SweetSoup:It will serve as a reference and also a precedent if Biafra secedes successfully from Nigeria, nothing is written on a stone. Even Vatican, an independent state is inside Italy. 2 Likes |

VintageCocktail:Honestly i have nothing against Biafra seceding from Nigeria and if it does happen, it will serve as a huge precedence for other region like you stated, i would also like to see a NigerDelta Republic. I am just looking at the political climate in Nigeria and how it might negatively impact on the economy of Biafra. If Biafra becomes a reality without states like rivers, akwa ibom and cross rivers who borders other country, it may be very difficult as the Nigerian govt could close all boarders (expecially the states mentioned) as it did during the civil war, which may affect the economy of Biafra. Just my opinion though 1 Like |

Dnarvaez:why do u think biafra will fail after a long time? If it fails then it won't b ur problem. I just don't understand why the yorubas keep attacking d igbos over this biafra issue. Igbos were deported from lagos, igbos r told everyday that lagos is not their home. Its obvious that u don't want the igbos in ur land but u have refused to support d igbos in their quest for biafra so that they can leave ur land for u. FYI, igbos have no problems with the yorubas(both tribes have lived in peace for decades). The problem the igbos have with nigeria is the hausa/fulani. We r just tired of being in d same country with them. No yoruba person has been able to tell me why we should remain in this country with the hausas. Hausas belong to niger and chad. |

Reading tru d posts it baffles me as to why yorubas keep bashing the igbos bcus of biafra. U don't want the igbos in ur region but whenevr the talk of biafra arises u come with 1000 and 1 excuse why biafra will fail. I just don't get it. I guess what they say is true, yorubas r born critics- they criticise everything, even their tribal marks filled faces. 2 Likes |

OoduaVanguard: Spot on. On one hand they claim to be marginalized, on another they claim to be the richest this and that. They talk as if people from other regions collect stipend from the government apart from the state monthly allocation, they will never blame there elders that do receive allocation just like other region but blame the Yorubas and Hausa for there misfortune. Never seen a tribe of cry babies and lil kids like this before... 2 Likes |

SweetSoup: You behave like a hole; you must be called an ass. People like you are the reasons Africa seems to dance backward. Certain groups of people are agitating for independence of their homeland or ethnic nationality and all you can offer is moronic idiocy. Who gives a rataxx about you skewed and silly objectivity? You can have your bloody Niger Delta or the so-called south-south but Republic of Igbo land is nonnegotiable. I hate it when dumbasses in Nigeria hid behind irrelevant nomenclatural objects such as south-south or Niger Delta and poke nose on serious political matter. If a jackass is ashamed of his or her ethnic nationality in Nigeria, I suggest such ignoramus remains quiet when issue partnering to ethnic nationality is an object of discussion. Why should certain cretins and street urchins in Nigeria always talk about war when issues for independence of ethnic nationalities are tabled? The great USSR disintegrated without a shot fired. I guess most Nigerians who are dead weights and lazy suckers tend to twist out of human form when there is a slight talk of disintegration of Nigeria. In fact, Nigeria is a practical joke 2 Likes |

Referenda have been used either as required by the national constitution, or requested by the executive, the legislative or groups of citizens, or by an international organization. They are called to advise or decide on pre-determined issues of major national importance. At the international level, an international organization such as the League of Nations or the United Nations may request or authorize a referendum in order to allow the population of a territory or country to decide whether to join another country, or become independent, or to approve a constitution.
