South Africa CANNOT even deal with local Rhino poachers. What COIN can you do in 2015 when you fail at home !
.

Poachers are not a military concern

If people had the internet during world war 1 someone would've said tanks have no future in warfare cause they keep breaking down.

It is. I hope you do know Canada has pulled out it's order for 65 planes, and is instead looking at the Gripen E/F and Rafale as replacements.

Your Tank comparison is inaccurate. Right from the start, it was clear that the British had invented the world's greatest equipment.

Armed UGV'S are just not it. Asides providing covering fire, i see no other use for them.

American training is good.

Leadership is the problem is those organisations.

American training is no good. It just doesn't work!

The Iraqis abandoned over 2300 armoured vehicles in Mosul, in a fighting ratio of 11:1 in favour of the Iraqi army. This is a fighting force that had received extensive American training.

You absolutely cannot blame this on poor leadership.

Reports the Canadians deny

Unmanned and armed ground vehicles have multiple uses, from IED/Mine detection, urban recon, perimeter defense and CBN detection

The one that most sticks out is perimeter defence - you could set them up on pre-determined patrol routines, and have them activate to a centralized controll module when something is detected. Meaning that one man can operate and manage as many sentries as you want.

I dont understand your obsession with the F-35, I can only assume you dont understand its role or are not fully aware of its capabilities. And for the love of god stop going on about "its not stealthy" - stealth is not its primary focus, it is simply a design feature.

Sea USV are highly useful and have been used before the word "drone" become famous.

USV's like UGV's are terribly useless. Only the IDF is a significant user, even at that, there limitations are well detailed in IDF use.

Henry

I told you before

I will tell you again.

Iraqi troops with American training are not involved in front-line combat - they are wisely being held in reserve.

Currently it is militia (shia) and domestically trained men (read: militia in Iraqi army uniforms)

And yes - it is literally because of poor leadership.

You forget that the Iraqi army went from ZERO men in ~2005 to 283,000 in less than a decade. Standards have to be VERY low to build up that kind of manpower. It takes generations to build up the skills and human capital for an effective army.

As for American training - consult with the Germans, Koreans, Isrealy's, Columbians and Japs about the quality of American training.

And India just reduced the number of Rafales it is going to buy, cause they wanna funds to purchase some local aircraft.

So?

- The South Koreans didnt have any real sort of Army before the Americans provided assistance.

How did the South Korean Army fare DURING the war?

What is the state of ROK forces now?

How did ROK forces perform in Veitnam?

- Is FARC on its knees or not? Yes or no!

- Is Kobani still under seige?

- US trained Iraq troops have not been involved in the fighting.

- Are American combat forces in Iraq? I ask again, if US COIN policy is so bad, point to one country they have been pushed out of.

- Again, I like how you held back on mentioning that the JDF, Bundeswehr and IDF

Henry, you hate for America is so transparent - all because they wouldent sell you weapons and cut their training aid to you. As usual Nigerians display their overly emotional nature.

Nigeria cancelled the training with the Americans, and not the other way round. Get your facts right.

*that's a legitimate reason to hate the Americans. American deception and hypocrisy stinks to high heavens.

However, that's not the reason why I think American training is sh1t. It simply is, and I have given enough reasons and actual instances why American training is largely ineffective.

- South-Korea was getting their a$ses handed to them in the Korean war before American intervention.

In a battle with the North with outside interference I see same thing happening again. Hi-tech of photographs don't mean effective.

- Farc controls a large chunk of Colombia, despite years after years of American Training, equipment and favour. Militarily Farc is still very effective and are no way on their knees.

- Kobani is rubble..... after over 1000 largely ineffective airstrikes. they broke the siege alright...... as well as the city. nitwit!

- whatever you mean by U.S trained iraqi troops..... the Iraqi Army is completely U.S setup and virtually U.S trained you m0ron!!

- do you even understand what COIN is?

- Japan, Germany all had and still have large very experienced militaries. Nothing to do with the U.S.

- South Korea got very little support from America before the war.

In a war with the North (without Nukes) the ROK would fvcking curb-stomp the North. Are you insane? Do you think a paltry 1,7 million half starved peasants with obsolete weapons stand a chance against 3,5 million men with some of the most advanced equipment on the face of the planet?

Dude, you are beyond delusional if you think that the North stands a snowballs chance in hell against the South!! One Sejong The Great destroyer is enough to down half the north korean Airforce!!

- FARC are literally on their knees and have been forced to the negotiation table.

- No US trained troops are involved in the fighting around Ramadi
http://www.militarytimes.com/story/military/pentagon/2015/05/28/no-us-trained-troops-in-iraqs-new-fight-for-ramadi/28083677/

- Again, is Kobani still under siege? No? Ok then. Those "innefective airstrikes" not only stopped ISIS in its tracks - but broke its back and allowed the Kurds to break out of the pocket!

- Yes, I understand COIN - we are the people your government pay to teach you about it. Now answer the question - list successfull insurgencies that have pushed American combat troops out of their zones and have lead to a succesfull insurgency. Please say Veitnam, fvcking please

- German, Japanese, Korean and Isrealy militarys are amongst the top 10 most powerfull in the world - thanks to US training and doctrine.

Americans built the initial core - the Iraqi's built the rest themselves

German and Japanese Armies were disbanded after WW2 - and rebuilt by the Americans in the 1950's.
