On Forbes list Most Powerful in Africa and #48th in the world (2015)

Profile
Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, the minister of finance for Nigeria, has helped the country's economy, the largest in Africa, grow an average of 6% (per annum) over three years. She is credited with developing reform programs that helped improve governmental transparency and stabilizing the economy. Okonjo-Iweala is the first woman to be the finance minister and the foreign minister of the West African country with a GDP of $502 billion. But the start of the year has been difficult for Nigeria. The country voted in former general Muhammadu Buhari as president, ousting long-time President Goodluck Jonathan, with the hope he will help fight against the local terrorist group Boko Haram. The Harvard- and M.I.T.-trained Okonjo-Iweala spent 21 years as a development economist at the World Bank.

A state like Rivers state that some months ago aided Osun state with money to pay salaries today Amaechi wants us to beleive Okonjo-Iweala is his problem -shifting blames.

Why is willie Obiano of Anambra (a non oil producing state) paying salaries and executing projects and a whole Rivers state cannot?

Yes! Powerful in Jonathan's bedroom & kitchen. Jonathan is a weakling, and women like Ngozi Okonjo Iweala love to dominate & rule over weaklings like Jonathan, if not, Y would a nonentity who talks with both sides of her mouth like Ngozi threaten to resign should Jonathan revert back to the old pump price and Jonathan yielded?

Let's see how truly powerful she is in few days time when my amiable GMB officially comes onboard.

I suspect this woman likes a lot of econiums and praise. I might be wrong. Her thirsty psychophants are doing their work. The people in Forbes Africa must be brain dead to celebrate criminals in Africa. They do not do the same in developed nations. I hope Okonjo is not buying all this praise. Praising yourself keeps you in a fool's paradise. No one else believes all the hype except you. No wonder all we see is spiritual economics.

Only a blind fool would doubt this woman's credentials and ignorantly question her contributions to our economy.

At times like these I wish we could just have our own country devoid of these back-thinkers and see how far we all would go.

Only God knows how many bright minds and potential world leaders are going unnoticed because we continue to find ourself in this hopeless contraption called Nigeria.

Thank God for the Nigerian experience. Woe betide us if we fail to apply the lessons learnt when we eventually get out of this mess.

Same attitude you guys had about GEJ. God moves you to a position, but it's your choice whether to remain in that position. Your sins will catch up with you if you fail to do what's right when you're in position. Nigeria's economy was mismanaged, hope she isn't culpable, this is not about hate. I respect her but I detest the level of mismanagement that went unchecked under her watch

Her credentials are undisputed, but the economy was mismanaged viciously under her watch, Nigerians need answers. Until that happens, she'll remain a controversial figure within Nigeria.

shey we didn't knw before that Forbes na joke ni?

they can name anybody they feel like..

the truth is that most a fraud and american puppets.

where are the questionnaires filled by the masses to teat her popularity.

someone that has the reins of power when oil was at $150 per barrel and did nothing to turn the country around.

she left it in shambles, far from any improvement except the yeye rebasing.

lol

air don blow now, we don see say the rebasing na propaganda...

we no have 2kobo for reserve and we dey talk of biggest economy.

lol

most powerful woman indeed
nothing upstairs.

guss hinddik is a reknowned coach, known for his work to turn around a dying team and make them fight for the best. that is someone I knw that knows what he's doing.

scolari will plunge you into relegation. forget his lucky world cup win which we all knw the players actually played due to abilities. he is just like Avram grant who his lucky stint with the Chelsea makes him a good coach.

an economist that drafted and approved 13% every yr for capital expenditures in a country that needed so much infrastructures and development is a joke!

nothing else.

Forbes means nothing...
