macof: I think it'd be more shameful for him if he dies on the "throne". Why can't he just groom someone to replace him? Is he that paranoid of life after office? |

macof:I agree, Mugabe is a Legend that we might not see in this part of the world for a long time (so was Gaddafi), so many people are brainwashed by western media it's pathetic, they see the west as Noble, honest saviours who always tell the truth about everything, it's sickening. The west are the biggest hypocrites you will ever come across, when President Uhuru Kenyatta was elected they said that they would end all relations with Kenya, but when he was cleared by the ICC, they all came knocking, apologizing and renewing relations for investment. They also said that they won't help Nigeria fight Boko Haram because of its human rights record, look at what they are doing in the middle east. The East is a better partner, they don't involve themselves with african politics which is a good thing. 1 Like |

Zimbabwe is a shining example of a strong African leader. The British sabotaged the Zimbabwean economy because they set the prices for the goods coming out if Africa...Africans must look at things in historical context and remember how the blacks had to fight the drive the whites out of Zimbabwe. All the food in Zimbabwe was being exported to Europe to feed the hungry droves their.Black should remember how the Germans exterminated the blacks of Namibia...now only 1.5 million Namibians are alive...when the whites came it was 25 million..... |

Re: Zimbabweans Thank Nigerians And Sahara Reporters For Thrashing President Mugabe by Nobody: 11:02am On Jun 10, 2015 |
TonySpike:I am not an expert on Zimbabwe but I hear lots of conspiracies. First of all it's not that easy for Mugabe to come out of power. I hear that the military want him to stay put, they don't trust anyone else to keep it together like he has. Mugabe did one thing no one else in Africa can afford to, he destroyed western influence at the expense of the economy, Mugabe was a very smart guy back then and maybe he thought that he could count on South Africa and maybe other countries would follow his example thereby establishing a self-reliant continent that maybe relied on itself and on the east. The IMF place Zimbabwe's unemployment rate to be 90%, I mean how the fvck is that possible, we all know it's not, how that country is still surviving, I don't know because it should be the poorest in Africa and yet it isn't. That is the western global PR machine at work, it works to discourage Zimbabweans to be so hopeless as to cross the border into South Africa. That is why we need people like him in this digital generation, people who are comfortable finding solutions for african problems by not relying on the west. People who are so proud of being african that they are willing to suffer at the hands of the west in order to propagate their ideology. It is very sad that we don't have people like that especially the young who only dream of becoming rich. 1 Like |

Some countries have chronic corruption they better care more about, other countries like Zimbabwe have a strong leadership that protects the people from being at the mercy of demagogic folks. These so -called democracy advocates in fact do believe in what comes from their own mouths. Worse they hidden agenda is nothing but legalize vice ( moral depravity ) . Let's keep in mind opponents are not always right. For instance we are now seeing what those opposed to Gaddafi or Saddam Hussein brought to Libya or Iraq. |

pkjag: So, President Mugabe is the smartest Zimbabwean alive? He is the only "god" capable of ruling that country? Isn't it ironic that the US dollars, the currency of one of his Western enemies is the national currency of Zimbabwe. See, Robert has no reason to make himself a life President. If he loves his country so much, he should have appointed someone younger by now and he can operate in the shadow. It is crappy to praise an obsessive man like Mugabe who wants to remain in power forever!! |
Re: Zimbabweans Thank Nigerians And Sahara Reporters For Thrashing President Mugabe by Nobody: 2:49pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
TonySpike:Misquoting me with words like the smartest Zimbabwean and the only god clearly betrays your emotional influence in this discussion, you hate the man fine, at least try to study him from the perspective of the colonial period. Let's be subjective here, he isn't perfect and his ideas might be too ancient but at least he tried his best, look at Lee Kwan Yew, the man was a dictator but his people worshipped him like a God for what he did to Singapore, same with Hugo Chavez, he went hard against the west and lost, but his people loved him. The difference is that africans can't see it, and because the whites stamped their influence here in comparison to Asia and South America, we are practically paralyzed without them, that's why Zimbabwe is broken, what if the economy hadn't slumped would they have different opinions about the man. Each of these men tried to do what they thought best for their countries though some didn't succeed, but in the eyes of outsiders they are viewed as devils and dictators. He grew up in Rhodesia under a barbaric white man who was probably worse than King Leopold, saw what they did to his country and land, studied hard and sought to evict these people. He had the right intentions for his country, how he did it is up for debate, why he did so and the consequences isn't. Out of South Africa, Zimbabwe had more white people than any other country in Africa and since he could do something about it, he did. Why he is still in power i don't know and i can't discuss it, I agree he should have given up power to a younger like-minded leader, maybe he's been grooming one, but his achievements far outweigh his shortcomings, you probably can't see this now, but Zimbabwe is one less african country that bends to western influence, that to me is an achievement. 1 Like 1 Share |

pkjag: this why the number of unemployment is put at round 90% http://www.herald.co.zw/harare-and-its-vendors-what-is-a-city-but-people/ very few people are employed 75-80% are self employed http://www.herald.co.zw/its-vendor-vs-vendor-in-harare/ thats what the city of harare now looks like and people try to survive by selling things some factories cant even operate because of daily cuts of electricity and its even worse on the second city bulawayo as half of the factories have closed http://www.herald.co.zw/youths-urged-to-revive-bulawayo-industry/ http://www.chronicle.co.zw/accommodate-smes-in-closed-factories-minister/ mind you these link are from the zanu pf controlled newspaper the herald

ZIMDRILL:Same with Kenya, they put unemployment at 43%, that's just grossly inaccurate, the country cannot survive like that, we need to redefine unemployment, if those people who are self-employed still pay tax then they should add to the list of employed people. We also have hawkers everywhere in Kenya and Nairobi especially around bus stations, but they're not allowed in the CBD. |

pkjag: i think its the right figure for zimbabwe why i saw so the government now is desperate for money they have gone to the extend of putting toll road booth allover the country as away to get revenue, the government is broke and is finding ways to milk the already poor people, imagine you got a commercial vehicle and its route it passes 3 toll gate booth and you have to pay each time you pass money is there in vendors/aka informal sector but no taxes being paid hence the government is getting little from the few running companies just imagine foreign tourists are a levy, making zimbabwe an expensive place to visit http://www.chronicle.co.zw/tourism-levy-earns-zim-16m-in-4-months/ they say the levy is to revive the industry but the truth is that the government is broke and finding way to cover shotfall from closed industries http://nehandaradio.com/2015/01/29/zimbabwe-govt-imposes-tourism-tax/ http://www.dailynews.co.zw/articles/2014/08/21/zta-owed-over-300k-in-levies |

ZIMDRILL:Tell me, how does the dollar system work, say how much does a loaf of bread cost in US dollars? And don't the migrants in SA send anything? |
Re: Zimbabweans Thank Nigerians And Sahara Reporters For Thrashing President Mugabe by TonySpike: 4:05pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
pkjag: I read everything you've posted and I must say that irrespective of our differences, we have a common ground in that the Man, Mugabe, should have left power long ago. My position remains that long-term leadership in Africa must be discouraged, be it in Uganda, Cameroun and Zimbabwe. There is no sense in operating a stagnant government. Can you see from your comments that you seem to admit that Mugabe's efforts are no longer yielding fruits. His golden period of achievements have now been replaced with seasons of doom. |
Re: Zimbabweans Thank Nigerians And Sahara Reporters For Thrashing President Mugabe by Nobody: 4:16pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
TonySpike:I never said otherwise, what I don't like is people hating, belittling and reducing him to a mere dictator despite his many achievements that have been frustrated by people who clearly can't understand or work with him. |
Re: Zimbabweans Thank Nigerians And Sahara Reporters For Thrashing President Mugabe by ZIMDRILL(m): 5:09pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
pkjag: the money in circulation is the US dollar and the SA if you pay in Rands the amount has to be equal to the US$ exchange rate a loaf of bread cost $0.50 or less but they used to an offer $1 for 2 loaf since there are have US coins to give as change yes those in SA send money home but remember the money is the informal sector |
