n chinolization: The thing tire me o. I don't know if old Enugu-Osha road is narrow? That road is wider than presidential road, ogui road, ziks' avenue and Okpara avenue in Enugu. Maybe their only grouse is that there is no artificial demarcation to make it answer dualized road. Awka road in Onitsha is as wide as Ogui road in Enugu. We can criticize the government for not building pedestrian walkways, but basing the argument on the narrowness is what I won't subscribe to. 3 Likes |

I dislike all these talk about narrow roads. Till date Anambra has the best road network in Nigeria and that's due to efficient utilization of resources while avoiding white elephant double lane projects which always involves paying compensation to a community to acquire their land. Please also stop insulting Peter obi,he is the best governor we had and nobody is perfect. When peter started doing roads in omoba phase 1 and phase 2 olo street, umunya street I knew he was spreading development. Even internal roads in woliwo and awada. These are areas which suffered neglect for many years. 8 Likes |

ACM10:You are praising narrow roads and at the same time disappointed by the rate of development in Awka. We may all have different meanings of development. Those roads especially the ones in Awka, Nnewi are onitsha are the height of mediocrity. What is worth doing is worth doing well. In 5 or more years time, most of those roads will be broken down and begging for reconstruction. 3 Likes |

The question is, are the roads really narrow or the mischief makers are trying hard to make us believe otherwise. For me I will rank the governors in this order Ngige is good, Obi is better and Obiano is the best(going by his farts so far). Some of the best road networks can only be found in Anambra. I want to see this sort of quality roads elsewhere but people will not like to talk about it! Why is that? yang: 1 Like

FreeGlobe: On the heels of the ever-growing interest by potential investors in support of the programmes of the governor Obiano administration in Anambra State, Wife of the governor, Chief (Mrs.) Ebelechukwu Obiano has urged potential investors especially wealthy Anambra indegenes to emulate the example of the proprietor of Awka Wonderland and Ausco Farms Limited, Chief Austin Ndigwe and bring home investments to the state to help create employment and grow the state economy. ACM10: Imagine what the guy is writing that Uba has a kerosene depot in Nnewi, where is depot now, the last time I saw Uba selling fuel was Capital Oil Borromeo Roundabout. He said Andy Uba and Chris Uba have investments in Anambra and started listing village houses. Even my family village houses at Okija almost 20 rooms without occupants, you call that an investment. Last month I visited my villa and fumigate the compound because the place is not economically viable cus nobody stays there except Xmas or ceremonies. Tell the guy to list all the investments all the so called Ubas have in Anambra that employ people the way Orange Drug from another State is doing in their own (Ubas) State, Anambra. ACM10:You are sincere and straightforward. Anambra is indeed improving though not yet there, I hate it when people are just comfortable with whatsoever they see or get. Discuss with any anambra peeps why/how our government should sweep and keep our roads clean and hear them say stuffs like "at least they manage to build roads, is it not just sand dunes, what did the previous government do? we will manage it like that." For how long are we going to be like this So we have to swallow any shabby projects without criticising constructively simply because the past administration didn't do as much as this present one or maybe because we have too many peter obi lovers? I don't care about narrow roads just give us a standard and solid narrow roads. 3 Likes

chinolization:No doubt about the network of roads, Whether tarred or not, the reason for that is the fact that down the memory lane we have been blessed with a vibrant town unions. One of the notable foundational activities of the town unions, predating indepence is collective marking out Lands to be used as roads, for schools, for churches, markets and interconnects from one town to another. That type of cooperation is lacking in some other zones But at the time greed and selfishness crept in, indigenous land owners at Awka, Nnewi felt it was a waste to make out the atleast 30 feet for roads, that was the origin of narrow roads. Now, apart from Government layouts and a few other private layouts, many artery roads in Awka, Onitsha and Nnewi are irritatingly narrow. Annoyingly, the Government tarred the roads like that without any effort to maybe get some feet left or right (expansion ) of the roads, most of which can be gotten without damage beyond fences Obi is no better than Ngige. If not for anything Ngige is more quality oriented and very strict when it comes to standards. I remember when he came to supervise a particular road in 2004, RCC had a plan of a drainage. Ngige said No it must be dual drainage and over 10 years down it's paying off 4 Likes |

chinolization: looooooooool A lane Roads in Harbour can nearly accommodate a stadium now, the roads are badtest vast. Obi chop money at Harbour Layout, I lives at Iyiowa I know the place like the back of my scrotum now. When the road was bad the entire Ogbaru LG had no roads, Ngige started Atani Road and was removed before he got to the bridge, Obi came and stopped work, Etiaba came and took it down to Iyiowa, when Obi came back he too it to different level, he turned Harbour into a worldclass industrial layout with massive road expansion. Obi took the Atani Road leftward to bust out at Ozubulu beside Jerome Udoji building along Onitsha-Owerri Road and straight to Ogwu Ikpele to Ogwu Aniocha to the border between Anambra and Rivers State with countless Bridges because those areas are swampy and riveline communities. Until you visit Ogbaru LG you will know what stuff Obi is made of. 8 Likes 1 Share |

Yes! Ndoni in Rivers state has a common boundary with Atani (Ogbaru) in Anambra state. They have similar culture and language. Peter Odili attended CKC Onitsha and he is from Ndoni and his ancestral origin was once traced to Ogbaru. I don't know if that is political or not. Ogbaru equally has as much crude oil deposit likewise Ndoni in Rivers. FreeGlobe: 6 Likes |

FreeGlobe:Anambra has some long stretch of boundary with Ndoni part of Rivers State. Down Ogbaru LGA, as a matter of fact, Ndoni in Rivers State was part of Ogbaru Zone in the immediate pre-independence era and remained so for years Peter Odili wanted to connect the bridges and roads but was advised not to do so at the peak of his battles in Rivers State, they said he is Igbo and that altered his initial plans 6 Likes |

chizobamgbume: The picture should be Fegge, Fegge is precolonial Onitsha. The same way Old Aba Town, Asata and Old Port Harcourt town look like. The problem with our precolonial heritage is our lack of maintainace culture in Nigeria, those roads need their drainages to be covered not the roads to be dualize, if you had visited Ebutte Metta in Lagos the place just look like Fegge of the 90s, all the streets are interconnected and no buildings were fenced. I love Fegge. Fegge now is longer retaining those pre-colonial footprints because those bungalows and one storey buildings with British styled architecture are being demolished daily with reckless abandone to give ways for our so called "Igbotic" highrise residential houses. I visited the street(Abagana Street) where my friend was staying with his family when we were still in secondary school back then and discovered the building have been sold and a gigantic 5 storey building is standing there now. Fegge is shedding off her colonial heritage likewise Odakpu. 2 Likes |

FreeGlobe: Wisdom is a virtue and you don't have it that's why spend valuable time attacking ndi Olisa megolu eze. Development is a continuum and what Obi did were in stages:short time and long time development of all sectors. He did not abandon any sector because they are all important. Not that you don't know these but your mischievousness and evil intentions won't let you reason like a normal human being. You have being educated on numerous occasions about Obi's policies and their importance like the porverty mapping in Anambra north and why they need roads more than other parts, how no teacher wanna go up there because of lack of basic amenities but the truth is that you don't care about Omanbala. Providing infrastructures and social services are the most important aspect of development no matter how small. I rather have Omanbala with basic amenities evenly spread throughout the state than to have a beautiful Awka while the rest of Omanbala suffers. 3 Likes |

chinolization: Its not Atani, Atani is the capital of Ogbaru and very close after Odekpe and Ohita. its Ogwu Aniocha, they are in Ogbaru but they go their villa through Ihiala, they have boundaries with both Oguta Imo State and Ndoni Rivers State but a Bridge need to be constructed to access the divide. If they are traveling with vehicle they will move through Atani Rd but that will be very far though Obi worked the road but with Okada they can just drop at Ihiala and go to their house. They are surrounded by rivers, before the Ogwu Aniocha is Ogwu Ikpere the hometown of Chu Chu Onyema former HoR member, though the town is at war with the king but the situation is under control now. 1 Like |
