promoted to the U20 Flying Eagles, was commissioned to play several test games before the qualifiers to feature in Senegal in 2015.

Nigeria’s coach Manu Garba after the Africa U20 Championships 1/2 final against Ghana.
After a 6-1 aggregate win (0-2, 4-1) against Tanzania and technical win (Walked over) Lesotho, Garba lead the team to Senegal where it raced past every opposition, save Ivory Coast. The last group A game ended 2-2; with a 68th minute Musa Muhammed penalty to earn the Nigeria a draw.

Another silverware was in the cabinet courtesy Nigeria’s most successful teenagers in recent times.
That same team conquered Africa to hand Nigeria its 7th AYC crown and have been preparing for the FIFA U20 World Cup which kicks off 30th May.

Manu Garba, head Coach of Nigeria’s U17 Eaglets during the FIFA U17 World Cup in the UAE.
Similarly, the Flying Eagles have proven formidable challenge for teams in Country’s top flight club, flooring the best four and that includes the League champions Kano Pillars.

In essence it means through October 2013 till date Manu Garba has not lost a game in 14 official matches ; excluding friendlies and test games.

With the date against against Brazil; June 1st, at the World Cup drawing close, Manu Garba’s camp in Germany is also raking up wins and will ; hopefully, wrap it up today against SC Freiburg.

According to the assistant Coach Nduka Ugbade, they leave for New Zealand within a week before the 20th edition of the tournament.

thanks Mr. Dan. This man Garba deserves our accolades. He has really done and contributed gr8ly to football development in this nation but still someone wey de sit for im palour go come write rubbish se we should get oyinbo coaches for our youth teams. I don't really think any oyinbo man could achieve such feat. Apart from d coaching aspect if i'm right sometimes ago probably last yr we learn't that he was owed some months salary by d NFF yet still he delivered-this is true patriotism. Manu is setting Himself up as role model for our young and growing coaches. Let us learn to appreciate what we have.

One other thing that impresses me about Manu Garba is that even when he was owed salaries for many months, he did not make noise about it or badmouth the nff about it. Unlike Keshi who was always in the press talking about it and saying that he was going to leave, even saying that countries are already lining up to sign him to coach their national teams.

Very focused man!

Hungary Aim for More Power Against Flying Eagles.
Hungaryhave admitted they are working on having more power by the time they face the likes of African champions Nigeriaat the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.
Hungary and Nigeriawill clash in a Group E on June 7.
The Hungary U20 squad and staff departed for New Zealand on Tuesday and are due to arrive early Thursday at their final destination of the town of New Plymouth, the scene of their three group matches.
“We travel to New Zealand with the team of the future, with players who have been able to play in the national teams at various age groups for several years”, said Storck, who has announced a final squad for the World Cup.
“The squad members have displayed only good form in training sessions and matches and have been selected on the basis of these performances. I have not paid attention to which leagues or clubs they play in.
He added: “We stand ready for our task having been successful in training and in our warm-up matches but at the same time I wouldn’t say the condition of our team is yet 100%. “We would still like to improve.

Re: Flying Eagles of Nigeria Thread: U-20 World Cup (New Zealand 2015) by dabossman(m): 5:37pm On May 20, 2015
I honestly can't wait for this tourney to kick off. There will be many red-eyed days at work for sure. And to chip in on the discussion about progression from youth level to senior level, below is a post I made two years ago when this same team, of course with a few additions now, just qualified for the U-17 world finals. Would like to hear your thoughts onthe points raised.

With the Golden Eaglets recent qualification for the finals of the FIFA U-17 World Cup in the UAE, the perennial question of what becomes of these talented youngsters has started to ring out again. The age long (no pun intended) argument about age falsification within the nation’s youth teams is an ever constant colossus that usually overshadows whatever laurels the U-17’s or U-20’s win.

Nigeria has won the U-17 tourney three times and has played in the U-20 finals twice, throwing up a pool of amazing youngsters that showed so much promised and left Nigerians dreaming of a strong Super Eagles that would one day win the World Cup. However, that dream is still but a dream.

One factor that most Nigerians believe is responsible for this failure to transfer youth team success to the senior level is the tendency for youth players to falsify their ages. Many Nigerians tend to ask, “What happened to the stars of the all-conquering U-17 teams we had before?” Where are the likes of Peter Anosike, Ibrahim Babangida and Sambo Choji of the class of ’93; Femi Opabunmi, Soga Sambo and Temile Omonigho of 2001, King Osanga, Macauley Chrisantus, Yakubu Alfa of 2007? And these questions are not out of place.
However, the truth is that this phenomenon is not only peculiar to Nigeria. Usually, only a handful of youth players ever go on to have glorious careers at senior level; in most cases, between three to five players per squad.

It is very easy to say Gianluigi Buffon and Francesco Totti played for Italy in 1993, Andres Iniesta and Fernando Torres played for Spain in 2001, or Toni Kroos played for Germany in 2007 as did Eden Hazard and Christian Benteke for Belgium and Borjan and David De Gea for Spain. But how many of their team mates can we remember? How many of the squad of 18/21 players then, play for their senior teams today?
Where are the promising stars of yore like Florent Sinama Pongolle and Anthony Le Tallec (France U-17 2001) who were quickly snapped up by Liverpool? Pongolle was the only one lucky to get a single cap for the senior team. What of Fran Merida and Daniel Aquino (Spain U-17 2007) who have never been capped by Spain. Merida who was once an Arsenal youngster now plays for a lowly team in Brazil. Where is Richard Sukuta-Pasu (Germany U-17 2007) who scored four goals on their way to third-place?

The same is the trend at U-20 level. You only need to do a comprehensive research to discover that most youth players from the U-17 and U-20’s, even those from winning squads, usually just fade of into their local leagues and never get more than one to five senior caps if they are lucky. Many never do.

Below are a few reasons why youth players and Nigerian youth players in particular, never make it to the senior team.

1. A Large Biennial Pool of Players
The U-17 and U-20 World Cups take place every two years. This means that large pools of about 42 youth players are showcased on the world stage constantly every two years. That is 84 in four years, and 126 in six years. So imagine Nigeria, or any nation at that playing at U-17 and U-20 consecutively for six years and producing 126 potential senior team players. How many will end up making the cut?

2. Quality Senior players often play for over a decade
The chances of youth team players breaking into the senior team is also limited because their senior colleagues usually play for many years thus shutting them out of the senior squad. How many youth players between 2001 and 2008 stood a chance of displacing Joseph Yobo, Austin Okocha, Kanu Nwankwo, Vincent Enyeama, John Utaka, Obafemi Martins and the likes from the senior team? You would have to be exceptionally talented and extraordinarily lucky to do so. In the same vein, players like Asier Illaramendi, Nacho and Borjan (Spain U17 2007) will probably never get more than the one or two senior caps as long as Xavi Alonso, Gerard Pique and the like of Xavi and Iniesta continue to play for La Roja, just like Haruna Lukman and Rabiu Ibrahim.

3. The Quality of the Local League
A lot of youth players go on to enjoy their footballing careers playing in their national leagues. So many English players that we know from watching so much of the EPL played at youth level. We watch many former youth players in the La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga and other top European Leagues even when they never play for the seniors. Can we say the same for Nigeria?

Most of our youth team players end up in the back leagues of Europe simply because they will settle for any deal that will pay foreign currency. At least with that they can support their families back home.

Yes some of our former youth players like Akpan Bassy have had long careers in the local league. Some have returned home after misadventures in Europe. But how many of them do we know of? How can we even know of them when we hardly follow the league, nor do we get to watch it on television?

4. Bad Career Choices
This is no doubt the bane of many fledgling careers. Our youngsters in a bid to play in Europe will settle for anything, anywhere. From Malta to Cyprus, Bulgaria, Qatar, Vietnam and Moldova; if there is cash to be earned, our players will go. Many do not seek to try and develop their game, but instead join clubs that will only turn them into a mediocre. There is no way you can play in such lower European leagues with players who with all due respect are not of a superior class and it will not affect your game. Even players like Pongolle and Le Tallec as stated above, who played with big names at Liverpool faded away. How much more someone playing in Malta or Liechtenstein?

In reality, it would be very myopic to just relegate the reason why our former youth internationals never graduate to play for the senior national team to just a matter of age falsification. There are many other factors to be considered. Only if these factors can be addressed systematically can we hope to see youngsters like Iheanaco, Yahaya, Awoniyi, Success and the many more that will come after them graduate seamlessly to the Super Eagles.

I love the competition in this team. How will the front line be with Nacho, Moses 'Daddy Ajala' Simon, Success now joining the party. It means there might be no starting place for Musa Yahaya, Bernard Bulbwa and Awoniyi. Yea u read that correctly, Awoniyi. Success was preferred to him at the U17s. If not for Success' injury, we might not be able to see what he's worth. And then he has this uncanny attitude of missing chances.
Moving on to midfield, Nwakali might have just lost his place to Ifeanyi Mathew. Then he has Kingsley Sokari to partner him.
This the the chance for Manu Garba's boys to prove their worth cos European and South American teams take the U20s way seriously than the U17.
Good luck to the team.

I do not know about Kingsley Madu but Oshaniwa is the Shiiit. I remember one goal I think Musa scored that Oshaniwa ran with the ball from defence to square it in. After the goal, his team mates hugged Oshaniwa instead of Musa. Remember his bicycle kick clearance at the World Cup. Or, his cross to Shola Ameobi in the match against Italy.
It wasn't Oshaniwa that crossed to Ameobi against Italy. It was Benjamin Francis, an home based player

If u are Manu garba that is what u will do in your selection ? He will get better , but the instruction given to him is that when he gets upfront there , make sure he dribbles a defender before he make his cross . And as he is upfront Ndidi will cover for him also akijide idolize will shield the defense . U can't take that away from the team ,they are attacking minded team .

For sentiments aside , with this Awoniyi wicked form , it will be difficult for success to displace him .
