All useless contracts awarded during Jonathan's administration should be cancelled.

No time!

Do you even know the meaning of contract or you just close your eyes and type whatever comes to you.

So this scams would have continued if GEJ had won. Thank God he lost!!! grin

According to the report the contract was cancelled because the German supplier failed to deliver, not because the ministry thought that the contract was a scam. You and the many commenters here should read properly before commenting.

And when does the country get the remaining 1.3 billion back since it was the contractor that failed to meet his obligations which necessitated the termination of the contract?
Are you so sure it is the contractor who failed? Because these guys are all criminals.

The Federal Ministry of Environment has terminated the controversial N9.2 billion clean cook stoves and wonder bags project, initiated by the former Goodluck Jonathan administration, for rural women under the national clean cooking scheme.

The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Mrs Fatima Mede, said the German contractor who was given three months to supply 750,000 units of the stove and 18,000 wonder bags under the project had failed on his part to deliver the items.

Mrs. Mede noted that five billion Naira had been released to the Ministry by the government out of which the contractor was paid N1.3 billion.

She urged Nigerians not to be apprehensive over the remaining N3.7 billion in the ministry’s coffers, which according to her remains untouched.

The Permanent Secretary noted that the stoves which were to be assembled locally were meant to provide jobs to Nigerians among other benefits.

According to the former administration, the programme was launched to engender clean cooking culture amongst rural women, in order to reduce and eliminate cooking with solid fossil which is considered detrimental to health.

The wonder bag and clean stoves was a great project hailed by many rational Nigerians. Do your research before forming an opinion. Nigeria is full of careless talkers and mischievous sarcastic minds. If contractual agreements were breached, contract should be revoked, that is fine. NOI recently revoked some GIS contracts and send them to the EFCC, its not unusual. This project is earmarked for 5years, it will not be stopped. Those wishing this project be stopped have no idea what they are talking about. If the Buhari administration stops it, it will be to their detriment. This is a noble idea.

So it was awarded to a German ? No Nigerian contractor can manufacture ordinary stoves ? Issorite!

You see, to give you a perfect response to your germane question. Hmm..hmmm (clears throat). Under our "Transformation" agenda {some of you label it deformation agenda}, stove making will be to small for us to produce here in Nigeria. If not for the unfortunate turn of event in March 28th, we would, by now, do the ground-breaking ceremony on how to mass-produce razor blades. You know the NACET type!

The plan all along had always been to embezzle that money. Sometimes I doubt Buhari is enough to save this country, the rot is too deep.
