*Federal Ministeries are govt appointments. Your example is not strong enough. They are oldest schools not because Yoruba could set up schools but because the white men built schools for you. That is not something to be proud of!

Why the insults? Can't you argue without verbally abusing people? Yoruba only brought Owambe and Amala.
Europeans brought Television stations and Schools to Nigeria.
Sorry,am yet to see what yoruba brought prior to Western civilization! Opps!
Every other Nigeria just benefitted from that civilization at different points/dates in history.
Go and sit down!

Bro, I lived in US for about 5yrs before relocating back to UK. You need to see thousand of Yorubas in Universities in these countries.

It's an impossible mission for them to catch up with us.
are you guys realy educated for real?cos ur comments portray you as shallow and unenlightened peeps. Tribalists in a mordern, atomic world?

HiGod:

We have been in the game before some people from the other side of River even thought of wearing clothes.

With the above evidence, it has now been confirmed that it ll take them 200 years to catch up with us.

Has anyone noticed their recent activities here; shunning out statistics here just to disapprove the fact that we are their mentor?

your comments dnt show you as a sound educated mind. They portray you as a premitive tribalist.tribalism in an atomic age is a misnormer.we dnt celebrate or gloat over antiquities in an atomic age.

Hypocrisy is a sickness that need global attention than HIV/AIDS and Cancer. I ll advise you to hit the nearest medical centre closed to your hut and get cured of this sickness that has eaten deep into your paralysed medullar oblongata.

I honestly hate to see your flat head which accompanied your ugly Igbotic face to earth. It's sad that destinies have designed our path in the journey of life to meet in a shared country like Nigeria where Animals from the other side of River Niger are mixed with human beings.

My point is that how many times have u given the same sermon to your God forsaken and leprosy - treated alike brothers and sisters who have no other job than to queue up on daily basis here on Nairaland like a biblical cursed cunts to abuse the same Yorubas who gave them a platform to air their warped up opinions.

Ibadan Grammar School is a Nigerian secondary school located in the city of Ibadan, it was founded in 1913 and is Ibadan's first secondary school. The first principal of the school is Alexander Babatunde Akinyele and among its foundation supporters were many members of the Ibadan Anglican Church including Mr Salami Agbaje. During the school's early years, many of Ibadan's educated elite sent their children there and the education center later became a training ground of some of Ibadan's political entities. During the first 31 years, the school only accepted male students, it became a mixed school starting in 1941.

In the 1950s and 1960s, many students attended the school for their sixth form education and Higher School Certificate, among the students was Adedotun Gbadebo who holds the title of Alake of Egbaland and Margaret Shonekan. Among the school's head includes, Emmanuel Alayande (1948-1968) who has a hall named in his honour at the school's premises.

All i see are people boasting of having a Western school built first on their land. Is that an achievement? How relevant is that today. Ironically, igbos are producing the best and highest number of graduates and professors.

igbos from all statistics even from the MDG analysis leads in all facets of education.

Imo and anambra have the highest and third highest number of professors in Nigeria today.
So it doesnt matter who started by virtue of mere geographical coincidence during colonialism
