Danagogo: NFF Accused Keshi Of Insubordination.
Nigeria’s Sports Minister, Tammy Danagogo, has finally revealed reasons why the Nigeria Football Federation hesitated in reappointing Stephen Keshi as the Super Eagles coach.
Keshi, who recently signed a 2-year contract with the NFF to continue as the Super Eagles coach, was left hanging in the wind for nine months before he was confirmed to continue, even though he did handle the team on an interim basis after his contract expired last July.
And Danagogo has revealed that the NFF’s hesitation was not down to incompetence on Keshi’s part, but due to ‘lack of respect’ and ‘insubordination’.
“When I interviewed the NFF when they were yet to re-sign him, they weren’t even complaining about incompetence or anything of the sort.
“But it was more of them complaining of Keshi not respecting their superiority and insubordination on his (Keshi’s) part,” he told SL10.ng.
The outgoing Sports Minister however posits that he believes both Keshi and the Nigeria Football Federation have learnt their lessons and advised they should cooperate more and try to work better together.
“I believe Keshi has learnt his lessons, and so also the Nigeria Football Federation. I think they should cooperate and work well together and if they do, they will succeed,” Danagogo concluded.

NFF is broke, says Amaju Pinnick

THE Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) says it is currently finding it difficult to raise fund for all the national teams representing the country in different international championships because it is broke.

The NFF also disclosed that the present board is battling to repay a huge debt portfolio, which it inherited from the former board led by Aminu Maigari.
ADVERTISING

NFF President, Amaju Pinnick, said yesterday in Abuja that the board has serious financial challenges, even as it works hard to ensure that the national teams get the best preparations to enable them do well in championships.

Pinnick, however, noted that the huge debt was not as a result of their recklessness, but because they were determined to give the national teams quality preparation for championships, which yielded positive results with the victories Nigeria recorded within the past four years. “We are facing very difficult times preparing all the national teams with little fund.

For example, to bring about 20 Super Eagles players to camp for a match takes between $80, 000 to $90, 000. Things are very difficult for us at the federation. In spite of that we are still trying to put certain things in order,” he said.

Pinnick also explained the situation that compelled the federation to sign the $750, 000 kit contract with Nike, confessing that the federation entered into negotiations with the sports wears outfit from a weak position.

He revealed that the NFF did the deal just for the purpose of securing kit sponsorship for the national teams after all other companies it earlier approached rejected it.

Pinnick also stated that the current position of the Super Eagles, as well as the fact the national team did not qualify for the last Africa Cup of Nations in Equatorial Guinea also counted against the federation in the deal, where Nike’s responsibility would only be to supply kits worth $750,000 to the national teams for three and a-half year period.

Reacting to criticisms that trailed the contract, Amaju said the deal was the best the federation could get, stressing that it was in a very pitiable situation that even lesser companies were rejecting the country’s proposals. “I kept that contract to myself for a long time before I decided to share it with the secretariat. I can tell you that the last four years has been the best period of Nigerian football.’

Now we are supposed to be a choice candidate for corporate kit sponsors, but regrettably no sponsor wants to identify with us.

That is food for thought; we would not want to go into details. I spoke with almost every kit manufacturing company but no one was able to pen a deal with us. So when Nike came with their conditions, we said okay, why not. “We had serious challenges securing kit sponsors for our various teams.

I always rush to this office to approve money so that we can go and purchase Adidas jerseys’ that Nigeria would wear,” he said.

Something is Wrong with the system , about a week a go I read on this thread his intention to fund the falcon and give them all their allowances , he even stated. It that, if they want the match bonuses before they leave the shore of the county that he will give it to them ( empty promises ) something that caught my attention was the usage of "I will " I in three different paragraphs, thought that he will personally Pay them from his pocket even if Nff is broke ... We don't really need this kind of administration , the negative effect can be very colossal on the teams in general .

Last yr it was Super Chicks wit their money saga wey make dem no sleep when de get a crucial match against d Le Blues of France @the World cup Round-16- a match we could have won conveniently. These NFF men should rest. Their pride is hurting the country. How can they delay Coach Keshi's contract this long to soothe their pride. Imagine such statement. The coach should have scouted players all this time but they decided to leave his contract hanging for long.

When Coach Siasia and Coach Garba were camping at Abuja, Coach Keshi should have monitored the teams and noted those for immediate or future call ups. But, he had no contract to do it.

These NFF men are annoying.

I inherited debts, empty treasury from Maigari -Amaju
The President of the Nigeria Football Federation (NFF), Mr. Pinnick Amaju, has revealed that his board is passing through difficult situation due to the volume of debt inherited from the Aminu Maigari-led board, urging Nigerians to understand the enormity of the financial challenges it is passing through to bankroll the national teams.
Speaking in a parley with journalists in Abuja, Amaju disclosed that, while it took the federation $8, 000 (about N1.72 million) to pick the flight ticket for each pro invited for a match, the federation spends between N90 million to N120 million to prosecute a match involving the Super Eagles.
According to him: "We are going through difficult times. People hear all kinds of stories of money or the other, yet nobody has asked where the federation is funding the participation of almost all the 13 national teams in international competitions.
"As for Super Eagles games, we know how much we spend on ticket alone if we invite 20 players for example. One player is about $8, 000 and it takes between N90 million to N120 million to prosecute a team. We should know that the harsh economic situation is affecting the corporate world and they are not redeeming their sponsorship.
"All the trainings we are conducting overseas were made possible through my connections with the corporate Nigerians. They really want us to succeed. It was not just going through the papers of the federation because I know how much debt we inherited coming into this federation. It was a lot of money, not because the former federation was reckless, but because they wanted to give the teams quality preparations," he said.
On the continued delay in his board relocating to the Sunday Dankaro House, new secretariat at the Package B of the Abuja National Stadium, Amaju blamed the delay on the civil service bureaucracy, explaining that the federation was still waiting for the Bureau of Public Procurement to endorse the company his board had selected.
His words: "We also know that whether we like it or not, we must respect the government and establish a healthy relationship and do things in line with all due process, especially as concerns moving to the football house. Yes, we got money and it is there but packing goes beyond the money.
"We should know that people tendered and made open presentation that we must have to look into. We have to go through the presentation in making sure that it conforms to the international best practices. We have chosen a company, but they must have to go through the due process."
On the Glass House, Pinnick said: "We are not going to abandon this Glass House, when we have other leagues that are independent. We are going to turn the Goal Project they are occupying now into a model hostel, where the junior teams can camp," he noted.

Alfa: I Cried When My Name Wasn’t On The Flying Eagles 21

Flying Eagles midfielder Abdullahi Alfa has explained how he felt after he was excluded from the Flying Eagles’ 21-man squad for the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The 18-year-old has been an integral part of Manu Garba’s team right from the last U17’s and made the trip to Germany for the team’s training camp before the final squad was announced, but was conspicuously missing from the list.

And he says he couldn’t eat the night he was told he wouldn’t be going to New Zealand.

“I was shocked,” he said. “I couldn’t eat that night when I was told I won’t be a part of the team.

“I cried all night and my teammates had to console me but it wasn’t enough because I had so much hope and expectation,” he said.

He however went on to say he’s now trying to look beyond the disappointment and focus on his future.

“It has happened and there is nothing I can do about it. I’m still a young player so now I have to concentrate on my future and my career.

“It was sad but it is not the end of the world so now I have to move on,” he stated.

SOUTHAMPTON TRACKING FLYING EAGLES CAPTAIN

English Premier League outfit Southampton will run the rule on Flying Eagles of Nigeria captain Musa Mohammed during the World Youth Championship in New Zealand.
Mowizsoccer gathered an intermediary has already being issued a transfer mandate by the player's agent incase he impresses during the championship.

Southampton are well known for bringing players through their youth ranks and in the last two years they have produced quality right full back in Nathaniel Clyne and Calum Chambers who have both represented England at full international level with Chambers now at Arsenal.

Clyne is heavily linked with a move away from the Saints and although Musa won't be a first team regular if signed due to the complexity of obtaining a work permit, he is however highly recommended by a scout who works closely with head of Southampton scouting network Bill Green.

Green is currently the senior head of recruitment at Southampton and the 64 year old is expected to be at the tournament where he will make checks on skipper of the Nigerian team.

Musa 18, is a right full back who captained Nigeria to glory at the last Under-17 world cup and also at the under-20 Africa youth championship where he emerge as top scorer due to his efficiency in taking spot kicks.

A dead ball specialist who weigh in with his own fair share of goals tipped among the stars to watch out for in the Nigeria team failed to secure a move to Besiktas after his agent reportedly failed to agree a fee for his transfer

Army club dominate Korea DPR squad for U20 World Cup

Seven players from army club April 25 SC have been named by Flying Eagles first round opponents North Korea in their final squad for the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

April 25, who are also known as 4.25, are owned by the Korean People's Army and are one of Korea’s most successful clubs having won the country’s league cup 10 times.

The players from that team are Kum Nam Jang (defender), Hyo Song Min (defender), Yu Song Kim (forward), Kwang Mwong Jo (forward), Chol Jae Kim (forward) , Jong Hyok So (forward) and Chol Ryong Son (goalkeeper).

Their city rivals Pyongyang City SC will provide four players.

Interestingly, six of their players bear the same surname – Kim. That should be nightmare for commentators should all of them be playing at the same time.

The Flying Eagles battle the relatively unknown Koreans on June 4 in New Plymouth.

Success, Iheanacho to start from bench for Flying Eagles

Europe-based strikers Isaac Success, Kelechi Iheanacho and Moses Simon are most likely to start the U20 World Cup from the bench as coach Manu Garba plans to integrate them gradually into his team in New Zealand.

The Europe-based stars did not turn up at a training camp in Nurnberg, Germany, and would instead head directly to New Zealand for the tournament.

But coach Manu has maintained he does not plan to rush them into his first team from the start of the World Cup.

“We are not saying these players will come in automatically to the first team, they will be coming in gradually for them to find a synergy with the other players,” he revealed.

“They will not get into the team in the very first match, they will sit on the bench and observe and whenever we need them, they will come on to do the damage.”

He further argued that these players will have no problem blending with the rest of the team at the World Cup.

“I don’t have any fear (about blending) because these players have been with us,” he said.

“Even Moses Simon was with us in the early part of the U17 team before he went on to play for the U20 team. He may not know our philosophy, but for Kelechi and Success, they know how we play right from the U17s. Kelechi even played the qualifiers.

“All the same, it will not be difficult for Moses because he played in the same academy in Kaduna with Musa Yahaya and he is a striker who knows when and how to move. It will be easy for him to adapt.

“We have two, three training sessions together (in New Zealand) and they will again know how we play and what we want them to contribute to the team.”

He added: “They are all coming from competition and so you can’t fault their fitness level.

“And the language of the game is simple – If you have the ball, before you release it, you have to look up and see the movement of your player. If the other player has the ball, you have to move to a vital space to receive the ball.

“I believe getting that cohesion will not be very difficult because two of them, Kelechi and Success, have been with this team, while Moses will adapt very quickly.

“We will sit them down to show them what we expect them to do. I believe they will adapt because they are young players and very, very intelligent.”

FIFA has rated Taiwo Awoniyi as one of the stars to watch out for to reach super stardom status as the world waits on the class of 2015 to take the center stage of global football; that offered the likes of Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi , later this month.

Early Thursday morning, the World governing body announced that a total of 504 players have been selected by the 24 teams taking part in the twentieth edition of the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

Nigeria’s opponent, Brazil will unleash Manchester United’s youngster Andreas Pereira when the sides lock horns come 1st June. He is the star in the Seleção Sub-20 that Manu Garba’s technical hands must watch out for.

Meanwhile, FIFA says the Flying Eagles are the youngest squad heading into the competition alongside hosts New Zealand.

The New Zealand skipper is one of just seven players at the 2015 edition who have previously played at a U-20 World Cup. Yet despite this kind of experience, the Kiwis’ squad is one of the competition’s youngest, though Nigeria top this particular table with an average age of 18 years and nine months per FIFA.com

The oldest, meanwhile, are provided by the European duo of Germany and Ukraine.

Squads announced for New Zealand 2015

With the big kick-off now just nine days away, another FIFA U-20 World Cup milestone has been reached with the confirmation of final squads.

A total of 504 players have been selected by the 24 teams to follow in the footsteps of Maradona, Messi and countless other global stars who have showcased their potential at this tournament. All eyes will now turn to New Zealand to discover which of the class of 2015 can step into these legendary shoes, and there are undoubtedly plenty of players well capable of dazzling.

South America has produced some of the competition's most famous graduates over the years and this year could continue that pattern, with Uruguayan youngster Rodrigo Amaral and the Colombian duo of Jeison Lucumi and Andres Tello having shone during the continental qualifiers. Brazil's squad, meanwhile, boasts the highly rated Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira, while much attention will centre on the hugely impressive Argentinian pair of Angel Correa and Giovanni Simeone.

Germany will also be a force to be reckoned with, and while star striker Davie Selke misses out , the talents of Marc Stendera and Julian Brandt will ensure that the European champions' attack remains potent. Nigeria, meanwhile, will be calling on several members of the U-17 team that conquered the world in 2013, with forward Taiwo Awoniyi among the youngsters worth watching.

The same could be said for flair players elsewhere, with Mexico's Hirving Lozano, Clifford Aboagye of Ghana and Portuguese starlet Andre Silva all capable of both scoring and supplying goals. Nor should we forget those at the other end, with Bogdan Sarnavskyi of Ukraine and USA's Zack Steffen among several promising keepers heading Down Under. As for the hosts themselves, they are able to call upon six players with senior international experience and will be captained by the Marseille midfielder Bill Tuiloma.

The New Zealand skipper is one of just seven players at the 2015 edition who have previously played at a U-20 World Cup. Yet despite this kind of experience, the Kiwis' squad is one of the competition's youngest, though Nigeria top this particular table with an average age of 18 years and nine months. The oldest, meanwhile, are provided by the European duo of Germany and Ukraine.

Daninya11:

Yahaya should take kelechi's spot.
I'd also like to see Bulbwa play alongside him so he should be taking Simon's place

Please is musa yahaya in the squad. That guy that never tires, always on the move from back to the front, reminds me of patrick viera.
