I didn't go through all this lol. I was asked for my waec result and date of birth. I got my passport the next week and paid the officer. I paid after the job was complete. No stress no issues pls don't meet anything travel agent. Go to abuja yourself and meet an immigration officer.
so what's the difference with what I wrote?

i have seen many replies here, that are nice buh with my little knowledge on this lemme add that, u can have all those documents and the job still wont be done, in the head quaters there are only 3people that has the password to edit, datas and they are called irish men, so what ever document u think u have submited was not even used, the officer incharge of your case only knew his way around which made it look easy. Truth is data change for male is illegal and not possible , and it is boldly written on one of the sign post at the entrance to vip section...buh due to our nature we always find a way to manipulate things there are lot of things some people don't know which i can't share here, so my advice is go to abuja your self pray u meet a nice and Intelligent officer who can make it easy and fast....gracias
You have said it all..

@dotcom
What I told you is a legit way
U simply give out small small cash so that your work won't be abandoned. You as e dey be for naija na.
They(immigration officers) believe any1 that wants to do change must have commited some crime or is a liar irrespective of ur documents showing the real truth.
Bro like I told you, if u wan follow due process den be ready to pick up the passport next year lols.
A friend I met @NIS head quaters paid 250k to 1 influencial man that helped him get approval from ACG with 2days so u can imagine.
Like the last poster mention, an intelligent officer with higher rank can save you a whole lots of stress and time waste.

@Shootingstars88

It is very possible to change the data page of your passport provided you have a genuine reason(s). Speaking from experience, I just did my own but it took me 8 months to get it sorted out( I paid for my negligence and I learnt from it). As some people has advised you that you should look for matured officer that would help you out. Guy, Impossible is nothing!

Good day all,
Please I need info on how to go about getting a new intl passport with my married name.
My old one with my madien name expired mid 2014. I stay in PH and they say I have to go to Abj for a new passport with my married name, that they only do fresh passport in PH.
When I inquired if I could do a new/fresh one with my married name, I was told that once they key in my other info like My first & middle names, DOB & POB that it will come up on the system as already exsiting and it will be locked off.
So my question now is; is there no way I can get a new passport with my married name in PH since I can't leave work & travel to Abj.
Also, does anyone have a contact of someone in Abj, I could talk to over the phone to give me the right info I need to arm myself with.
Sorry for the long post.

Tlk2prince (do you have any contact in abj one can talk to?)
And others with useful info.

Hello house. Pls I need genuine response to my question.

There is an error in the year of birth (1983 instead of 1982) in my old int. passport. Travelled once with it (8yrs ago).

I have a new passport with the correct date of birth, will the difference in my year of birth affect my visa application? As I intend attaching the two passports to show that I have travelled before.

Waiting for your kind response. Thanks

That is a big red flag. How come your wife does not know your birthday? The US takes these types of discrepancies serious. Your best bet will be for your wife to change it from her end to the correct date.

Good morning everyone, please I have this challenge and i'll appreciate your useful responses.

I applied for my first international passport( e-passport) about 6years ago but because of the information I didn't have then, I used 1986 as my year of birth but now I want to change it to the normal 1985 because all other credentials have 1985.

I waited for the passport to expire which it has last February, so i'm willing to do a new one but all those I spoke to said I can't change the year of birth because once I do the BIOMETRICS, it will bring up all my data even if I don't show my expired passport

Please kindly advise on the steps to take to change this or even contacts that can help. I don't even mind going to Abuja for this thing to change.

thanks house. This is what ignorance can cause.

cc. Justwise

Guy how far have you done yours? Because I'm thinking of changing my passport age 88-93 cos if future reference

I had a similar issue. You can only do this at NIS HQ Abuja. Go to Glasshouse, write an application to the Comptroller General and state on your application that the year of birth on your passport is an error. You will have to pay a non refundable application fee of about N35,000. Attach your WAEC cert, birth Certificate, Your university transcript with your DOB clearly showing on it. Get an official to help you track your file. If you have not traveled with your PPT, you stand a better chance of having your application approved. If approved, you will have to pay a passport fee of 24500. Good luck with your application. I got mine approved in a month.

Please note that paying huge sums for it to be done is not a guarantee that it will be approved. The immigration big boys (DCG or ACG) will have to approve it. So please choose the right path to it.

Pls can u help me with number of the officer who helped us, I need do a replacement of a lost passport thank you..
tlk2Prince:
I made available, my original waec certificate, baptismal card, permanent voters card. Its necessary to go with every document showing the correct date of birth.
Written application and 33k for processing.
Once ACG approves, you pay anoda 25k den you go for capture, after capture, the slip print out will show your date of collection of the E-passport.

Hello everyone,

I need your candid opinion on a burning issue which has been troubling me for some time now. I am really ashamed and remorseful of my actions, it was just the situation I found myself. I was once a footballer and once had an opportunity to travel to Europe for my footballing career but this did not work out as planned. I got a passport for this purpose where I did not use my real age, as advised by my coach and agent. I later dropped football and went back to school. Now I am done with my first degree and I intend going abroad for my masters degree. The old passport with my false age expired and I proceeded to the NIS office where I met an Immigration officer who assisted me and got me another passport after I did the Biometrics. I actually paid him 100k for this. I really don't know if it was renewal or re-issue he did but this new passport has my real age and name which tally with my academic documents. The new passport has the old and new passport numbers written on it its data page. Now my question is, with the old number available on the passport, will the embassy verify and compare the information on the new and old passports?

Thanks for your useful contributions.
