kandiikane:I agree with you on the issue of rights.A woman actually has the right to choose not to marry. If she does however,i just don't see how this right in a marriage will help the union. There will always be roles. 3 Likes |

thorpido: That's fine, let there be roles but for those who are not interested in such roles, they can live their lives without conforming to such roles. Is chidinma not married? Just like you believe it is wrong for roles to be changed, there are men who are not bothered with the roles and they do what works for their marriage. It's simple be with someone who share the same values with you but know that many of our generation will teach our children male or female the same roles equally, without any gender discrimination. 3 Likes |

thorpido:Nice. Don't mind all these hypocrite feminists. When gender roles was being deliberated, is it that we don't have women among the council or are they sleeping when they were given these roles or they picked these roles by themselves? 2 Likes |

kandiikane:Don't get me wrong,i don't have a problem with equality and i do not support gender discrimination. Like you said,it's a question of what works in each person's marriage. @bold.There can never be role equality in marriage. There's always going to be percentages which could swing in any direction. 1 Like |

missterious: You made a statement. Why are people so scared of the female nipp.le? It's no different from that of the male. This statement gives the impression of being true. The majority of us males and females here don't believe you. So to prove this statement isn't false you need to kindly show us your nipp1e. After all according to you 'it's no different from that of the male.' 5 Likes |

blublahd:@At your siggy, spot on! I keep reiterating that, and people think i'm confuse. Anyway, gender inequality is unexistence but sexism and misogyny. Individual inequality is what we have here and the equality can never be achieved. |

5minsmadness: Feminism also involves refusing to be blindsided by distractions from unenlightened humans & focusing on the important. I said it's a matter of preference. I can show you if I want to. I don't want to. |

thorpido: Is it such a bad thing? After all, that is what women do everyday. Or does that mean men are too weak to cope with it? |
Re: Being A Strong Woman Isnt Remarkable, It's Normal - Adichie by kandiikane(m): 5:31pm On May 30, 2015 |
thorpido: Like I said you are confused. You still do not get it, the whole point is not to do something just because you are a woman, one can still wash dishes but she should not do it because society has said that is her role but she does it because she is not a dirty human who wants her home riddled with cockroaches and mice. When you both work and come home late tired, you will not expect her to go in the kitchen and cook just because she is a woman. When you finish at 2 for example and she finishes at 7, it's common sense for you to say ooh, my wife will be tired, I should maybe run a bath for when she comes home and make something for her to eat. Same goes for a woman if it was the other way round. It does not matter who it is, whoever is at home more should make more of an effort for the tired spouse coming home, be it male or female. There are instances where the woman's job might require longer hours, so you should be considerate and realise she is human and not a donkey that has to do everything just because society says so. Even if both of you are home, you help each other out. There is nothing wrong in your partner saying, "hunny, please can you wash the plates or hunny, I feel like eating stew, can you make some" without you feeling like your manhood has been detached from your groin. 13 Likes |
