I've been having a tough time getting a mate for my female ridgeback is why I'm looking at buying one, so first choice is actually a mate....

The 1st question is "why do you want to breed?", the 2nd question is "what do you intend to achieve or improve in the breeding?". If you can't honesty justify this 2questions, in my candid opinion, it's not advisable you breed. To start with, your bitch is a mix of 2unrelated breed, and you intend mating her. With what breed and what breed do you intend producing? All you will av is a litter of mutt that on the long run pollute the little existing gene pool of pure bred dogs in nigeria, thus adding to the number of mongrels/stray dogs in the country. So brother, I will advise you don't breed her. Just love her unconditionally, regardless. If you want to breed, try getting a pure bred dog and do things right. Maybe your vet was too shy and not blunt enough to tell the truth to your face. Hope this lil advice helps. Cheers

Thank you for your advice.
The vet told me to get a Rhodesian Ridgeback (her dad's was one and she has the ridge line).
By the way when I said American fox I never mentioned american fox as a dog I meant a FOX . Her mum is 80% fox and the pup was given to us as a gift.
So this mix does not pollute the bloodline of anything it is first of it's kind of exotic or whatever it is called since the mother was brought into the country by supposed experts for a certain individual for the purpose of crossing her with a dog.
So since I have been lazy about getting a Ridgeback and following up with her vet I decided to ask for one available for mating here.
Do you now understand the predicament now? Can you give me pointers to getting a ridgeback in Lagos for breeding purpose?
