So many plastic fans in Nigeria. Mtschew...

For me, I still stand by the Flying Eagles. We are carting p the trophy.

same thing I was thinking smiley Win or Lose, I will continue to follow this team as I have experienced more happiness and peace of mind with this team than any other male national team in Nigeria in recent times. One loss out of 44 matches is nothing, if this was a boxing record, such a boxer will be as popular as Floyd Mayweather Jr, Manny Pacquiao and the rest tongue

One love Super Flying Eagles I dey your back kakaraka! smiley

A draw would be good enough to qualify. Infact, depending on how the last round of matches go, they could go as the best loser.

I don't pray so though.

Safarigirl hates Ghana? Are you serious at all? Was it not the same Safari Girl that stood her grounds here firmly that this thread is not just for Nigerians but also for Ghanaians (Ghanians)? Or you just want to instigate another e-war here? Bro pls be serious. Am yet to recover from the shock defeat to my darling Super Flying Eagles, let alone engage in an e-war here. Thanks.

if they can,t win Korea and Hungary then :x. Anyway I'm confident they'll discharge the remaining competition. Congrats to Ghana by the way. Pretty good game, didn't watch it though, but Argentina must have scored in the last 15 minutes. The game was out of their reach.

Plastic fans everywhere!! Can't believe d way some people support this team. Just 1 loss and the criticism has started, some even writing the team off. Is dat not too fast!!! Anyone that watch the first half against Brazil will know what the team can do.

Thing will definitely change after our Korean. That is just the perfect match for the boys to get their confidence and morale back. But I really pity the korean boys because this is the wrong time for them to meet the wounded *LionS*. The plastic fans will start hailing the team again after the korean game.

Best 4 of the 6 third placed teams will also qualify making them 16 teams in 2nd Round. Not sure Argentina will qualify with 2 points. It will be a first. They have to win.

Thought he was referring to Ghana. Yeah, Argentina has to win Austria who beat Panama that Argentina could only draw with.

Big task!

That argentina team is shitty, overhype team. How did they even win the south america championship. They may not even reach the next round. This is one of their weakest team in U-20 in recent years.

Great one from ghana!

Flying Eagles vow to bounce back

Flying Eagles led by skipper Musa Mohammed have vowed to will get their U20 World Cup campaign back on track with a win in Thursday’s Group E clash against North Korea after a loss to Brazil.

The African champions fell 4-2 to five-time champions Brazil in their opening group game on Monday.

“We wish to apologise to Nigerians that we lost to Brazil, but we will make it up against North Korea. We will win on Thursday,” said skipper Mohammed.

“We have spoken to ourselves and you will see the result in our next game.”

Manchester City starlet Kelechi Iheanacho said he expects a tougher resistance from the Koreans after they also lost their opening game 5-1 to Hungary.

“It won’t be easy against Korea especially after they lost so woefully to Hungary, but we also know we need ro win, no matter the margin,” Iheanacho said.

“Good enough the loss to Brazil does not mean the end of our campaign in New Zealand.”

Goalkeeper Joshua Enaholo said he will not dwell on his mistakes against Brazil as his focus is now on Thursday’s game against North Korea.

“Yesterday is in the past. We are now all looking ahead to the next game on Thursday,” said the goalkeeper, who was voted the best goalkeeper at the African Youth Championship in Senegal in March.

I wonder why some fans even think 'What if we dont beat North Korea and Hungary?'
WHAAAAAATTTTT!!!!!!!
Are u guys kidding me? There're no 'IFs' with this team. This team is 'CHAMPIONS MATERIAL' AND THEY ARE GONNA SHUT U ALL UP. It's true we're the youngest team in NZ BUT WE'RE THE DEADLIEST AND MOST LETHAL AS WELL. I'm yet to see a team in this tournament that will survive the comeback firepower and super arsenal/weaponry of the 'SUPER' FLYING EAGLES... Now listen carefully y'all... All of u 'thermometer fans' who changes with the weather. I speak not to the 'thermostat fans' coz like me, they know what the end result of this tournament will be on June 20.
This is how the rest of the tournament will go...
Nigeria to upset Kim jung un by spelling 'North Korea' (10-0). Think we'll concede? I dont think so...
Hungary(one of the oldest teams in this tournament age-wise alongside Germany, Brazil, and North Korea) will be so 'dismantled' by nothing less than 5goals(it may be 6, 7, or even 8 but it will certainly not be below 5).
In the Round of 16, we'll most likely face the Germans (led by Julian Brandt, Akpoguma and the rest of them) and The Flying Eagles will surely triumph by nothing less than 3goals... THIS WILL BE THE GAME THAT SENDS THE STRONGEST HINT/SIGNAL TO THE REST OF THE WORLD OF OUR INTENT TO CONQUER IN NZ.
In the Quarterfinals, we'll likely face whoever wins grp A (if they survive their 2nd round tie against any of the 3rd placed teams they'll be paired against), likely to be U.S.A. but if not then the team the U.S. Falls to. WHATSOEVA TEAM IT IS, THE SUPER FLYING EAGLES WILL TRIUMPH IN STYLE.
In the semi-finals, WE'LL LIKELY FACE THE BRAZILIANS AGAIN AND THIS TIME, WE'LL PUT THEM IN THEIR PLACE. Right where they belong... BELOW US!!!!!
In the Final, It may be Uruguay, Ghana, Argentina or Mexico. Whosoeva it will be... THEY WILL 'INEVITABLY' FALL AND IHEANACHO, YAHAYA, SUCCESS, AWONIYI, MOSES, MUHAMMED, SOKARI, NDIDI, NWAKALI, EZEH, AND THE REST WILL WRITE THEIR NAMES IN PURE GOLD AT THIS LEVEL..... And even beyond. The technical crew led by Manu Garba will become the finest ever seen and known.

THIS IS THE FORECAST... Mark my words.

BUT HEY! Let's have it one game at a time(i.e step by step) shall we? *BIG SMILES*
THIS TEAM IS FAST EVOLVING INTO THE GREATEST AND FINEST SOCCER TEAM EVER KNOWN AND SEEN.
*pls dont 4get I am the first to say all this... Coz wen it happens... I knw a lot of pple will come out to say 'I told u so didn't I'...
Look y'all it's not difficult to distinguish a great team from a good team... A bientot!

Flying Eagles visit children at New Plymouth hospital

Flying Eagles players paid a visit to the children’s ward of the New Plymouth Hospital as part of their community service organised by the local organising committee for the U20 World Cup in New Zealand.

The players were Kelechi Iheanacho, Taiwo Awoniyi, Chidera Ezeh, Bernard Bulbwa and Izu Omego.

They were led by Flying Eagles media officer Samm Audu and team laison officer Chris McIvor.

They spent about an hour at the hospital during which time they signed autographs, played indoor football, spent time with some of the young patients and posed for photos with them.

A deeply touched Bulbwa gave young cancer patient Josephine $100, while Iheanacho also donated cash to some of them.

“I like children and so I was happy to come and put a smile on the faces of some of them who are ill,” said Iheanacho.

“I hope they all get well quickly and return to school.”

The hospital workers praised how “engaging” the players were with the young patients.

NIgerian fans can be such i-d-i-o-t-s. A team loses for the first time in 2 years and they have become rubbish. How many of the s-t-u-p-i-d foreign clubs you support can go 44 matches unbeaten?

I shake my head for all these plastic fans.

I have unshakeable faith in this team.
