(And I am not a fan of the NPF....but I know it is an exaggeration to say they are all bad. Most of the time...they cannot do their job well because of lack of facilities...or because some Nigerians use connections to get that chap jailed for assault out of prison)

Not too long ago, a man in Kano was brutally assaulted by a local tough. The Police tried to arrest him.He was hidden by his family.

Also...the chaps who were responsible for the 1999 UniIfe debacle.....who freed them? The Police?(No). Connections(Yes!).

Our Police force is bad...but most of the time it is due to lack of equipment and lack of a good society.

An unidentified body is found somewhere. The American Police would use databases to identify the corpse in days. Nigeria Police does not have that luxury, Whose fault?

I have been in police stations in this country twice (long story) and I got politely treated both times....and neither was particularly close to the seat of power.

I have also had raw deals from the police twice too. Fortunately no arrest.

And yes...I know the Police is not perfect.
