Chiichii2010: I forgot to add this....if there is no sign that they are together....engagement ring, pictures of the engagement, pictures of them together months before the visa applications or proof that they live together....getting a visa will not be easy. |

Please what's the proper way to address a letter of invitation which a family member is to submit for visitor visa (general). The writer of this letter is on tier4 visa, wondering if "to whom it may concern" is appropriate or "Visa office, British Embassy..." is the right address. Thanks. |

Hi Alll please I have an issue I need help on. I filled in my application and submitted already. The place that asked have u traveled to any other country before I clicked on NO. In error. Please can I write a letter explaining that I made a mistake and write the places I have been to in the attached letter? My submission date is on the 16th. Or is there any other way of correcting the mistake as my training starts on the 29th of this month. I cannot afford any further delay thank you house |

justwise: @ Justwise thanks for your response. My friend will be accommodating me during the duration of my stay and it was stated in his letter, hence there was no cost of accommodation. Kindly advise, thank you. |

rhoso: What I meant before was did you add that part in your first application? Or is this new development? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by rhoso: 12:29pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
justwise: I was added in my first application, they confirmed in the refusal letter that they are satisfied that he will be able to accommodate me |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Veeme: 1:02pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
Hi guys, please help.... My partner in desperation to get UK visa to come and see me went to get some advice and stupidly was advised to say that he was married in Nigeria and that he had a child. The guy advising him said this was the only way to get a visa as proof of his return to Nigeria. I am so angry with him as visa was refused anyway and now what to do? We want to get married, probably in Nigeria and then reapply for a spouse visa. I told him he has to tell the truth that he was not married but he is terrified that if he admits he lied, that they will ban him for 10yrs. An immigration lawyer is advising him to continue with the lie and get a 'divorce' certificate. I don't like the idea of this and think he should just come clean. If we get married, will this lie stop him from coming the the UK? Thank you |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 1:21pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
Veeme: Obviously the lies wouldn't help the situation but getting married is the right thing to do. Listen to the immigration lawyer at your own peril. Yes you are right he needs to come out clean and stop the chain of lies. 2 Likes |

rhoso: If there is not significant change from the last time you applied getting a visa will be a tough one. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by rhoso: 1:43pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
justwise: @Justwise Thank you. That is why I have presented the case here and need an advice, I am not hell-bent on going there for my vacation but if I stand a chance to be issued then I will want to know. The fact that my account balance is now 1.1m from 910k + my cost available for the trip is now 1,100GBP instead of 1,800GBP i put before, is that not enough significant change? I just need your take and advise if to go on or drop it, and if to go on what can I do to increase my chances of being granted the visa. Thank you. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Nobody: 1:49pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
He should stick to the truth and explain that he got wrong advice. Lying about a divorce then producing take certificate then a 'fake' child since that was part of the lie. He would then say he's married to you and prove your relationship which would have been ongoing whilst he was supposedly married. Its a slippery slope. Too many lies to cover up. Sounds like he was desperate to get of Nigeria not to see you. What was the rush you could have visited him and spousal visa be done. They know he lied and he may already have the ban. When you guys get married officially then he can address the lie in the spousal application. 1 Like |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by Veeme: 2:59pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
salsera: Thank you Salsera for your response. We have been together for almost 3yrs and meet up in India so I think he is actually interested in me. We could have lived in Nigeria but I don't want to. I want to be close to my family and to work in UK. I did visit him in Nigeria and had an accident where a drunk driver ploughed into the restaurant where we were sat and smashed my head open! We applied for UK general visa as I wanted him to visit me and meet my family before we got married but it seems now that marriage is the only way he can come here. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by rhoso: 3:04pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
justwise: @ Justwise This is what I stated in the form when I applied - What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? 1300 The total amount of money you have for this trip? 1800 GBP The cost of the aeroplane, boat or train tickets 750GBP I probably did not understand what they meant by all these, kindly advise Thank you. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by molly14: 3:10pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
Good day justwise, please will a deposite of 900k in my account in April be considered as Lumpsum if I apply for Visa in July? Because I'm really not clear on this issue. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 3:48pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
rhoso: I understand where you are coming from, the only major expenditure here is the £750 flight money. Its 50/50 situation, you can reapply and explain that your friend will be accommodating you and that the trip will only cost you the £750 for the ticket. Your friend has to include the same statement in his letter and attach data page of his passport and proof of accommodation..e.g tenancy agreement or mortgage paper. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 3:49pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
molly14: That will look suspicious without any explanation and source of that money. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by rhoso: 3:57pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
justwise: @Justwise..Thank you for your advise. I will however need further clarification on these quesions - What is the cost to you personally of your trip in GBP(£)? - (Does this include the cost of my flight and any other money i intend to spend or just spending money? The total amount of money you have for this trip? - I do not understand. Sorry for bothering you, I just need to understand this cos this is what cost me the first application. Thank you once again. |

justwise: Thank u so much. One more thing, please my sister is inviting me and she can't seems to find her tenancy agreement but she said her utility bill will serve the same purpose. She also said they should have it on record becos she has invited my mum last year. Please is it wise to go ahead and use d utility bill witout d tenancy agreement? |

rhoso: Sorry for bothering you, I just need to understand this cos this is what cost me the first application. Thank you once again. Cost to you is the TOTAL that you expect to spend, travel, accomodation & food and spending money (everything) Money for the trip is How much money you habe avaliable for the trip (usually how much you have in the bank and what are your earnings) |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 7:06pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
rhoso: 1. Yes it means every penny you tend to spend on the trip. 2. The total amount of money you have for this trip? Total amount you have for the trip could be £2000 but the trip will cost you £1000. This is why it's important for you to do a mini budget of the trip carefully outlining how you tend to spend the money available. Remember not to over budget or spend more than 2 months of you monthly income especially if you are on average salary. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 7:10pm On Jun 09, 2015 |
molly14: She can add her utility bills and explain the issue of tenancy agreement in the letter. You also need to have a strong tie to Nigeria, your sister's documents alone will not be enough you need to prove that you be returning to Nigeria if given a visa |
