Lingering Fuel Scarcity:call For Nationwide Civil And Peaceful Protest by Businessideas: 8:00pm On May 23, 2015 |
Since all the civil rights activists/organizations and pressure groups like NLC, NANS, CLO,etc have chosen to keep quiet. Why are we carrying on as if some people behind this endless fuel scarcity are beyond reproach. Businesses are shut down and transportation fare has already creamed off the salaries of employees. The incoming administration is already blaming the outgoing government and nobody is being punished! Haba! This politics platform is a strong platform to mobilize for worthy causes and I move for a nationwide peaceful protest from next week to get the outgoing government resolve it and we extract firm promise from the incoming government to punish everyone involved in the punishment of Nigerians. 1 Like |

The protest would mean nothing so long as the cartel is there. The best is to break the cartel and whoever van should import petroleum products into the country, there and then we would no longer be held to Ransome by a few. |

Unless President Mohammed Buhari implements the agreements of Nigerians at the CONFAB, there will be crisis in Nigeria. Buhari has said he will dump the CONFAB agreements into the dustbin. As for me and my own corner of Nigeria, CONFAB approved a 50% derivation principle. What needs to happen now is a guerrilla warfare against oil pipelines, installations and personnel until the agreement is implemented. 1 Like |

The moderators should move this to front page. It's a legitimate and peaceful call for action on leadership to save our lives. Nairaland is for Nigerians. We can't keep quiet in the face of tyranny. There's no single fuel station selling fuel yet the black market is getting their supply. The mortuaries will soon be shut down! |

peaceful and civil protest to draw attention to our suffering. We're all Nigerians and we deserve better treatment from our leaders. For weeks, we have shown understanding but now, something has to be done urgently. It's a citizens' action for change not the politicians' |
