yeah, rehashing & recycling an overused angle truly makes the jokes stale.

different strokes for different folks anyway. If I was to script a battle verse, I would make 70% of it ridiculing bars & jokes, while the remaining 30% would comprise of grown men shyte and a jot of horror-core material.
it's copacetic that way to me cos I believe jokes entertains and stimulates the audience more.


I know we've transited from the era of 8 mile type of battle format , but using that movie as a yardstick, you can see that [fresh/qualitative] jokes prevail over bars in rap battles in most cases ✘

Against danny myers, his showtime knocked daylyte to the floor. Rickross couldn't take the heat, he was grimacing and rolling his head as verb went in with it. the technicalness of the jokes depends on the input and the amount of work the rapper is ready to put into creating them.

carving out jokes doesn't mean multi-syllabic rhymes, puns, similes etcetera won't be utilized.
and jokes hit harder if well executed. It's not what you say but how you say it anyway .
