I felt so bad when I saw that Abdullahi Alfa didn't make the team, that boy turns like a rubber, his left foot is so magnetic on the ball and he is an expert at sending do -loops. If a player of such calibre couldn't make the team, I can only imagine the top notch qualities of those that did.All the best to Alfa, all the best to the team.. 3 Likes |

I always enjoy reading comments on this platform. So heart pleasing to read much about the lads from the Nigerians. It's so obvious that we believe in the lads to succeed, but if they couldn't fulfill our expectations; we shouldn't bombard them with criticisms, rather encourage them to do better in the nearest future. They are genuinely a Golden Generation, hence we should be patient, fold our arms and watching them developing and gelling up as a Team to beat when they become Super Eagles. Thanks to all on this platform! 1 Like |

GENT are Champions, Simon Moses is a champ... Simon Moses is a BALLER!! folks... did not score but was a terror in chief, he was felled by the Liege defender for Gent's second goal today (A penalty) . I seriously think, he is better than Musah Yahaya and Bulbwa. He glides past his marker with pace.... Chai!!! Manu is blessed with talents. 4 Likes |

Analysing Moses Simon, the guy has got pace, strength, good ball control, low center of gravity and can use both feet well. He's mostly used on the left in Gent but can also play on the right. His position depends on the strategy of the coach. 2 Likes |

Flying Eagles Set for 25-hour Flight to New Zealand. Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will be set for a most demanding 25-hour flight across three continents when they depart Germany on Sunday night for the FIFA U20 World Cup in New Zealand. The African champions are booked on Emirates flight, which will depart Frankfurt, Germany, Sunday night and arrive Dubai early morning the following day. They will then depart Dubai later Monday morning for Melbourne, Australia, before they head out again to Auckland, New Zealand, arriving Tuesday afternoon. The duration of these flights is 18 hours and 35 minutes. And from Auckland, they will fly out on a local flight to New Plymouth, where they will play all their first round matches against Brazil, North Korea and Hungary. The duration of that local flight is half an hour. Source: thenationonlineng.net/new/flying-eagles-set-for-25-hour-flight-to-new-zealand/ |

It's instructive to me that Gent has just won the Belgian title for the first time in their history. They were not a title favourite when the season started. Infact by the end of last year they were not a title contender. Simon Moses came in January from Slovakia, scored some vital goals, made some vital assists, committed defenders to give vital penalties and Gent won the title with a game in hand. That's impresive, lady and gentlemen! 5 Likes 1 Share |

Moses Simon makes history with Belgian champions Gent Moses Simon has won a first-ever Belgian league championship with Gent after they defeated Standard Liege 2-0 with the Flying Eagles forward causing a penalty which led to the second goal. It is Simon’s first winners’ medal in Europe as Thursday’s victory meant Gent have recorded an unassailable lead at the top of the playoffs table in Belgium. They have 49 points, five points ahead of closest rivals Club Brugge, with the last game of the playoffs slated for Sunday. They have been runners-up in the Belgian league twice, in the 1954/55 and 2009/10 seasons. U20 World Cup-bound Simon was upended inside the box in the 50th minute and Renato Neto put away the resulting penalty to double Gent’s lead. Nineteen-year-old Simon, who played as a twin striker, was replaced in the 74th minute. ‘Daddy’ scored seven goals in 17 appearances for the newly crowned Belgian champions. He joined Gent in January from Slovak club Trencin. 2 Likes |

Chidera Ezeh Dismisses Brazil Threat. With only eleven days left before the Flying Eagles opening fixture against Brazil at the FIFA Under 20 World Cup, FC Porto Under 19 forward Chidera Ezeh is brimming with confidence. Five-time champions at U20 level, theSeleçãoSub-20, have included some marquee names on their roster including Fluminense striker Kenedy, who is attracting genuine interest from Chelsea ahead of the reopening of the transfer window, and Real Madrid’s Jean Carlos. Those Brazilian names might ring a bell globally, and definitely in South America, but Chidera Ezeh says he’s not afraid to go toe-to-toe with the attackers and has pointed out that the Nigeria U20s prepared adequately for the tournament in New Zealand. ”We respect all our opponents but we don’t fear them,” Chidera Ezeh toldSL10.ngafter training on Thursday morning. ”In these modern days all the teams are good and what we saw here (in Germany) is not different from others and surely we will gain a lot of experience playing them. ”We will take each game as it comes.” In the build-up to the mouth-watering clash against Brazil in New Plymouth, the Flying Eagles were involved in three scrimmages and won all the games, scoring 14 goals. FLYING EAGLES STUDYING TAPES OF BRAZIL Ahead of their opening game at the World Youth Championship against Brazil, the coaches of the Flying Eagles of Nigeria are studying tapes of the Brazilian team. The coaches received the tapes two days back and it consists mainly of matches played by the Brazilian team at the last Copa America Under-20 championship although they are now under a new coach. Nigeria on her part are reportedly keen on improving their defence line particularly the central defence where the coach admits work still has to be done before the opening game on the 1st of June at the Taranaki Stadium in New Plymouth . However Mowizsoccer failed to confirm if they are also studying tapes of their other group E opponents Korea DPR and Hungary. |

Brazil Confirm Man United Star, Chelsea Target for Flying Eagles. Nigeria's major group opponents at the New Zealand 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup, Brazil, have named a very strong squad for the competition. FIFA released the confirmed squads for all 24 participating teams on Thursday, with the tournament holding from 30 May to 20 June. The big names in the Brazil squad include Manchester United midfielder Andreas Pereira and Kenedy, the Fluminese forward who has been strongly linked with English Premier League champions Chelsea. Comple tesportsnigeria.com reports that Pereira was on Tuesday named United's Young Player of the Year after playing a key role in their U-21s winning the U-21 Premier League title. He also got involved in the senior team, making a few cameos after signing a new contract and earning Louis van Gaal's trust. Kenedy has been impressive for Fluminense this season and has been tipped to be the next big thing out of Brazil. The squad also includes Real Madrid forward Jean Carlos and Marseille midfielder Alef. Seventeen of the squad play in Brazil, for the likes of traditional big sides Santos, Flamengo and Cruzeiro. Along with Brazil, the Flying Eagles will also face Hungary and Korea in Group E. Nigeria face Brazil, who they have never beaten at U-20 level, on 1 June at 1am Nigerian time. FIFA U-20 World Cup: Nigeria Presents Youngest Squad. The 21-man squad presented by Nigeria for the FIFA U20 World Cup set to take place in New Zealand has been rated as the youngest for the tournament. Made up largely of members of the 2013 Golden Eaglets squad that conquered the world in the United Arab Emirates, the world football governing body revealed that the average age of the Nigeria team is 18 years and nine months. In all, a total of 504 players have been selected by the 24 teams on parade in this year’s tournament as talented youngsters attempt to follow in the footsteps of Diego Maradona, Lionel Messi and countless other global stars who have showcased their potential at this youth tournament in times past. While Nigeria prides itself as showcasing the youngest set of talents in New Zealand, the oldest, meanwhile, are provided by the European duo of Germany and Ukraine. Hoping to stun the world yet again, the Flying Eagles will be banking on the scoring prowess of the likes of Taiwo Awoniyi, who FIFA admits is among the youngsters worth watching out for at this year’s tournament. The Flying Eagles will be starting out their campaign at the 2015 FIFA U-20 World Cup on June 1 against football world powers, Brazil, before going on to face North Korea and then Hungary. Aside from Ghana, no other African team has laid its hands on the FIFA U-20 World Cup. Nigeria only came close on two occasions when they made it to the finals in the editions hosted by Saudi Arabia and Netherlands.
