UHmmm, i've missed alot(from 96-103). This fuel scarcity of a thing has just made me to have a taste of what is to live in a medieval era. No power, no fuel(petrol-transportation, gas-cooking, kerosene-cooking) no communication, no nairaland to mention afew. I came to realise the importance of fuel in our day to day activities... Various business have been shut down, house of worship can't use speakers... I think this is happening so that Nigerians We know that we need each other to survive-no matter your tribe. I do laugh most times when some folks say 'LET EACH TRIBE GO T WAY n see who will suffer most'-Mehn we never leave sef n we de experience this. i think t will be disastrous if we disintegrate. the hausas-foodmakers, Ibos-oil producers n Yorubas-consumers(lol). THEY were like Siamese twins conjoined by one denominator football – and in more ways than one, Chidera Eze and Kelechi Iheanacho have espoused uncommon bond even as they chart their different roads on the way to the top of their careers.

In Chidera and Kelechi, there is the truism in the wise words of Jeanne Phillips – also known as Abigail Van Buren – the American columnist who writes the advice column, Dear Abby, who noted: ‘twins have a special bond and they feel safer with each other than with their peers.’

The reason for this is not far-fetched since both were groomed from the national Under-13 team where they found their ways into the national Under-15 team together and finally blossomed under the watch of Coach Manu Garba in the Golden Eaglets, culminating in their winning the 2013 FIFA Under-17 World Cup in Abu Dhabi.

“In camp, you can see that there is chemistry between Kelechi and Iheanacho,” stated 2013 U-17 World Cup-winning Golden Eaglets’ medical officer, Dr. Deji Olarinoye. “They are always doing things together and the most interesting thing about them is that they further complement each other when paired together on the field as strikers.”
But as they say, even co-joined twins would need to be separated for survival and it came as no surprise that both Chidera and Kelechi had to follow different routes soon after the 2013 World Cup as they were snapped up by different European clubs.

“I was very happy when I was informed that both of us, I mean Kelechi and I, were going to join FC Porto because he was like a blood brother since our days in the national Under-13 team,” explained Eze, who cut his teeth with Riverlane Football Academy in Enugu. “We were inseparable because anywhere you saw him, I was always there, or vice versa to the extent that some called us twins.

“As such, I felt very sad when he told me about his change of mind because of other family issues and I almost cried because I felt both of us were always destined to be together.
“God will see us through in our respective careers; he is doing great at Manchester City and I’m praying for him always since we are just starting the race in our careers,” added the lively guy with a cherubic face laced with an immutable toothpaste smile as he speaks on many interesting issues....... ..... .. Nigeria’s Flying Eagles will have their first training in New Zealand on Wednesday afternoon local time.

The Flying Eagles first training in New Zealand is 1pm local time on Wednesday, which will be 12 midnight Wednesday in Nigeria as New Zealand is 11 hours ahead of Nigeria.

The Nigeria U20s finally settled down at the Quality Hotel Plymouth International Tuesday night ahead of the FIFA U20 World Cup after an exerting trip across three continents, which spanned more than 25 hours.

The African champions started out at the Frankfurt Airport on Sunday night for a 6 and a half hours flight on Emirates to Dubai.

After a three-hour stop-over, they then headed to Melbourne, Australia. The flight lasted over 12 hours and it was by far the longest leg of the journey.

They stopped over in Melbourne for about two hours before they flew out for Auckland, New Zealand. They were airborne for about three hours.

And in Auckland, where they were warmly welcomed by a small group of Nigerians, they took another flight, this time on Air New Zealand, to New Plymouth. The flight was for 40 minutes.

The weather in New Plymouth is chilly and raining as this is the beginning of winter in New Zealand. Locals say it is colder than Auckland.

Manchester City forward Kelechi Iheanacho, who arrived New Zealand the previous day from his English base, was on the flight to New Plymouth with the rest of the team.

Hungary, who will share the Quality Hotel in New Plymouth with their first round foes Nigeria, are expected to check in on Wednesday.
