bossladyMo:Do u mean even as his B.Sc is equivalent... the M.Sc inclusion won't negate the work experience after the B.Sc? I think his 4yrs of post M.Sc work experience will count as 5 points and he has 60 points overall. Assuming nothing will b deducted from the 4yrs. |

Ifexsco: In simple terms, if ur Msc was assessed as being suitable, then u can only claim work exp. AFTER ur Msc. If only ur Bsc is suitable then u can claim post bsc and post Msc. So other PR aspirants take note! 1 Like |

bc2015: Hello. Try to search for post graduate nursing programmes in different universities and pick the one that has SVP processing. It will afford you the opportunity to get into the system and write their registration exams with ease. Follow all the other processes earlier outlined on this forum to ensure your visa is granted within the shortest period possible. All the best. |

bc2015: A nurse once posted it on this forum and that is the process generally. I have also modified the process. Kindly read and follow it accordingly. Below is the guideline to work here as a Nurse. To work here as a registered nurse you need to apply to AHPRA with your overseas trained application form.. the form link is below http://www.nursingmidwiferyboard.gov.au/documents/default.aspx?record=WD11%2f5938&dbid=AP&chksum=Vu5B6IVSxjQ2tDhZpamU2Q%3d%3d You need to sit for either IELTS academics (7,7,7,7) or the OET exam etc. before applying...now for nurses or health practitioners, OET is the easiest exam to write for medical practitioners. It is in fact the best, you write it once and you are sure of getting it right. Immigration department accepts it for PR purposes. You need to write the exam before applying. Once you submit the result, they will ask the nurses board in the country where you are registered to verify that you are registered with them; the nurses board in Nigeria or wherever you registered will send the verification directly to AHPRA. When AHPRA gets it, they will send you an email with a list of universities where you can do a bridging course in Australia for 3-6 months or 1 year conversion course (which people like to do cos they can work whilst doing the conversion and pay their fees unlike the bridging course that they can't work. BUT THEN AHPRA WILL TELL HIM WHICH ONE TO GO FOR) UNIVERSITY TRAINED I THINK HE YOU BE ASKED TO DO THE 3 MONTHS COURSE. PEOPLE WHO DO THE 1 YEAR CONVERSION COURSE ARE THOSE WHO ARE HOSPITAL TRAINED REGISTERED NURSES WITH A DIPLOMA CERTIFICATE. SO AFTER THE CONVERSION THE SCHOOL GIVES THEM A BACHELOR'S CERTIFICATE AND CANCELS DIPLOMA(which is good cos then you have a bachelor degree not diploma). After the bridging course you will get your registration with AHPRA as a nurse. General Process of Australia immigration: 1 Check the SOL/CSOL: • 2 Calculate Points • 3 Skills Assessment: • 4 Proof of English Language ability: • 5 Work Experience: • 6 State Sponsorship: • 7 Family Sponsorship: • 8 Submitting an Expression of Interest: • 9 Visa Types: • 10 Lodging Application: • 11 After Lodging: • 13 The Waiting: • 14 The Decision: 5 Likes 3 Shares |

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 5:27am On May 26, 2015 |
BSc and MSc attract the same points. So as long as his BSc is found equivalent to an Aus BSc, then no wahala. Any experience after that would count. The only gbege is if some of the experience after the BSc is not in a relevant field...i.e, in a different occupation entirely. I am an Agricultural Consultant. If I got my BSc in 2000, and I got an MSc in 2004... and both degrees were found equivalent to Bsc and MSc respectively....it does not matter if I claim work experience points after my BSc, as long as the work experience is as an Agricultural Consultant, or something similar to it. Where gbege enters is when I worked as something else for a while, and then as an Agricultural Consultant, and then I claimed work experience for all the years. 1 Like |

chuckdee13: Yeap. A state can nominate you, if your EOI meets their requirements. Some states require work experience, some don't. But you need work experience to get a positive assessment in the first place |

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 6:27am On May 26, 2015 |
bossladyMo:The thing is who finds both equivalent? If it is the assessing authority, ur M.Sc completion date is tagged as ur Skills MET date and thereby rendering ur relevant work exp after B.Sc not valid for points test... My guess is from ACS though. It could be valid for suitability. However, if u discover the both equivalences urself, u could withhold the M.Sc and claim work exp all through if relevant and if u worked all through too. My understanding. I don't believe an assessing authority will find both equivalent and tag skills MET on B.Sc completion date. |

Sometimes we are too busy to check out information by ourselves and then depend on others to do it for us. Sincerely, what MARA agents are selling is information and it is very costly. And the reason why you get adequate information before applying for PR in particular is to avoid being denied visa. I was once a victim of this. I could not check information online by myself even when it was available online. It costed me about 800AUD plus for Ernst & Young to check my eligibility criteria for PR. And ever since then, I made up my mind to help as many people with information. At least, I have assisted 5 people with information on Australia PR immigration up to PR grants and others are in the pipeline. People should always appreciate this and not to discourage others that are willing to help.
