Do basic Google search, Naija OPV AK-176 gun range and Southie Frigate Oto-Breda Compact gun range.

Stop dragging this forum back to old data that we have repeatedly posted, use your google search engine or run away....because Nigerian OPV will sink the whole South African navy in few minutes of sea battle with our superior gun firepower ! grin grin

Because the navy has been tasked to patrol the waters in the Mozambiquean channel.

How?

Do you even know how the PJ-24 works?

So South African navy ordered to patrol Mozambique channel makes your navy a coast guard, according to your own logic.

How PJ-24 decoy works? How is that my problem? Do you know how Valour frigate decoys work?

Naija OPV PJ-24 decoy does the job that manufacturer made it to do....destroy ALL enemy anti-ship missiles.

GAME OVER, we win tongue tongue

Story has just begun !

I said Warrior class does not outrange P18N OPV because it is impossible for a small boat to stay at sea longer than a long endurance OPV.

Warrior class OPV carries fuel for 3,600 miles, but CANNOT stay at sea on voyage after 10 days, ENDURANCE limit.

Notice that I have corrected your Warrior class OPV range, its maximum 3,600 miles not 4,000 miles as you fraudulently claim !

P18N OPV carries fuel for 3,000 miles, but can stay at sea on voyage for 20 days, ENDURANCE limit.

Extra fuel in a ship's tank is useless once the time endurance at sea is ended, no more survival for the crew ! They die !

P18N can patrol around Gulf of Guinea for 20 days non-stop, Warrior class will patrol for ONLY 10 days and run back home grin grin

http://www.defenceweb.co.za/index.php?option=com_content&view=article&id=454

The power of an OPV is sustainable patrol time at sea, not extra fuel range when the sailors can no longer survive and ship engine must rest and CANNOT work continuously.

P18N 20 days max at sea

Warrior boat 10 days max at sea

That is why I said the P18N outranges the Warrior class, we double your endurance patrol time at sea. Proved !

No wonder South Africa is crying for project Biro, trying to become like Nigeria, them wanna be like us grin grin

You are the fraudster who said yesterday that P18N range is 2,000 miles, I demanded source and you changed story to 3,000 miles....Fraud, thief, Liar grin grin

TIME FOR A MATHS LESSON!!

Warrior class OPV

Range: 400nmi (7,400 km) at 18knts (32kmh)

7,400 divided by 32 = 231

Hence - it takes the warrior class 231 hours to cover 7400km (less than 10 days)

How many hours in 10 days? 240!

P18N range 3000nmi (5556km) at 18knts (32kmh)

5556 divided by 32 = 173

It takes 173 hours for the P18N to run out of fuel (7 days)

Conclusion: Warrior class outranges the P18N because it can patrol for ALL 10 days of its endurance while the P18N can only patrol for 7 days of its endurance

Bwahahaaha grin grin

Blue water South African navy has to stop along the way around Africa and beg for food, fuel, drinking water, soap to bath etc from Nigeria to help them sail around Africa.....fake blue water navy !

Nigerian navy will sail around Africa non-stop ! No begging for help !

NNS Thunder sea voyage endurance 45 days

SAS Amatola Valour frigate sea voyage endurance at sea 28 days

Now who is the real blue water navy that can sail round all coastal nations of Africa non-stop without help ? Nigerian navy !
.

Valour class dont have to stop aywhere

NNS Thunder is Hamiliton class OPV, endurance at sea is 45 days, repeated here since 2012 with citations. Google it.

Yes anti-missile decoys launched by Nigerian P18N OPV built to defeat all enemy anti-ship missiles.

If decoys were not effective, navies won't be investing in advanced decoys like our own.

lol... You crack me up, u your ignorance is spectacular. So this is your tactical advantage?. For the sake of argument lemme indulge you.

*NAF hind has exhibited NOE flying, take it or leave nobody cares.
* that depends on the size of the warship, if a sea-king, superpuma, v-22 osprey, NH19, MI-17 e.t.c can fit in warships so would the hind. Please stop disgracing your country.
*a backflip WTF! are you kidding me? What do you use that for in real combat? A hind can do barrel rolls for christ sake.
*hover in combat.... All helicopters hover, thats why its fvcking called a helicopter. Go back to primary school bro...
*advance evasive maneovers... So there is evasive maneovers and there is advanced evasive maneovers? A chopper isnt really fast compare to figter jets thats why you have flares and chaffs to confuse the SAM or enemy aircraft missiles... BTW if your helicopter comes in contact with enemy fighter jet then you've screwed up big time during your planning... So dude actually theres really no such tactical advantage here. Go back to kindergarten.

- hind taking off
- which of your warships can your hind land on?
- backflips can be an effective combat maneuver
- hovering in combat and hovering to land are very different things - hind makes gun runs like a fixed wing aircraft in combat because it lacks the maneuverability to use cover and hover
- fact remains, hind cannot do advanced evasive maneuvers

Already proved on this forum many times.

P18N 76 mm gun range 10 km effective

Valour frigate 76mm gun range 8 km effective.

NN will sink SAN at sea, Nigeria is the real blue water king ! tongue tongue
.

Valour Class has SSM's

Your OPV will be sunk by them

If you wish to claim that your chaff-launchers can defeat all 17 exocet missiles that the SAN has, then you need to provide proof.

11 obsolete helicopters, they even have only 11 units to defend a country bigger than Nigerian land size. How will they cover their territory?

The business of the navy is to prepare forces for naval warfare not patrol to be deployed under joint operations.

Lol. A certain un-named f00l is planning on firing unguided rockets into water using Alpha jets, in the hope of sinking a submarine grin.

Not to mention the fact that Umkhonto would have long shot down any Alpha jets nearby, before they can execute such a stu.pid plan.

- a hind can hover and fire its munitions... But it is advisable not to do so when it is carrying full load, because it stresses the airframe but when its not carrying heavy load it can hover in combat just fine... The USA apache cannot fire while on the move because accuracy is dramatically reduced so dat method has been dropped, that doesn't make it inferior to the hind.... http://www.engineeringnews.co.za/article/sa-air-defence-artillery-to-be-upgraded-by-german-group-2014-03-28

Article from 2014. Upgrade of Air Defence guns is set for completion in 2017.

Major German defence group Rheinmetall AG has announced that it has won a contract to modernise the South African Army’s (SA Army’s) air defence artillery systems. The value of the contract has not been revealed.

The modernisation contract, “signed several days ago,” in the words of the company announcement, includes the provision of Skyshield FCUs and the refitting of a number of the existing twin 35 mm guns so that they will be able to use Rheinmetall’s latest generation Ahead ammunition, giving them Mk VII status.

Each Ahead shell is composed of 152 tungsten spin-stabilised sub-projectiles, which, when released, form a cone-shaped metal cloud, placed so that the target, whether aircraft, missile or bomb, flies into it and is destroyed. Each shell knows when to detonate because its electronic timer is programmed, as it leaves the barrel, by an electromagnetic inductor in the gun muzzle. These inductors are fitted to the Mk VII guns.

The modernisation of the SA Army’s twin 35 mm gun air defence artillery falls under a programme designated as Gbads Phase II. Gbads stands for ground based air defence system.
