Have u done test of English and skill assessment? You can do anything with any of those visas esp 189.

You dont need all that, just provide the docs listed on the checklist http://www.immi.gov.au/Visas/Pages/checklists/Student-572-streamlined-checklist.aspx

Kindly assess with your Bsc, that will give more points in years of experience provided that you will meet the requirement of the skill you want to nominate. Check the requirement with the Assessing body. Generally, using Msc for assessment is a waste of time and that does not give you extra points on the point test. Msc and Bsc have same point-15points.

Nope, that is wrong. I assessed with both Bsc and Msc, with my Bsc so highly related to my nominated occupation. However, to my surprise i got positive assessment based on my Msc.

Nope, that is wrong. I assessed with both Bsc and Msc, with my Bsc so highly related to my nominated occupation. However, to my surprise i got positive assessment based on my Msc.

Was that with VETASSESS?

I assessed with just my BSc, and it was assessed equal to an Aus Bachelor's. I guess the MSc helps if you feel your Bachelor's is gonna fall short.

thanks Bosslady and amynuch, I dont know why but I just have this love for JCU. Plus, I suspect if i were to get a Job, I can then switch to part time studies after changing my visa class. Neat looking plan on paper but UBKtech, the grand dame of the Australia thread -- the bosslady and the rest of the wise folks will have more authentic contributions.

@amynuch, i haven't started my application yet. Hoping to start next month or July as Redreact advised a few posts back. My plans are still very at infancy but i like planning things to the last detail. In the final analysis, I will want to settle and work in Aussie and I'm trying to tailor all my moves towards that thus the reason for choosing regional schools. My plan is to take the AMC 1 in india in about a month's time and the land in OZ in feb via a Masters Program then look for after hours or rural/remote job, then AMC 2/PESCI etc to get full reg.

The parts i have not figured out are:
I will like to do the masters in a rural/remote area where jobs might be easier to come by i really need info on good locations for rural jobs so i can position myself close to such a place.

What is going on in Lauceston? Since you are already there you can meet up with other IMGs on ground and extract as much info as possible. Local info is invaluable and to me that is the only missing ingredient here. I just made contact with some old Med Schl Colleagues based in Auss, the moment I have more info i'll let you know

You should take a look on Seek.com, and see how job adverts are literally begging for health workers to work in rural areas....offering different things like salary packaging, subsidised accommodation, relocation assistance etc. Getting a job in a rural/regional area, as a healthcare worker, is not hard at all...that I am sure of.

No,I didn't do any text of English. I did d assessment on one of Australia assessment site, I fill the form online,immediately,it brought out the result to me,that this are categories of visa I can apply for.

Do you have a Diploma, BSc or Phd?
How good are your English skills?
How many years of work exp do you have AFTER YOUR DEGREE?
Do you have a spouse? If yes, what is her occupation?
Have you ever studied in Aus?

That is an idea based on u and what u feel u can achieve... the real thing is what I told u. U get to read up...know ur assessing authority... deal with them and do that English test with d required bands in mind.
