The latest episode of Game of Thrones, The Gift, saw the passing of Maester Aemon.
Aemon was a very rare thing in Westeros for a couple of reasons: 1) he did not want the Iron Throne, 2) he died of natural causes. He was also, as the show had revealed, a Targaryen. With his death, that leaves Daenerys as the sole remaining member of the former royal family left in the world.
At least it seems to, anyway. In the books, there is a character who claims to be a Targaryen, although it seems he won’t be making it to the screen, and is commonly thought to be a fraud (the believed-likely scenario is that he is a Blackfyre, a cadet house founded by the bastard son of Aegon IV).
Then there is the ever-popular theory R+L=J, which posits that Jon Snow is not actually Ned Stark’s bastard, and is indeed the child of Rhaegar Targaryen and Lyanna Stark.
Aside from Aemon’s death, The Gift also finally brought us to the meeting of Daenerys and Tyrion Lannister. It’s doubtless going to have huge implications for the series, but could there also be something more to it?
Like the Jon Snow theory, there is belief that Tyrion himself is a Targaryen, meaning meeting Daenerys in the latest episode would be something of a family reunion, even if neither of them really knew it.
There is supporting evidence from the books that lends itself to this theory, so here’s a look at what’s known and speculated about the true identity of everyone’s favourite dwarf.

So you sabi copy and paste. Clap for yourself. Next time at least credit the source when you're copying somebody else's post that isn't yours.

Just wondering what all those people who said they were through with the show after the Sansa incident in episode 5 are coping. Surely the buzz generated from episode 8 will force them to reconsider their decision. Lol. cheesy

No. Some can actually be through.

So let’s say in the final confrontation between White
Walkers
and humans, every able-bodied man is armed with
Valyrian
steel and obsidian-tipped daggers and arrows.
Do you think that evens the playing field when every
fallen human can then join the side of the army of
the undead? (Bran and his magical, tree-based
training may have something to do with
counteracting that.) As high as the odds against men
are
stacked here, we learned one final devastating thing
in this
episode. Those White Walkers seem to not only be
impervious
to fire, they actually put fire out with their icy
presence.
In the words of one Redditor, these guys are walking
freezers.
But, listen, if dragon steel (Valyrian steel) and dragon
glass
(obsidian) can penetrate these chilling monsters,
then dragon
fire should probably do the trick. It’s called “A Song of
Ice and
Fire” for a reason. Sam will figure it out eventually, I
have faith
in his book learning. So thank heaven we’ve finally got
Daenerys Targaryen a fantastic advisor in the shape
of Tyrion
Lannister. Now let’s just see if they can get those
pesky
dragons under control.

There wont be no final confrontation, bad vs evil battle. The story isn't like that.

The white walkers are not undead. They just look that way by our standards. They are intelligent beings that posses magical powers. Valyrian steel and dragon glass is their only known weakness.

Only fire can kill the wights, they are the ones that are undead. Even Jon's sword or dragon glass can't kill them.
do the dead become white walkers or wights?... i guess white walkers?...so where do wights come from?

No. He also decided to avoid the conventional good versus evil setting typical for the genre, where no one stands out as either a hero or a villain, as an example of what he wants to achieve with his books.

Epic episode i must say. For those saying that hooded guy was scary...i'm suprised ooo...He was just as scared as anyone on that boat. They even showed his face sef..

pics below: please forgive the picture quality grin grin

And some fans reckoned:

► the hooded guy is Benjen Stark, Jon's 'uncle' who was missing since s01. How they came to this conclusion, they didn't say.

► That both tyrion and jon are targs - I also read on here about tyrion being a targ citing amongst others the hair and eye color theory as reasons, but how about jon snow? He's got black hairs, dark eyes to contradict descending from the targ kinsfolk, so what then is his own targ related theory? Just being curious here.

And to those paranoiac about Olly, that's just what it is, paranoia. The lil boy is angry @jon's decision to bring the wildings close to the wall after watching them kill his family and also frightened having the wildings closeby knowing what they are fully capable of, what reason(s) does he then have to murder sam?

If he wanted murdering anyone, it would have been jon snow and it would have happened when he served him - the moment after he (jon) made the pronouncement of bringing in the wildings.

I don't think so.

Whoever started GOT, would want to see the end of it esp after ep8.

Just mere talks they all were.

Some were book readers, most actually. But not everyone becomes tempted easily, if they say they dont want to again after the controversial scene, they might not again, or it will take some time.

Given their place in the series, one can conclude that the good in GOT are the starks, night watchers and perhaps dany regardless she's on a mission.

The lannisters, tyrels, stannis, can all be seen as the baddies.

And a hero shall emerge and when that happens, it could only mean that the others lost.

Isn't all that still conventional?

Just being curious, so you're sure the author won't deviate from his book?

Pray tell.

My sentiments exactly. Though I do believe the show directors intended us to feel that way.

Kinda hard to agree.

I mean, if they've read the book, shouldn't it be more reason for them to know how the tv show goes and ends?

The urge to know how the tv series pans out should supercede and not the other way round.

If you had said instead that it would take some time for them to get back on to the tv show, now that I agree but never wanting to see how this ends esp after reading the book, I honestly don't think so

No, cuz the tv show has become a fanfiction, the many plotlines have been condensed way too much, the character developments, the actions of the characters aren't personality related anymore, its become agenda related. Some plots are inconsistent, aren't well thought about.

No, this series is about which consequences you are willing to take for the choices you make, but they just can't be viewed in the simplistic light of "good" and "bad." There's that shade of grey, and although some characters can be considered bad, others have been thought of in different view points, so you can't say the Starks, Dany are good guys just because they are, because then they wouldn't have to make these complex decisions which is a theme in the series. Same for what you call the bad guys, cuz regardless of what they do they still have something they do it for, and some might be understandable if not right. Then there's Ramsay or Joffrey, the li'tle sh*ts. And it isnt some hero comes to save the day crap.

With that said, its not that there aren't good people, but these people usually have a flaw or two, but that doenst make them any less good or bad, it makes them like realistic like we have in our world. Like there are are for those you considered evil.

More like they are angry with the author rather than enjoy the series for what it really is, a great movie or perhaps, they are angry at the fact that they can't predict the tv show as they wanted using the book, I think that's more like it.

Well, am enjoying the show and also enjoying reading all your book related theories, and then I also laugh at the theories that don't work out, lool

This isn't about comparing the two. But even without comparing the two, the show still has flaws. Yet some just overlook them.

cant even remember the so-called benjen stark sef.

about tyrion and jon being targs...remains to be seen

olly will come around. but the look on the face is like that of someone who wants to do something bad. Killing sam will be outrageous cos he wasn't the one who said he wanted to save the wildlings and when olly finally hears about the WW and wights, he will forget he had family sef.
