LETTER TO MR. PRESIDENT His excellency, the President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari (GCON). As a matter fact, you being addressed with this noble title again is indeed a rare opportunity and is a thing that calls for a personal reflection over your past years. This should remind you of your past efforts followed by failures and in fact it is capable of making you ponder over the circumstance that led to your victory in this very general election. It bothers my mind, each time I remember that Nigerians who had earlier refused to give you their support in the previous three general elections, could turned out in such a significant numbers to vote you in as their newly elected president after twelve years of continual trial and failure. The CCB has never released the information concerning the assets of public officers because the NA is yet to promulgate a law/bill that staes the Terms and Conditions required to make the assets available to the public.

If he doesn't publicly declare his assets right now, then undoubtedly he has the intention of looting the treasury before making his assets public. So much for incorruptible Buhari.

I wouldn't have had any problem if the Media Aide of Buhari didn't LIE that Buhari has "fulfilled" his pledge by declaring with CCB..

"By declaring their assets, the statement said that President Buhari and Vice President Osinbajo may have not only fulfilled the requirements of the Nigerian Constitution, but also fulfilled the first of their many campaign promises."----Alh Shehu Garba, Media Aide to Buhari

Why is Buhari team playing on Nigerians intelligence ?

You are very on point and as such, buhari has done what is required of him by law.

He has fulfilled one of his campaign promises on asset declaration.

Once the modalities are fine-tuned, public part of asset declaration would be enforced.
Re: Why Buhari Didn’t Make Assets Public – Aides by Brugo(m): 6:55am On Jun 01, 2015
Buhari has fulfilled the requirements of the law. The Code of Conduct Bureau is reviewing his submission.

Even the PDP has decided to wait before criticising him on this matter. When the bureau is through with verification, the declaration will be PUBLISHED in their gazette.

PDP thugs on Nairaland need to rest their puny brains. Buhari cannot jump the gun. There are procedures. This is not the disorganised government of GEJ. Be advised.

You would think the much touted anti corruption czar buhari would be very eager to make his assets public as promised instead of playing all this game of hide and seek.
If everybody choose to be deceived, i refuse to be deceived.

It's no LIE by law, declaring with CCB means you've publicly declared. The only thing working against him is the Nigerian understanding of public declaration which to them is publishing it on the pages of newspapers.

I think Nigerians should give them the benefit of the doubt, I mean what's the worse that could happen ??

I'm sure it will hit the papers if not today, within the week. Even Olisah Metuh knows this and that's why he's keeping mute on the issue for now.

Don't mind him.
He thinks he has made a smart post.
The smart buhari goons have avoided this thread, something i expect will be a constant feature in the next 4 years.
The few remaining mindless hordes here are the stark and irredeemable illiterates.

DO it now. why within 100 days? u want to pay off the debts you incured during campaign with our commonwealth before declaring ur assets and liabilities. Fighting corruption indeed.

It is really depressing that some Nigerians are saying Buhari should not declare his assets publicly. What happened to the promise he made during campaign to declare it publicly?

Are we saying it is ok to break campaign promises?
We know some of the campaign promises were stupid and will be impossible to fulfil like making 1 naira to be equal to 1 dollar and like stabilising global oil price, but declaring his assets is a easy promise to keep.

Perhaps you should say, they should publish their assets on the papers, which I believe they will eventually. But they have done the needful by declaring with CCB which is same as declaring publicly as anybody can get the information upon request from CCB
