When Did Insulting The President Become A Crime On Nairaland? by nationwide1(m): 4:06am On Jun 08, 2015 |
Suddenly, I now read on Nairaland statements like : 1. Ban these people now. We cannot tolerate people insulting the office of the president - CramJones. 2. Why insulting the president? The Bible says we should pray for our leaders - mechanics. These are just a few of the lots. Surprisingly, these same people were the ones who rained unprintable derogatory names on the person of Goodluck Jonathan and I wonder why it's no longer a norm to insult the president. I don't subscribe to insulting the office of the president but it's hypocritical and barbaric to threaten people in any guise today because it is your party / brother that is the president. 21 Likes 1 Share |

This is democracy. APC has been in opposition for 16 good yrs, PDP is yet to clock 2weeks in the game and they have screamed out their heads. Why stress urselves too early in the journey. Its gonna be a long 4yrs for una and possibly 8. So put on ur seatbelts, grab a bottle of water and enjoy the bumby ride. Accept ur new status, minority! 10 Likes |

Buhari is an empty Agbada, that has pulled a fast one on Nigerians. He is the real deal: the baba one chance of our time. First he said he had only one million in his account and borrowed 27 million presidential nomination form funds from the bank, now we know his asset is worth over N900 million. If that is not one chance i dont know what is. And he is not even up to a week in office we have discovered 1 one chance played on Nigerians! how many will we discover when he spends a month in office? 22 Likes 2 Shares |

Buhari and the North will grant Boko Haram full paid amnesty Obama was the first to state that widespread poverty and ignorance as a direct result of systematic corruption was at the root of Boko Haram. The US ambassador to Nigeria stated in the past that Christians in Jos and Kaduna were the instigators of most attacks on them. Hillary Clinton as US secretary of state, refused to declare Boko Haram as a Foreign Terrorist Organization thereby denying Nigeria the much needed international support to tackle Boko Haram. But when the Chibok girls scam broke out, Hilary was one of the first international figures to take to her twitter account in support of the campaign. John Kerry will later take over from Hilary Clinton as US secretary of state from where he declared Boko Haram as a FTO. But Obama still refused to support Us claiming human rights violations committed by Nigerian forces. The likes of that puppet, Obasanjo then stated that Boko Haram had genuine grievances which then opened the flood gate to a renewed call for amnesty for Boko Haram by prominent northern figures. The likes of Justice Uwais, whose son has since joined ISIS had the audacity to suggest amnesty for Boko Haram. Shettima who is the chief security officer of Borno state which happens to be the state at the epicentre of Boko Haram and who has mysteriously never come under attack by the group is now demanding 13% derivation in order to rebuild the ravaged north east. Amnesty International has already started painting Boko Haram as the victim ignoring all their past and continuous lunacy by concentrating on Nigeria's military forces and tactics in combating Boko Haram. Amnesty international forgot that we are at war with madmen and in war itself there isn't any pleasant way to kill the enemy. The dullard of Daura and current occupier of assh0le rock, Buhari prior to him being sworn in as President was one of the first and lone voices calling for a similar amnesty package for Boko Haram like that granted the Niger Delta militants. All that remains now is for us to watch and see the likes of Falana, Soyinka, Oby, civil rights groups, emirs, Obas in the south, paid student rallies from southwest university join the call to grant Boko Haram amnesty. And you wonder why we remain backward. 6 Likes 1 Share |

shugacaneman: You yoruba fool. Well what I know is that Buhari will trigger another civil war in this country very soon when he declares amnesty fir Boko Haram. We know you ingrate in the Southwest are on support of an end to the 13% derivation just like the north and will urge Buhari to go on full scale war in the ND once ND militias pick up arms. If you Yoruba slaves want Buhari as your new grand Khadir with his wife Aisha as your Queen then no problem but for you to suggest we dorbaale to Buhari like you slaves where you ridiculed the office of the presidency because you felt Goodluck as an Ijaw man does not deserve your respect but only your insults then get ready for your imminent slavery in Arewastan. Nigerians are not fools; they have eyes and ears, and they can differentiate one person or government from the other.. Nigerians were witnesses to the 16 years of PDP and the more 5 years of GEJ in particular.. They have given Buhari/APC the opportunity to lead the country for next 4 years and they will compare and contrast between the two and come out with their verdicts in due time. For now if some disgruntled elements think insulting Buhari is the only thing that can help their miserable lives out of the pains of defeat then they should continue but sincerely doubt if that will change anything. 1 Like |
