A friend is seriously ill and his parents want to fly him to the uk for treatement. Although he has an active 2 year visa on his passport which won't expire until 2017. Someone advised them to get a health treatment visa. Is this really important?

2ndly. If its important to get this health visa, can it be ready before 11th?

Ralphlauren:

You are 100percent wrong.

The visa category you apply for determines where your application will be processed and NOT where you applied within lagos.

All settlement visas are handled at sheffield,UK- irrespective of whether you submit at Ikeja or Abuja.

Most dependent visas (depending on what Tier) are handled at Abuja (a small percentage is processed in lagos)- irrespective of whether you submit at Ikeja or Abuja

All visiting visas are processed and issued at lagos (including the 'almighty' 10yrs visiting visa)- irrespective of whether you submit at Ikeja or VI

Not entirely true.

Mine and my son's 5yr visiting visas were processed in Abuja even though i submitted in Ikeja. My wifey's 5yr visa was processed in Lagos and she submitted at Ikeja. My colleague's initial application (visiting) was processed in Sheffield which included a Skype interview; she submitted at VI. Her 2nd attempt was submitted at Ikeja and she got it. This time the notification email did not state Sheffield.

So only BHC knows what is processed where and for what reasons. We can only speculate.

Cheers

I'm no expert but I think you would need to get a Health Visa. A visiting visa does not allow you to receive medical treatment unless in emergencies.

As to the time it takes to process? That is beyond me.

Hope this helps.

There is nothing like health treatment visa, the 2years visa your friend has is more than enough for the treatment however, he needs to make an arrangement with a private hospital in the UK, pay the deposit and have the remaining money PLUS additional money for accommodation, feeding and transport. He needs to show that at the POE if asked.

The standard visa covers private medical treatment visitor visa

that sums it up then @ bolded.

better than people claiming all visas are processed at Abuja or all applications submitted at VI are sent to/processed at Sheffield.

i just reconfirmed with my relative. she submitted my application at the VI office - guess that explains (maybe) why her application was processed within 2days and she was informed by a direct email from BHC Lagos before the followup email from teleperformance.

Good day, this forum is really helpful. Please I will like information on how to apply for UK Visa for my husband, baby and I. Do we need to fill out a separate form for our baby. We are all applying together.
Secondly, will an inflow to my account in April be considered as lumpsum if I apply for the Visa in July?

The usual problem is that people make an on line hotel booking
but after a certain time if the booking is not paid then the hotel cancells it.
(They are getting unhappy with bookings not being completed.)
When visa office checks there is no booking so you get rejection.

Thanks ..picked up the 2 year visit visa today...thanks everyone on this forum ..u guys rock

@justwise, am planning to renew my passport next week. Was wondering if the visa on this passport will still be valid as I understand the passport will be cancelled upon issuing a new one.

You basically need to do a budget of your trip in £. For instance if you have 1M naira for the trip you need to break that money down into:

The cost of aeroplane ,trains etc
The cost of accommodation
The cost of living expenses.

That is actually a good thing, you will have the opportunity to clarify things if there is something missing in your application.

Their questions will central around the conference, your company and job, basically information you entered into the application form.

As long as you completed the form yourself you will be fine.

Without tax clearance certificate it's difficult to evaluate your business. The 3million could be your capital or net profit...so tax certificate helps clarify that.

You can't use your capital for leisure trip hence the need to have personal account and business account so that money for a trip like this comes from your personal account while your business acts as your tie to Nigeria
