Buhari To Visit Chad, Niger, Wednesday, For Boko Haram Talks by Islie: 5:26pm On Jun 01, 2015
President Muhammadu Buhari will this week make his first foreign trip since taking office, travelling to Chad and Niger for talks on Boko Haram, his spokesman said on Monday. Shehu Garba said the two-day trip starting on Wednesday will focus on “matters of security”, with the cooperation of Nigeria’s neighbours seen as crucial to ending the Islamist uprising which has claimed more than 15,000 lives since 2009.
Buhari was sworn in last Friday and vowed in his inaugural speech to crush the insurgent group he described as “mindless” and “godless”.
But Boko Haram attacked some 12 hours after the new president took the oath of office, hitting homes in the key northeast city of Maiduguri with rocket-propelled grenades overnight on Saturday.
Later, a suicide attack at a mosque in the city, which is the Borno state capital, killed at least 26 people. Suspicion immediately fell on the insurgents. The militants then raided two towns in Borno’s neighbouring state of Yobe on Sunday, torching public buildings and looting food and fuel stores. Niger shares a border with both Borno and Yobe while Chad borders just Borno in Nigeria’s extreme northeast.
Former president Goodluck Jonathan’s administration had long complained that Nigeria’s neighbours were not doing enough to contain Boko Haram as they fled military pursuit by crossing porous borders. A four-nation offensive that also includes Cameroon has won significant victories since February but there are fears of Boko Haram regrouping, especially in remote border areas.
Buhari said little regarding his specific plans for regional security cooperation other than to thank the three nations for their efforts to date. Chadian President Idriss Deby has publicly mocked Nigeria’s counter-insurgency efforts under Jonathan and called for greater cooperation. Buhari, a former army general who headed a military regime in the 1980s, is seen by most observers as a more robust commander-in-chief than Jonathan.

We need their cooperation backed with serious actions to send a statement to those blood sucking demons that its not going to be as it was before.

Time for dilly dallying has passed and its now for total action

I thought APC said Nigeria has nothing to discuss with Chad and Niger as regarding boko haram. Many of these almajiris were complaining of a Nigerian President travelling to these small countries for talks. Maybe their President is going on a thank you tour.

What is he going there to do? He berated gej for visiting chad, he said it is a disgrace for us to involve other countries in the fight against boko haram, he has now embraced that same disgrace. Baba One Chance na elenu meji (double speak, hypocrite).

The APC children of anger too condemned GEJ now they are praising their messiah for doing what gej has done countless times.

General Buhari should focus on the job, all these senrenre is becoming too much. If he can't do the job, he should resign abeg. I'm tired of seeing paper progress.

meanwhile,

one day an atheist went to a court and reported a
case that easter, christmas, passover and new year
holidays should be
cancelled because they are all holidays for the
christians and for the jews, his annoyance was
that there was no holiday
for the atheists.on hearing his selfish plea the
judge said mr man i think you have nothing to
say,kindly go back home
and have a nice rest.then his lawyer angrily
opposed the judge saying but this man is right he
has no holiday and for
justice to be served all other holidays must be
cancelled.the judge laughed and said "havent you
heard that on the
first of april is april fools day? and psalms 14:1
says he who says in his heart there is no God is a
fool . so what
other explanation do you need . april fools day is
your day because you are a fool . . . . ha ha ha

It’s a disgrace that neighbours must take on Boko Haram –Buhari

Posted by: Our Reporter in Featured, News February 7, 2015

Presidential flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Gen. Muhammadu Buhari is appalled that neighbouring Chad and Cameroun are turning out to be more successful at the battle front against Boko Haram than Nigeria.

Nigeria’s poor performance,he says,is a disgrace.

“It’s a big disgrace for Nigeria. It is now Cameroon and Chad fighting the insurgency more than Nigeria. We will build the capacity and Nigeria should be able to secure its territorial integrity,” Buhari told Reuters.

Troops from neighbouring Chad, Niger and Cameroon, all much smaller and poorer than Nigeria, have been battling the terrorists who have seized territory in Borno State.

Niger Republic said yesterday its troops killed 109 Boko Haram fighters in an attempted attack on Bosso close to the border with Nigeria.

The attack was repelled.

The disgrace is Nigeria's poor performance in the battle against Boko Haram.

Don't worry, President Buhari is very focused on the task of ruling Nigeria, have you ever seen him giving PDP tantrums any attention? Upon all the noise about his certificate, the hate campaigns by AIT, Fayose, Olisa Metuh, Doyin Okupe, FFK, did you hear him take any notice of them?

Buhari can never be distracted by background noise.
