My school. Baptist Academy was founded in 1855 and not 1885. The oldest school and not CMS. It's always on our notebook front cover. |

OP what is more important, school or education? one doesn't need a certain school to be educated or better still become successful, if not the likes of Jesus of Nazareth, Malcom x, Muhammed, Michael Jordan, etc would be said to be uneducated or unsuccessful because they never attended any school. #OPGETPROPEREDUCATION, NB: am not jealous because I also attended a premier university in this country as well as a premier post primary school East of the Niger (DMGS) and I am successful, after all there are people that have attended schools lin the western countries that are over 400 years old, likewise I've seen people who never attended any of such schools yet they are also successful,so OP I think you need to get your priorities right and then, get proper education! |

We don't need to go to school b4 we can b educated, we have skilled trained men/women in the south/east whose knowlede is what tapping from. We don't just need education but that which when applied transform to real development and investment. Ekiti state is said to be the most educated state in Nigeria but one of the most under-developed and poor state in Nigeria... Should dat b called an educated state? What is even education if it cannot result to development, investment and management? Proudly a Niger Deltan! |

HiGod:*Federal Ministeries are govt appointments. Your example is not strong enough. They are oldest schools not because Yoruba could set up schools but because the white men built schools for you. That is not something to be proud of! |

Ibadan Grammar School (IGS), March 1913. That will come after IOGS, Jan 1913 and Eko Boys High Schl. So unfortunate that no one has talked about IGS. Although, I left after Junior Secondary, I still represent. To the Grammarians! 1 Like |

Dedicated teachers, fully functional infrastructure, Capable Principal... I'm always glad I passed through those walls. With the kind of training I received, I didn't have to struggle through my university days. |
