Please any constitutional lawyer in the house? Please come in a clarify.

Is 2/3 of the member needed before a quorum can be form or not?

To my understanding 2/3 of the total member is not needed before a quorum can be form.

To pass an act or bill into law, a quorum must be form and it required 2/3 of that forum or clear cut majority before bill can be pass.

So the question is was a quorum formed? Which i think is yes ( am subject to correction )

Today is the inauguration of the 8th assembly, and the venue is the national assembly complex, not ICC. The 57 lawmakers only did the needful.


The meeting at ICC is APC affair, while the inauguration is a national affair. You don't expect the former to take precedence over the latter ...

Why had buhari wanted to hold a meeting with the senators knowing today was the day they were to be sworn in. I think buhari just deceived the APC senators. Even lai mohamed had said buhari is not the leader of APC. Only john oyegun can call for a meeting of such and I doubt it would be legal given the timing. The fulanis are already proving smarter than the so called progressives. Time would tell.

Nobody should blame anyone here. Lawan shot himself. Don't they know that postponement of the inauguration can cause constitutional crisis?

The thing is with or without all apc sanators the opposition party can go ahead with the inauguration and nothing will happen because with the number a quorum will be form. The judiciary know this and that's why they go ahead and do the swearing in.

Apc should have settled their matta before today
