There is palpable tension at the national assembly complex as report reaching us has it that APC Senators, led by Ahmed Lawan and George Akume, backed by the security agencies, are reported to be marching to the National Assembly to elect their own Senator President.

Senator Bukola Saraki had earlier been elected and inaugurated as the Senate President by PDP Senator and few APC’s

Saraki, Ekweremadu Emerge Senate President, Deputy Senate President….How Ex-Kwara Gov Defeated APC Leaders To Emerge

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has adopted Senator Bukola Saraki for the position of Senate President. In the same vein, the PDP has adopted Hon. Yakubu Dogara for the position of the Speaker of the House of Representatives. The party therefore urges its senators and members-elect in the National Assembly to act accordingly,” the PDP statement read.

In a bid to counter the move, the APC early this morning invited all APC senators-elect and members-elect for a meeting with the president who has just arrived from his successful trip to Germany where he attended the G7 meeting.

The APC statement issued by 6.24 a.m. on Tuesday and signed by its National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed says “The President and Commander-in-chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Muhammadu Buhari will address all Senators and House of Representatives elect of the All Progressives Congress at 9 am this morning Tuesday the 9th of June at the International Conference Centre Abuja. All concerned must endeavour to attend this meeting.”

To beat the trick by the party leadership however, the Saraki supporters along with all PDP senators went into the Senate chamber for their inauguration, having formed a quorum of simple majority. Saraki and Ekweremadu were subsequently elected and sworn in by the Clerk of the national assembly.

As long as I am concerned, the first election met all legal requirements. Unfortunately, APC knows that President Buhari will never move against Saraki but will rather find ways to work with him as he had earlier vowed not to interfere with proceedings. Thats why they prolly want to conduct a fresh 'illegal' election.

Impeach Saraki and Ike, elect Lawan and Akume legally. And the Presidency in an attempt to restore order to the NASS, should order the armed forces to take over the NASS while Lawan and Akume legally remains as the senate and deputy senate president.

Apc are not handling this maturely. So pathetic.

What Saraki did is MORALLY wrong but LEGALLY right. And APC's move at this point "IF" true, is totally unnecessary. They should accept the emergence of Saraki as the senate President while looking for other ways/opportunity to have their revenge. And my advise to PMB, though he has been grossly disrespected by Saraki, he should not get involve now. He should work with Saraki while seeking for more "coded" ways to punish him for disrespect cos If anything goes wrong if any commotion starts, he(BUHARI) wil take sole responsibility as the president and Leader of Nigeria NOT APC. Saraki is 'godfather' in his own right. Just as Tinubu calls the shot in Lagos, Saraki rules in Kwara.
In fact the House of Saraki, has been ruling Kwara even before Tinubu thought of leaving the drug trade and venturing into Naija politics.

Nobody can determine with certainty the outcome of this wahala. But if it's true that Saraki snubbed APC, the President, the VP, Tinubu, then he'll be in for some rough rides. He cannot be trusted by these people again.

He did not ask for their Trust. He is only pursuing his OWN POLITICAL INTEREST. And the last time I checked, Politics is all about INTEREST. No permanent friend or foe.
