I noticed too I also observed that most bloggers arrange their post on desktop views and neglect the mobile view navigation and optimization. Some people especially on opera products finds it hard to comment on their devices |

Because 99.9% of Nigerians are computer illiterates! They would rather discuss bible or quran (two fictitious books) than discuss tech. That's why Nigeria is so backward and primitive mentality still blossom. 3 Likes |

Interesting things always attract attention. Make it interesting. Avoid too much tech talk. Relate your posts to everyday practical things. Ask people for their opinion, not just giving yours. Show interest in what they have to say. Most Nigerians are not tech savvy so may not understand too much hard stuff. Disclaimer: I haven't visited your blog before, so I don't know if you are already doing these. |

Re: Why Do Nigerians Hate Commenting On Tech Blogs? by Nobody: 3:45pm On May 28, 2015 |
It is simply because with tech blogs one is required to make an educated comment while one is allowed to speak with ones behind in the other. Do not forget Nigerians aren't that correctly schooled. BTW, wetin I know about technology? |

If Nigerians are not commenting on your tech blog, it is because you've done a poor job in marketing the blog. Make your blog interesting, dedicate time and effort towards marketing and other PR methods only then will you see an uptick in user engagement. 1. What's your Google rank 2. How are you reaching Nigerians? 3. Do you offer freebies on your blog? Such as free software, PDF and so on... 4. How dynamic is your blog? I suggest you stop blaming the consumer and invest more in your business. |

Because it is very easy to make a comment concerning Kim Kardasia yansh , Even with an IQ of a frog you can still say something about Tonto dike bosom. You get my point right…No insult intended for those who love entertainment blogs. As you can see merely by reading the title many people didn't even clicked the thread, just over 60 guest viewing. The highest pages you would get is 3 . |

MissTechy:In my own opinion, may be those Tech blogs do not interest them or solve their problems. Those gossips may at least put a smile on their face. Take for instance, How do U expect a nokia user to comment on iPhone blog? Myself as a case study only follow blogs that I know has potential to solve a problem (immediate or nearest future). So, Tech bloggers should post what a common man can understand and apply. |

The average IQ quotient of a Nigerian is low and that's why they're not given to overly technical stuff. But if everyday gossip and beer parlor political discussions, they will sit down, open their dirty yansh and talk. That's why the politics section has been taken over by little noisy children who think politics is a shouting match. No wonder most of the sane and articulate contributors have left the seen. As for technology, things will only get better when the Nigerian educational system looks up. You tech bloggers aint doing anything wrong. Nigerians aren't just there yet. 1 Like 1 Share |

Simple: tech awareness is still low in Nigeria. As a career blogger, I also noticed that people don't comment on articles that are academic and technical. Many of the guys that contribute to my blog got discouraged from writing because of low engagement their articles attract. Another thing I noticed: In Nigeria, people see bloggers as no-do-gooders. They just don't want to associate with blog. Also, people here are usually uncomfortable to comment on blogs. I was surprised recently, when after reading an article a contributor to my blog wrote on James Lafferty, former CEO of CocaCola West Africa, BAT etc, the man himself showed up (God knows how he saw the article - maybe through Google alert) and personally commented. I can't imagine a Nigerian Bank MD commenting on a blog! 2 Likes |
