Lol Corruption is not an African phenomena.

Anyway the US still has the best military in the world.

The U.S has no moral justification to label anyone as corrupt.

With $700 billion a year, you better be better than the best.

NNS Aradu refit 2015 to be done in Nigeria

"He said the decision was borne out of the desire to equip the navy for local building of ships, just as he noted that the firm which will be domiciled at the Naval Dockyard, will take on the rehabilitation of Nigeria’s flagship, NNS ARADU, six strides boats, and build some interceptor boats, to ensure the emplacement of adequate security within the nation’s waters."

Soon, the deadly Otomat missile, Aspide BVR missile, and ASW torpedoes will be back ruling the sea of sub-saharan Africa

Short range otomats - never been test fired, past their use-by date
Obsolete SAM's - never been test fired, past their use-by date
Unknown torpedos - doubt that they even exist
Obsolete combat suite - pathetic capabilities
Obsolete sensors - ancient hardware
Crew with ZERO training and ZERO experience
A navy with no training in full spectrum maritime warfare.

Only a fool thinks a Valour frigate with very short range SAM with 8km ceiling, scrap yard repainted 1977 metal gun that reduced ship stealth, old year 1990s generation Exocets, radars, sensors, and equipment is something to boast about. The only new thing on a Valour frigate is the body/hull and the ship's name tongue tongue

Don't drag this forum back to old posts and comments.

NNS Aradu was re-fit in year 2001 with modern radars, sonar, sensors, all weapon systems cleaned out, guns fired, missile systems all in good order. The radar/sensor/sonar are all new and comparable to those on the Valour frigate has year 1999 weapons/equipment and a 1977 gun brought in from scrap yard and repainted.

That was posted here with sources last year, both harpoon databases and the Spanish website when you said it was a false claim and you edited Wikipedia that time on Roland missile shooting down bombs.

Show us proof that the Aradu missiles have expired and yet not removed to avoid hazard. Show us source of their expiry date. You private opinion is NOT a source.

All NNS Aradu weapons are superior to Valour frigate.

= 127mm gun has 15 km range, Valour gun is only 8 km

= Otomat MK 1 anti-ship does 2 missiles fired together and cooperate to increase range to 80 km, Otomat MK 2 range is 120 km, Valour Exocet is only 70 km

= Aspide BVR anti-aircraft missile is 75 km range, Valour is 12 km

= NNS Aradu torpedoes are Whitehead A244S torpedoes

No wonder fear and panic grips every South African when they hear of NNS Aradu refit and return to sea !

One Aradu will sink the entire South African navy in one day !

Nobody will waste time going back to repeat old posts and sources that have been proved here in 2014 . PROVED : http://archive.is/qUExe

Yes, because the weapons are too powerful for a frigate, they are destroyer level of weapons

It is also funny how the Famas F1 from France(South-Africa's master), which is the world's worst and un-reliable modern rifle cost €1500, while the AK-103 which is amongst the best and is the most reliable assault rifle cost $500 a unit.

The bad french rifle cost over 2 times more than the relible AK103.

High cost, doesn't equal quality

The Aradu is considered a Destroyer in Argentina. It is a well armed boat. This current refit should give Aradu around 25 years or more.

It is a very impressive ship.

why are you consistently s.tupid? I dont think you understand the meaning of force protection. In 2005 NNS ARADU was the only African vessel to hit UK for the travalgar festival. In 2013 NNS THUNDER was the only African vessel to go to Australia for another festival. What has south african navy ever achieved with her, where have they ever sailed to. You know nothing and you embarrass south africa.
