safarigirl: Nne.. its you who's trying to sound smart here missy. Who'd have a brand new sports utility vehicle then let it waste in the garage and decide instead to use a "trusty" old 504 for biz runs?! Asin who? U sure say that persin dey wise so? Which of the two will give you more value for your money; the new utility vehicle that's used for utility purposes or a 504 whose spare parts are hard to find nowadays not to talk of countless trips to the mechanic?! Biko.. so you're saying that you'd rather take a sola ameobi who's been with the super eagles for 3 years over maybe a Cristiano Ronaldo if you were to choose abi? Issorait. No wahala. LOL. |

we would be better off with success on the right flank and iheanacho as the targetman. then can they change position from time to time. And yahaya on the left flank. Manu is mostly concerned about poor defensive abilities of our ryt n left back. dats y he needs pple on the flanks who can equally put in defensively. And he probably wont get dat wit success, iheanacho and even simon. Take for example, our leftback, so easy to dribble. so he needs lot of covering for by the flank guy. The coach is more concerned abt is weakness than strength. |

kannymoore:doesn't matter how many times I try to explain, you apparently don't have the intellectual capacity to get my point. Or maybe your head is too far up your assss to bother to understand a point. Excuse my language If you can't understand that i'm not against using Success over Awoniyi, then you're not as smart as a lot of people here are making you think you are. Just stop putting down the other guys. Success and co are good, yes. Nobody is disputing that, but you will gain nothing from making it seem like Awoniyi and the others are trash. That was the bone of contention with your original post. That you made it seem like those guys are a waste of space. It's a bad thing to say or insinuate and it can be highly demoralizing if they see what you think of them. And being that you've probably never played in any competition of note, you're nobody to make such comments. Stop talking trash about those guys. And stop making them seem useless Cockiness does not look good on anyone. Have a nice day 1 Like |

kannymoore: I have read the back and forth on who to play between Awoniyi and Success in this Flying Eagles team with keen interest. First of all, let's all agree that whoever plays is the coach's prerogative as nobody wants to win more than the team's gaffer. That being said, I honestly believe folks should look at the overall picture before coming to conclusions! Isaac Success might be a better striker in individual goals return but Awoniyi is definitely better in the team goals return as at the moment. What do I mean? The number of assists and chances created when Awoniyi is upfront is phenomenal! He scored 3 goals at the AYC but also won 3 penalties! Apart from his assists, please guys, watch his off the ball runs; they are absolutely brilliant! His runs and hold up play creates chances for other team mates and also serves as an outlet for the Flying Eagles when under pressure. That so many folks do not notice this is actually baffling. You can be sure Isaac Success will score when he's played but with Awoniyi you can be sure the TEAM (anyone on the team) will score goals. So it boils down to which scenario the gaffer prefers. Your guess is as good as mine! 3 Likes |

Icon4s: I thought I explained the Nacho Brazil issue. Nacho never played as a creative midfielder for Man City. Immediately he arrived, the Coaching crew noticed he was a striker and not a midfielder. So playing against Brazil was unfamiliar to him. That does not mean his quality is not top notch. He was playing a new position for the first time in years. At City, he plays with pace. In the midfield, he has to hold to ball to create room for players. Note, the role Saviour played was as a left forward. He did not play as a creative midfielder. Sokari did. So do not make it look as if Sokari played the role Nacho played and did better. It is not true. Yahaya played that role in the match against Brazil. 1 Like |

safarigirl: My head is up my ass cos I said the truth shey? Thanks for the insult. Noted. No matter how much grammar you blow or what conjectures you make, just accept you were wrong on Awo being better than Success. End of story. But no.. you're never the one to ever admit or gracefully back down even when you know you erred on the side of judgement or are you? Aah well...Na your way sha. *shrugs* Birikiti: Brother... I guess a lot of people are carried away by success's goalscoring ability that they tend to overlook his assist ratio. I might be wrong but I sure do know that in his brief cameo @ the U17 world cup, success had a brace of assists off iheanacho's goals in the first game against mexico. I also know very well that Coach Garba putting Success on the flanks is also testament to his belief in Success's assist Ability. Heck, Wing-Forwards do not always score goals aplenty compared to the striker who plays @ the tip of the striking formation except in few instances like Neymar, C.ron, Sanchez and Messi. But all in all.. I gbadun your analysis sha.. the gaffer has the final say in the end. However... winning this tourney isn't my utmost priority..my fervent wish is that these crop of players become the mainstay of our national team ASAP...yeah..and add their coach too into the mix! Hopefully, we'll win the next two nations cups and get to the World cup Semis or even Finals sef! Sigh...approximately 12 hours to showtime! GODSPEED EVERYONE! |

kannymoore:Now, I'm going to need you to tell me where I ever said Awoniyi is better than Success. I did say Success was not better than Awoniyi, and conceited me will never withdraw that statement because, in your words "na my way" The only person I may have said was better than Success is Iheanacho, but Awoniyi? Nope, never said that. But you're permitted to gloat on a non-existent statement 1 Like |
