revenge001: OK. Here's the thing: Hepatanivir drug that you mentioned is around 80% effective. However, before you invest in treatment, it is recommended that you get HBV DNA because it will determine if you should receive the treatment or not. It is also used to monitor or tract your response to anti viral treatment should you get one. Here is your test result in recap: (please correct me If I am wrong) core IgG= positive --> suggests chronic state surface antigen= positive --> suggests active replication (this is what makes you active; therefore need HBV DNA to determine how 'active' (or extent of active virus) and determines the need for treatment. surface antibody= negative --> suggests no immunity e (infectivity) antigen=negative--> not actively infectious e (infectivity) antibody=positive--> not actively infectious (this is what makes you chronic) Treatment is recommended if you are in active liver failure (this will manifest with symptoms) OR If you have high copies of HBV DNA >20,000. I suspect you are in Chronic active state. Therefore, do invest in HBV DNA test to determine how "active" you are. Generally, if >20,000 copies of HBV DNA, it is recommended you start anti viral. I hope this makes more sense. Please feel free to drop comment, questions etc. Regards. |

fatme: I do not think there is any supplement that is approved by the proper medical authority for the treatment of PCOS. What are your specific concerns or symptoms of PCOS. You can manage the signs/symptoms thought. If you are overweight, loose weight. If you are diabetic, loose weight and eat diabetic friendly diet; if fails, get on metformin. If you have dysfunction uterine bleeding (or menses), then you will need contraceptive- obtain from your doctor. |

Spanishmario: It is likely tinea infection or Jock itch. Wear loose fitting clothing and preferably cotton. Keep area dry and cool. You will need anti fungal topical such as clotrimazole (lotrimin), Ketoconazole (nizoral), miconazole (micantin). Clotrimazole and miconazole should be over the counter. Ketoconazole is prescription. Ultimately, see a doctor to examine the area especially if it does not resolve within days or if it gets worse. Regards. 1 Like |

Just saw this now on a thread inNairaland and
decided to share it and to know how true it is
Pregnant women have been warned that taking
paracetamol could harm their unborn baby.
The popular painkiller is believed to have lifelong
effects on baby boys, raising their risk of
everything from infertility to cancer.
Edinburgh University researchers said Britons
have become 'blasé' about paracetamol’s
potential dangers – and urged pregnant women
to think twice before taking the drug.
They said that if the tablets are taken, they
should be used in the lowest possible dose, for
the shortest possible time.
Pregnant women have been warned that
prolonged use of paracetamol could harm their
unborn baby boy
The Royal College of Midwives said mothers-to-
be should seek medical advice before taking
paracetamol at all.
And the medicines’ watchdog is to carefully
evaluate the research.
Paracetamol is the most widely-used painkiller in
the world. And as the only painkiller deemed safe
in pregnancy, it is taken by most mothers-to-be.
However several studies have suggested it
interferes with the development of the male
reproductive system while still in the womb.
This is important because it is thought that if this
programming goes wrong, it has lifelong effects,
putting the child at higher risk of a range of
problems from genital birth defects to infertility
and testicular cancer.
Testosterone, which is made in the testicles, is
thought to be key to the whole process, so the
researchers carried out an experiment designed
to show if exposure to paracetamol in the womb
cuts levels of the hormone.

Kin101, Nothing can 'rid' the HBV. It just suppresses viral shedding and load; which slows down progression to liver failure and cirrhosis. Complete cure from HBV requires liver transplant. |

kin101: http://www.cbp.gov/sites/default/files/documents/cbpo_drug_test_3.pdf It most likely will vary depending country and job. But, here is the general guidelines. Find out what department/job you are applying specifically includes. Height, weight, body mass index (BMI). Physical Exam includes: Cardiovascular examination (heart check, blood pressure, pulse), musculoskeletal examination including comprehensive range of movement, nervous system, examination for hernias and other abdominal abnormalities urinalysis for diabetes or kidney / bladder disorders, respiratory examination and spirometry for lung function, vision assessment including color blindness, audiometry for hearing test. Drug and alcohol screening, work fitness assessments (otherwise known as functional capacity evaluations) They might do labs for blood work to check hemoglobin, glucose, chemistry. Might do ECG, chest xray to assess heart/lungs. The might also do mental exams to test mental capacity/intelligent and emotional quotient, comprehension, reading, memory recall and comprehension. Good luck |

fatme: Then you need an oral contraceptive; this you have to get a gyn. exam and prescription. If you are planning on getting pregnant, then obviously do not take contraceptive. If TTC, you need clomiphene. May also add metformin to OCP as it synergistically work with OCP to correct dysfunction/abnormal uterine bleeding. Take care |

Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 12:23pm On May 23, 2015 |
famouschildren: Reduce dose to 25mcg; retest in 4-8 weeks. For TTC events, your TSH need to be at 2.5mlU/L and up to 3mlU/L as pregnancy progresses past first trimester. You need to be on levothyroxine for the duration of pregnancy and check it every few weeks. As pregnancy progresses, you may require increase in dose as pregnancy does in fact cause increase in thyroid hormone requirements naturally. Regards. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 12:29pm On May 23, 2015 |
Acczeez: If there is some growth, you have to rule out anal warts. Have a doctor look at it. If it is anal warts, it has to be treated, with eventual removal since it exposes you to risk of anal cancer. Are you sexually active? Warts are transmitted sexually. Good luck |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 12:37pm On May 23, 2015 |
OHaddy: Do you have normal period as in every 28-32 days for 4-7 days with moderate flow? Do you mean the entire bleeding during period is dark brown? Have you changed anything in your habits? Diet, medications ? It is mostly normal but can be abnormal in variety of conditions: certain medications, OCPs, dietary changes, emotional distress, PID/STDs, and possibly cervical carcinoma. Try: eating more fruits and veggies, drink lots of water/keep hydrated--keeps your system flushed. If you have not had a woman's exam or it has been over a year, I suggest you can an exam from a GP or gyn. Good luck. |
Re: Doctor in the House: Free Medical Advice Available by Nobody: 12:39pm On May 23, 2015 |
mizbee: 22nd is not far off 17th. Few days off is quite normal. If you haven't started your menstruation yet, get a pregnancy test. It does not harm a thing to test. Good luck. |
