it was advised that anyone who is confirmed negative should get vaccinated so that such person won't be at risk of contacting the virus. I just completed my injection because my wife was tested negative during anti-natal,to avoid passing it to our baby, after delivery the baby got vaccinated within 24hrs which cost 70k.

now my wife is going through varieties of test at luth,I just pray she recovers soon because the tests are expensive.

Are u also positive? And what drugs are u using now? If u are negative u will have to complete a three round of the vaccine injection which will span for about six months or plus.

Hepatitis

Please dont be deceived, there is NO herbal or supplement cure for hepatitis, at least for now. Hepatitis affects the liver mainly. It ranges from acute hepatitis through chronic hepatitis to liver cirrhosis and finally liver cancer. It is caused by at least five types of hepatitis virus..... Hepatitis virus A, B, C, D and E. Hepatitis B (and may be C) are the most dangerous.

Acute hepatitis means the finding of the surface antigen of hepatitis B virus (HBsAg) in the blood. This may ve cleared in the body within 3 months (seroconvertion) and the person may test negative to this antigen and say they are cured. It was rather converted to its antibody called anti-HBs. If HBsAg remaibs positive after six months it is then called CHRONIC HEPATITIS B INFECTION. This is the one that may progress to cancer if not treated.

It is not everybody that will be treated however, as some may just need follow up every six months or every year. There are some simple tests that will be conducted to know who will need treatment and who will not.

The ultimate goal is to prevent hepatitis. World Hepatitis day is celebrated on 28/07 every year. The theme for this year, 2015 is PREVENT HEPATITIS: ACT NOW. So go and know your hepatitis status.

For the OP just go to a good hospital, see a doctor who will run some tests to know if you need treatment or not. I wish you luck

There's nothing to worry about. It's not the end of life.
It may lead health issues like inflamation of the liver or liver cancer if not properly taken care of?

Be careful with nigerian doctors they dont know much. They will only bambuse you with grammar.

Here's the step to follow.
(1) Dont Rush to Take any drug for now.
(2) Go for Liver Function Tests,HBV DNA it's available at Nigerian Institute of Medical Research or PathCare,V/I, lagos.
Fibroscan is needed too know if there's any damage to your liver. This is not available in Nigeria
These tests will help you to know your status.

(3) Your status will help you determine the next step.
(4) Join this online forum www.medhelp.com
This is lot of information about the Hepatitis treatment.
(5) Some hepatitis status does not need any drug while some do.
(6) if there's any inflammation to your liver, then you have start taking drugs to
control the inflammation.
(7) Good Drugs are not available in nigeria, so you have order it online which far far cheaper.

Don't panic! the virus is harmless to your body, its our immune system response to the infected cell that damages d liver

4 cure drug for this desease is at advance stage of development.Clinical trials are ongoing.
However, this can be controlled with no harm. if you monitor regularly.

I'm looking forward to forming a forum for this in nigeria.
This will definately help us.

For more info: onesong2luv@gmail.com

Cheers!

I think the bolded is rather a hasty generalization. There are many very good doctors in Nigeria who are Nigerians as well. Yes there are quacks everywhere but dont say Nigerian doctora dont know much.

You mentioned HBV DNA and Fibroscan...yes facilities for these are not readily available everywhere but does that mean people with hepatitis should be condemned to death? NO!

I'm sure you've not heard of APRI score, I'm sure you also dont know there are criteria for treatment and monitoring of those with chronic hepatitis B.

Please dont generalise issues. Thank you
