I like to appeal to president Buhari that it looks like the boko haram war is more of a political war than a pure military challenge. The basis of my thought is that the local vigilante are more relevant to defeating the boko haram than the strongest military group. We need to recall that most of the major successful onslaught on these animals are achieved by engaging the vigilantes who are residing in the locality and who can actually identify members of the group since they can easily mix-up with the larger community.
Boko haram attack is also more pronounced in the remote villages which might not have adequate military presence.
We have also had instances when members of this group put on military uniform to deceive the locals.
So the boko haram war does not look like a conventional military engagement where you know who your enemy are so that you can engage them with your full military might.
I will like the president to engage the northern elders. They can't just be looking while boko haram is decimating their subjects in hundreds and subjecting them to the most undignifying abuse not known to mankind prior to now. I am sure they will have some useful information.
Luckily, the president is also an elder in the north. Mr president sir, it is time to look a bit inward. Please sir, hear their own version of the story, I am sure you will be able to pick something from it. This can not be a sign of weakness but deriving the greatest strength from all possibilities.
Boko haram is a disgrace to humanity.
It is time to end it. |

In all conflicts the command centers are few kilometres from the war theatre! America, Russia, Ukraine, Vietnam, Korea,DRC, Sudan, Georgia etc do it, even in some cases when America is attacking a county they have their command center on their war ship which is not far from that countries coast. People need to get their fact's right; Buhari is not a bedroom or a paper general as he has seen actual combats: he fought during the Nigerian civil war, he fought a deadly islamists group in the North during the early 80s & he lead Nigerian troops against Chad when they invaded Nigerian side of chad basin; he & the troops he lead push them out of Nigerian territories & captured several towns & villages in chad, those territories were only handed over to chad after they apologized & begged.
