as good as it is, there are some foods you cant feed your dogs.

most people care less of what vitamins or resource they get from the foods they eat. as long as the tummy is full right?

just like feeding a little baby, you have to care about vitamins and minerals...cos the baby cant tell you when he/she is sick. same as dogs.

but ive seen some local dogs live fine and some 'other' dogs have big problems...so i guess beeing too careful is not too good.

in conclusion, a mix of both would work very fine...dry food and home foods. dont just leave your dog at one type of food. try varieties.

dont forget to notice the foods your dog dont like....some dogs throw up after taking yam, one of my dogs doesnt like pork...etc.

i feed my dogs dry food in the morning and homemade in the evenings the way it rushes the homefood made me wanted to stick to homemade food but why stick to one when you can have two coupled with the little work when feeding dry food both dogs are healthy(one rot and one ekuke)

One cannot completely do without feeding our dogs some of the food we eat.However,this should be done with caution and close monitoring.Mixing the food with fresh meat or finely prepared shawa fish will provide the required nutrients your dogs needs.
Below are samples of human food I give my dogs;

1.Indomie with fresh foetus/shawa/titus
2.Rice with fresh foetus/shawa/titus
3.Potato with fresh foetus/shawa/titus

The truth of the matter is that,feeding them dogs food alone is very very expensive and it does not even guarantee 100% of what they require.

Just be observant and switch feeds where necessary.

Feeding your dog what you eat seems more convenient and cheaper but it's NOT advisable you keep changing the food like you change yours. Experts will say maintain one type of food for the most part.
ONE THING YOU MUST HAVE AT THE BACK OF YOUR MIND IS THAT THEY REQUIRE MORE PROTEIN THAN YOU DO. So no matter the type of food your dog has become used to just maintain at least 30% protein(of diverse sources where possible) for a full grown adult dog and 40% for a puppy. Note that as it's not advisable to keep changing the food type, you may have to change protein sources by mixes.
You can obtain the right food supplement from the vets of which some dogs may have to take as much as 5tabs daily, deworm regularly and finally, greet you doggy for me.

. please how is homemade dog food like? i will like to know, maybe try it for my dog, coz i normaly give my dog dry food only.

i ve a new puppy. about 5wks now(not too sure) vet say for now i should feed her with golden morn and milk without sugar.....she eats it and i started giving her pap(akamu)with milk without sugar and oat with milk....

I feed my Samoyed rice and fresh fish which lasts for 3-4 days depending on the quantity I cook and she eats it very well, but sometimes I buy Jojo wet can food and mix with noodles or rice....
