Why do you and others argue like this? This is not constructive. I have stood on the sidelines and not participated in this argument because it is devoid of logical conclusions.

The reason why Chelsea fans place emphasis on Hazard's dribbles and chances created is because we know that if he plays alongside Messi and Suarez, he will rack up more assists and goals. It is not even hard to make this conclusion.

Simple reasoning shows that in Suarez, Messi and Neymar, Barca have 3 players that can walk past many defenders with the ball. This gives the opposition more things to worry about and this naturally makes decisions for each one of them, very much easier.

At Chelsea, a Hazard-Costa-Willian forward line is very dissimilar to Barcelona's and very many levels lower in overall quality. This gives the opposition fewer things to worry about and their game plan is to mark out Hazard. And as seen in every game, Hazard is constantly marked by 3 players. Opposition players can afford to do that because we don't have a Messi and Suarez alongside him. If he did, opposition defensive game plan will be different and this naturally gives Hazard more space to operate. He will require less dribbles and be suddenly presented with a platform to be more productive.

In addition to this technical explanation, Hazard also has strict instructions from his boss to help out his full back for as many times as required. This Neymar doesn't have to do. (It will be interesting to compare km covered per game between Hazard and Neymar)

In spite of the challenges and huge difference in quality, Hazard still manages to win EPL player of the year. How hard is it to conclude that Hazard, with similar players in ability, can be more productive?

Anyone who argues contrary to this is on a different agenda.


I will never argue that Hazard at this moment is better than Neymar but those who think that Neymar is infinitely better than Hazard should go and lie down abeg.

Dude was a good 6, but I would never label him the 'best' at any point of his career.

Even at the 'peak' of his career around 2006-7, the incredible Schalk Burger(as my brother-in-law calls him lol)was undoubtably by far the superior flanker.

Yes, he was a beast in the maul. But Imo a 6 by definition is chosen for that very quality. But what's the point of winning a turnover, if your offloading skills can be suspect?

Did you ever see him carry? How many career tries did he have? Only thing you probably remember is his big hits...which were phenomenal though!

The man was a Kiwi for God's sake. Them lot live and breathe the sport. Every kid out there has the fundamentals mastered before they're 12, but I don't think I ever saw him do a single sidestep playing for AB.

Look at someone like Tom Croft(yes hyping a tigers player) or Coetzee for the springboks.

Hell, Look at Kaino playing that same position now for AB.

Mate i actually think He was the best for an incredibly short period of time though. His reign was not like that of burger or McCaw(no one will ever be that consistently great ever again)but still great all the same. I also remember watching him outplay Burger during the Tri nations a couple or so times so to say He was simply just a hitting machine is a bit unfair. Fair enough his offloading skills were not the best but i think it looks worse than it actually is because He was playing next to richie.

You were never going to see Collins do a sidestep dude was built like a brickhouse. His arms and upper body in general were massive. Even bigger than Lomu's for feck sake. I think his so called journey man exploits had more to do with his troubles off the pitch. Dude was as reckless off the pitch as He was on it. He was always one step away from doing jail time or doing something incredibly stupid. All in all a great and colourful player that would be missed.

I watched Conrad Smith(very underrated player btw) choking and fighting back tears during his interview. Must have hit him and Ma'a Nonu very hard. The trio were apparently very close. What a shame really

You can never right a player of his calibre off. Sooner rather than later he'll make you eat your words. The way he glides past players is such a joy to watch. He knows when to slow the pace of the game down and when to take it up a notch. Such a class act. I am yet to hear of a stage where Iniesta has failed to perform. Him,Xavi and Pirlo are my Holy trinity of midfielders(you can add Bastian to that list too)
