Patchesagain:your clever attempt to interrupt my punches isn't working. Zulu Bric is not a political alliance . it is an economic term for the next economic power players which eventually didn't materialize. South Africa which the coiner and founder of BRIC didn't include was never an authentic member although she was included into the team in 2010 almost 7 years after it was formed. However after poor infrastructural deficit and economic stagnation , international institutions and analysis had to agree with the original coiner O'Neil that south Africa isn't a member. Presently as I type this the membership of Russia and Brazil are in serious consideration. The membership of S.A is a debatable matter ; she was never an official member to begin with. Olé BRIC |

Patchesagain: I need a citation to confirm your private opinion of 60% hit probability, post proof by a technical source. Your opinion is NOT fact Bwahahaha....see Nigerian OPV making Patches to sweat on his laptop ! I thought you said Nigeria has no warship, why do you need Exocet missiles against a mere 'Coast Guard' according to you ? Are you so much afraid of Nigerian OPVs ? You need the whole of your navy war arsenal to fight against OPVs ? LOL....LOL 1. The HMS Sheffield is an old 1970 warship 2. Nigerian P18N are digital fully computerized 2014 warships 3. All ships of Royal navy hit by Exocets are NOT stealth ships, so they were easy to radar target 4. Nigerian P18N OPVs are stealth warships and invisible to radar at distance 5. The countermeasures in Falkland war ships are from 1970s generation, obsolete equipment 6. The countermeasures are about year 2000 new generation equipment with modern technology Exocet missiles get defeated by chaff " Exocet may not be invincible after all. Analysis of the Falklands conflict suggests that, after the crippling of HMS Sheffield, Royal Navy countermeasures were able to cope with the anti-ship missile. Extensive use was made of chaff-filled decoy rockets to produce false target echoes on Exocet's active-radar seeker. Exocets were launched on at least three occasions, each less successful than the last, suggesting that the Royal Navy has developed tactics which render the missile almost ineffective. " http://www.flightglobal.com/FlightPDFArchive/1982/1982%20-%201960.PDF Nigerian Navy OPVs will defeat ALL South African Exocet missiles. The combat will become gun battle. Nigerian OPV have superior gun firepower over South African frigates. Nigeria will sink Mandela's navy ! CASE CLOSED . |

agaugust: Take this rub.bish off this website, you fake. Useless fake. You think our Navy will fire Umkhonto missiles like they are cheap bullets? No missiles will be fired at any aircraft at the extreme range of Umkhonto, particularly since at extreme range (15km) your F-7 jets have nothing to hit us with. Umkhonto is fired at targets with a high probability of hitting, meaning one of your pilots has been stu.pid enough to get within range. What makes you think the battle will last 48 hours? 10 minutes is all we need. A South African submarine anywhere from 12-18 km away from your OPV will make easy work of it. 48 hours for what? And don't even dare come here with "Umkhonto and F-7 have the same speed".......you have proved time and time again that you are not technically inclined (e.g air pressure argument). You will be demolished. It's something called physics, not sure if you've heard of it. Example: An F-7 jet 15 km away (out of range of Umkhonto) flies at Mach 2 straight towards our Frigate, pretending to attack (in the hope that we fire and waste a missile). He has to get within 15 km for us to be even interested in firing at him. If he starts turning away BEFORE he enters 15 km diameter, it's obvious it's a fake attack. No missiles will be fired. He has to FIRST get into range of our missiles, hope we fire at him, THEN turn away. Do you know that at this point your pilot is already dead? The turn circle of your F-7 flying at Mach 2 will not be measured in meters. It will be measured in kilometers. Reason for this? G-Force. Centrifugal forces at Mach 2 are so high that your pilot will literally need kilometers to turn, at a reasonable G-Force (4-6 G's). Your soon to be dead pilot has created a massive turn circle within range of Umkhonto. To make things worse, for half of that turn he has a component of his velocity vector point straight to the frigate. Meaning at this point the closure speed between Umkhonto and F-7 is greater than Mach 2 (I know you don't understand that last sentence, but the others do). Your pilot is doomed. Unlike Umkhonto, he cannot make high speed, high G turns (40G at Mach 2). Same applies if the pilot gets into a dive from high altitude. Your fake attacks outside of Umkhonto range will be clearly fake to everyone. No missiles fired. Your fake attacks inside of Umkhonto range will result in nothing but pure death. 1 Like |

lezz: Dude, post away. I am done with you. You just arent worth the time or energy. We all know what BRICS is - an interstate organisation that co-operates and alignes economic and political policy to further domestic and regional economic growth. You may think that it is is a term or a definition, or whetever you want - you can base your entire argument on the opinion of one man. I dont care, you just arent worth the time or energy. Everyone knows what BRICS is, everyone knows how it works... you can continue to think that some economist in New York e-mailed the BRICS nations and told them that they are now an organization and must work together, and that he can break them up via e-mail. Its your problem not mine. This entire argument stems from the deep emotional pain you feel because Russia, China, India and Brazil chose South Africa over Nigeria. |

lezz: It should be noted that O'Neill grouped these nations together because they have the potential to form an influential economic bloc, and not because they represent a political alliance or a formal trading association. The nations, however, have met at an international relations summit annually since 2009. The first two conferences were referred to as the 2009 BRIC summit and 2010 BRIC summit. In 2010, South Africa was officially admitted as a BRIC nation following an invitation from China and the other BRIC nations. The current acronym is BRICS (with a capital "S" - Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa. Since 2011, the annual conference has been referred to as the BRICS summit. Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 5:15pm On May 30, 2015 |
saengine: Bwahahaahahaa Total rubbish ! F-7 does not need to fly the way you wish or want. We fly with our own tactics and experience. NAF pilots are battle experienced in air to ground attack after 6,000 combat sorties in 6 months...current experience. F-7 flies in entry at 9km above Valour frigate. Umkhonto missile maximum ceiling is 8km The F-7 gets close to Valour frigate about 2,000 km/hr not full speed. Changes to 7.5 km above the ship forcing the ship to defend and fire Umkhonto missile in vain.... F-7 gets SAM warning and changes to 9 km above ship in about 2 seconds. Umkhonto CANNOT attain full speed immediately, needs many seconds to accelerate from zero to mach 2....F-7 is back above missile ceiling. Missiles fail, saturation attack succeeds. Valour frigate will lose all it's air defence missiles. F-7 returns then to rocket the ship to sea bottom. Dude, we have been through this many times, lets not waste time. Another new threat has emerged to sink Valour frigates....PJ-46 and AK-176 on Nigerian stealth OPVs ! . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 5:17pm On May 30, 2015 |
agaugust: 1. What missiles will the F-7 use? How will it attack the valour class? 2. In combat a Valour Class carries over 30 SAM's How will your OPV sink a Valour class? |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 5:20pm On May 30, 2015 |
Patchesagain: Nope, you are the one saying decoy will not defeat missile, so prove it ! I have done enough, last war history of missile vs decoy, the decoys defeated the missiles. So since you have a different opinion, prove it with source. Also show us source for 60% hit rate for Exocet. Not all the missiles exploded, not all hit target, not all the ships had decoys, not all the ships used their decoys, NONE of the ships is even stealth to avoid radar tracking.....60% is a bad bad poor hit rate for a missile. Prove to us that modern decoys cannot defeat modern missiles that the manufacturer built them to defeat....Prove your claim ! Burden of proof is on you....so post source to beat the decoy manufacturers ! We are waiting 1 . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 5:23pm On May 30, 2015 |
Patchesagain: Yes you did, you said they have a 60% hit ratio and you gave no source to prove it . |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 5:24pm On May 30, 2015 |
agaugust: I never said the decoy will not defeat the missile. Quote me where I said it!! I asked what the effectiveness of your decoy system is!! You run away and refuse to answer!! War history? Falklands war where 3 out of 5 of the Argentine missiles hit ships, sinking 2 and damaging one. Same war where you said Chaff defeats exocet!! 3/5 missiles = 60% I posted that with the citation earlier - clear war history that chaff only affects the Exocet 40% of the time!! So Valour class will sink your OPV. Proven by "war history"!!! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 5:25pm On May 30, 2015 |
agaugust: War history is the source Argentina had 5 exocet 3 hit targets 2 sunk ships 1 damaged a ship so badly it was taken out of action. 3/5 = 60% War history proves it!! |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by lezz(m): 5:26pm On May 30, 2015 |
Patchesagain:Patrick you just lack deductive reasoning. Despite the fact that what you quoted has been overtaken by facts, it is still a pointer that south Africa is a back door member whose membership has been generally agreed to be unmerited both by O'Neil , fellow bric members and international economic analysts. Tell me if bona FIDE members like Russia and Brazil are currently facing membership expulsion , why are you doubting the membership nullification of an ordinary invitee like south Africa? Reason: because you are patchesagain who is allergic to facts and NEVER owns up. |
Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 5:27pm On May 30, 2015 |
Patchesagain: War history did not say 60%, you joggled the figures by your own opinion. Like you said a helicopter taking off in desert sand raises no dust ! Hit rate on target is NOT calculated by people like you, it is done by equipment manufacturer on specs datasheet for user appraisal. Post me a source from Exocet manufacturer for it's hit probability. . |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by agaugust: 5:34pm On May 30, 2015 |
Patchesagain: That tells you that NOT ALL the British ships had decoy or used their decoys. The ships that used their decoys defeated Exocet missile. That is from a source, British navy, not me. Your own 60% rate is from you not a technical source. Show me real source with tech specs....5 Exocets fired, 2 ships sank....LOL...me too can say hit rate is 2/5 = 40 % . |

Re: Who Has The Strongest Military In Africa? by Patchesagain: 5:40pm On May 30, 2015 |
agaugust: actually, according to your own source - exocet hit rate is 100% Exocets were launched on at least three occasions, each less successful than the last, suggesting that the Royal Navy has developed tactics which render the missile almost ineffective.
