military is military there are standard procedures.. even USA fighting a bigger war have not relocated their central command next to Taliban or Alqueda door step. Buhari cannot claim to be a MAJOR GENERAL and make such blunder..

How can you compare mango to Apple? The U.S. War you guys are talking about is not within the country, how can they move such from their country to another man's land? But with the so called boko, our military command can be anywhere in the country as long as it does not pose threat to the national security. It is a temporary thing, you all are bloody civilians and don't know if it is a tactical strategy or not, why not wait and see if it does not work B4 throwing tantrum

Attention-seeking Ifeduba, you even queried PMB's rank of Major General. And that his action will "force" you to revisit his certificate issue ? How self-conceited, moronic, pompous and arrogant can you be. Let me warn you that plagiarism is a serious crime. Posting your picture was a mistake because it reveals a perfect clue of a compound fool.

i decide to reason with this guy, maybe it is true of him being associated with boko haram, cause moving the HQ to war zone is the best way of exposing Nigeria vulnerable, by the time this terrorist are able to bomb the HQ, so nothing nothing again for Nigerian than us to surrender to islamic caliphate, hehee, shey i no warn you people before deciding your choice earlier, let relax and watch the seasonory g film, but is like episode film oo, cause there is an end to this.

[quote author=ifedubatoochukw post=34222679]President Muhammadu Buhari on Friday in Abuja directed the central command of the military to relocate to Maiduguri, Borno, to intensify the fight against Boko Haram insurgency.

Buhari, who gave the directive in his address after his inauguration, said it was impossible to achieve victory against the insurgents if the command continued to operate from Abuja.

He said that the command center would relocate and remain in Maiduguri until the insurgents were subdued.

No where in the History of world military History will the military central command be located right in the combat zone it is the height of unprofessional-ism which is about to force me to revisit the issue of Buhari certificate scandal. let us use the United state of America model as a case study .

Military Central command are non combatants they are not infantry units but expertise from various field of course

Structure

Central Command headquarters staff directorates include personnel, intelligence, operations, logistics, plans & policy, information systems, training & exercises, and resources, and other functions. The intelligence section is known as Joint Intelligence Center, Central Command, or JICCENT, which serves as a Joint Intelligence Center for the co-ordination of intelligence. Under the intelligence directorate, there are several divisions

In the United State the Central Military Command directs four "service component commands" and one subordinate unified command and no fighting units directly subordinate to it:

The United States Army Central (USARCENT), and the United States Air Forces Central Command (USAFCENT), both headquartered at Shaw Air Force Base in South Carolina, the U.S. Marine Forces Central Command (USMARCENT), headquartered at MacDill Air Force Base, Florida and the U.S. Naval Forces Central Command (USNAVCENT), headquartered at Naval Support Activity Bahrain in the Kingdom of Bahrain. MacDill Air Force Base also hosts a Sub-unified command called the Special Operations Command Central (USSOCCENT).

In 1983, U.S. Military Central Command was established to succeed the Rapid Deployment Joint Task Force, formed at MacDill AFB, Florida on 1 March 1980, to handle US national security interests in Southwest Asia, Central Asia and the Persian G

The USA Central Military Command main headquarters is located at MacDill Air Force Base, in Tampa, Florida. A forward headquarters was established in 2002 at Camp As Sayliyah in Doha, Qatar, which in 2009 transitioned to a forward headquarters at Al Udeid Air Base in Qatar to serve American strategic interests interest in the following countries as the Area of Responsibilty.

Area of Responsibility Countries for USA Central Military Command Located in Mac Dill Air force Base in Tampa Florida..

Afghanistan
Bahrain
Egypt
Iraq
Jordan
Kazakhstan
Kuwait
Kyrgyzstan
Lebanon
Oman
Pakistan
Qatar
Saudi Arabia
Tajikistan
Turkmenistan
U.A.E.
Uzbekistan
Yemen

Tactically its a great Blunder for Mr Buhari to relocated the Military Central command right into sambisa forest when he knew quite well that these people are non combatants they are not infantry soldiers and their area of responsibilty covers a wider area than just boko haram. they monitor , deploy and protect both Nigeria air land and water from bioth internal and external aggression.

Relocating Nigeria military Central Command to frontline war zone is the most senseless decision any president have ever taken and such action is capable of endangering Nigeria external security an outside force may invade the bnation of Nigeria in time like these..

LThis wrong decision calls for us to revisit Buhari certificate scandal and how he come about his title of Major General. Lwhen he is incapable of simple kindergarten Military D ecision

Well well like most Nigerians you miss the point. If he compared us with Congo or Sudan it would not have changed your position in form and value. The point is not whether we are the us or not but that it is tactless to relocate the center of your military infrastructure to the heat of a warzone. If that gets taken out as Boko Haram continues to demonstrate, will they relocate to Nairaland to continue the battle? I see over 250 like minded dolts think the same way.

Military command center is not the DHQ.

Military command center is a dedicated operations center for a particular crisis.

The military command center for Terrorism should not be located in Abuja for any reason.

What he meant is the central command centre for THE war against BH. FoR eg during the war against Iraq in 2001 central command was in the "Green Zone" in Baghdad, not in the United States of America

This is the most important point the mischievous ifeduba neglected.

My pain is the way he ridiculed the president, based on very shallow understanding and very mischievous motive..

By the way was there any certificate scandal? Any way may be in the minds of idiots like Ifeduba!

It is too early for criticism mr so called political analyst.

Howeva, comparing Nigeria wit USA is lyk comparing ur son wit ur grandfather.

So therefore, as d president n commander in chief of d armed forces, he has every right 2 relocate d army even 2 mountain Everest, so far it wil solve d problem at hand.

Lastly, dis is Nigeria a country in Africa incase u have forgotten so soon, so wat works in oda country might not work here. The USA soldiers dat came looking 4 d Chibok girls can testify 2 dat.

Na wah oooo! Must everyone be clueless like Ebola... Sorry Ebule...I Meant Ebele Jonathan? This man our New C-in-C, crushed the maitasine sect, he knows what he says. Moving the Campaign (military) Command Centre to the centre of the action is just one of the steps in the right direction. Haven't they been quartered in Abuja for so long that they they don't know what it means for soldiers not to have logistics, support and Intel? The Op is a nyansh(no apologies) if moving the Command Centre will squash the rebels.... Then why not. We want something different. This is it. I don't want to think we all aren't happy about this. Let us let him fail or succeed. As for me I want him to succeed. This is the opportunity, let us take it. Thank you.

many of you will criticize this post saying it is bias or from pdp e thugs or so,but d truth is it is a blunder to move the comand centre to a battle ground...evn an ordinary recruit will agree wth u on that, talk more of a general...those who might have read books like 'Art of War' by Sun Tzu and military strategy will also agree dz is a wrong move coz d country security as it stands now is low...but i feel the movmt of d command centre is more of like a shift of power to the north....just my own point of view

Are you sure you have ever read the ''art of war'' as claimed? Sun Tzu actually alluded that you can't win a war by fighting from the back.......that is almost what PMB quoted by saying you can't defeat Bokos by fighting from Abuja.....Meanwhile, the command cent

re was relocated to Maiduguri which is several hundred kilometres from Sambisa. We must not lose sight of the fact that GEJ and the military command claimed that the Bokos have been pushed to Sambisa and that is what was probably in the notes handed over to PMB.

Ifeduba or what you call yourself, you still have a lot to learn being a political scientist. I think you have no qualification for that, just that you have access to the internet so you can make noise like everyone else. That does not make you a political analyst, political analysts is an actual profession and not an hubby.

Political analysts take their time to access information in depth before making their analysis and not beer parlor suggestions. By the way, did you even give a solution on how to combat boko haram once and for all? But noise makers like you, the ever annoying arm chair critics are quick to judge any postulations put forth that will defeat these fools once and for all, but you guys don't have the brilliancy to come up with your solution to counter the President's own. We have had enough of this folly, and thank God it died with jonathan. So its time to shut up and start making sense not showing your worthless hobby and what it means not to be a political analyst. And your picture is eating people's bandwidth, it is not necessary, if you want to be in the limelight, start trekking for whatever hideous reasons there is.

More like u're into fiction.
Have we ever thought abt the impact of moving the command center to the war zone, on the command itself?

As a center where intelligence is collected, analysed and disseminated, i think the center should be guarded jealously and not exposed as most of us presume.

If you move the command center to borno state, what then will be the duty of military command in borno state?

Reason analytically, not emotionally.
I dont think buhari will move the center when he sits down to analyse whatz involved.
He only said he'll do. Thatz nt yet an instruction.
Thanks!

Even the DOD(Pentagon) is not located in the US capital.

Most US command center are located within the battle zone to avoid bureaucratic issues.

I only became convinced when I read that ifeduba was only a political analyst rather than a serving or ex military personnel that he is not well informed and only exposed his ineptitude as a political analyst. Why cry more than the bereaved when he (PMB)said clearly that his reason is to quell the unending killings in the north east.

If he (ifeduba)were alive when jesus spat on the floor only to use the resulting mixture to heal the blind, I only would have wondered what his position would have been.he would have criticised greatly the connection saliva had with healing the blind rather than focusing on the message the messenger has with a view to entrenching peace he chose to make comparisons where it never mattered.

ifeduba should criticise PMB only if his proposed plan fails to accomplish his set objectives. The man is even yet to settle into core business of governance.

PMB retorted to the amazement of all that he belongs to everybody and he belongs to nobody which has a deeper meaning and showed someone with a mind to work and not being vindictive.

Ifeduba should give better remarks and criricisms where it can be founded and support the era of change.

Let's rally round PMB in his task. Nigerian can become a role model to those countries he outlined in his submission afterall our democracy though nascent is now the talk of the continent and the world.
