The Flying Eagles have put behind them the disappointment from the loss to Brazil and Tuesday morning’s training at the Manukorihi Park was highly spirited.

However, striker Isaac Success, who on Monday became the first Nigerian player to score against the South Americans at this level of international football, and Ifeanyi Matthew stayed out of the training.

[b]Success complained of tightness on his hamstring, while Matthew is nursing a left foot injury he suffered in the Brazil clash.

Giwa FC goalkeeper Olorunleke Ojo was outstanding as an outfield player for the second team as he dished out some long-range passes.

The team will have their final training for the Korea match on Wednesday morning.

Tuesday cheer for the squad came when they enjoyed a meal of pounded yam and vegetable soup provided by Auckland-based James Rotimi and his family.

Rotimi from the school of engineering AUT University drove down five hours with his wife, Funmi, and their three children to serve the Flying Eagles a delicious lunch.

“My wish is that we get this type of lunch all the way to the end of the tournament,” dreamed defender Izu Omego, who has struggled to adapt with the dishes served in both Germany and New Zealand. [/b]

I do not think we lost because of a tactical error, even though we could question Coach Garba's tactics. We lost because of individual error.

If Awoniyi buried the goal before the Brazilians scored, it would have been a different story.

The Brazilians gained two goals because of mistakes of the goal keeper. I think most criticism should not be directed towards coach Manu Garba and his crew.

unlike u im not a plastic fan, the coach made a mistake in his formation in the match against brazil resulting to the defeat, lets play that match again brazil will not do a double over us. u dont play 3 strikers in a match against a team like brazil leaving ur midfield and defence vulnerable, that exactly was what the coach did. he choked upfront with 3 strikers thereby negletting the middle and the defence felt the brunt of the attacks from the Brazilians. if u watch and understand football very well u will understand what im talking about. this is the African champs we re talking about here, i can beat my chest and tell u that we will not lose any match again en-route to the final. these boys have gone 45 match unbeaten prior to our last match. i can see u re not a fan of these boys but one of those football watchers that criticize and lose hope when a team falter. bro believe in ur team, the boys have been stung, they ll fight like wounded lions from now, give it to my boys, they are good, forget the lose to Brazil. the land is green. Playing Nacho as a wing forward have not been tested with this team. It is the logical option. Any combination with Nacho will be experimental unless we're leaving him out of the line up.

About the match.
On waking up by 2 to see d lineup, i was disappointed kinda. Manu wanted a massacre of the Brazilian team by selecting that setup. But he made a mistake though.
He doesn't know how the Brazilians play so it was a risk too much.
I was expecting him to make a change by half time to correct his tactics.
**My tactical deductions from the match**
The Brazilian coach was brilliant. He knew about the strength of the team lies in its midfield and speedy forwards, so he deployed a very high defensive line. Their defensive line was as high as 3/4 of their own side of the pitch. To my surprise, our team was trying to play in through balls which were either cut out or our players were caught offside. We had like 7 offsides. Reason we played that way was cause there was no carrier in the midfield. Someone to carry the ball from the midfield to link the strikers.
Manu should v sacrificed playing both Success and Awoniyi together to bring on someone like Sokari. The 2 midfielders too were not doing enough to assist the defenders. Not their fault though, they were drawn out of position by the brilliant Brazilians.
The goalkeeper, apart from his mistakes was poor in his distributions safe for the long throw that prompted the counter attack for our second goal. He'll bounce back though.
I still believe in this team but i still see them suffering against organised teams unless Manu learns to adopt a second option to his tactics.
