So somehow, we schemed back into the leadership of the 8th assembly, with the election of Ikeoha this morning, as the Deputy Senate President.

What do you guys think?

Ikeoha is one senator who has been outstanding in the attraction of democracy dividends to his whole district. I beg him to pass a road from Nenwe through Nomeh Unateze to Oduma Achara. Nomeh is not in his senatorial district but we have been so much abandoned by everyone. Our own senator is so so insensitive. Gil Nnaji is a minus one to Enugu politics.

You have to start somewhere....Look at Anambra for example investing big in agriculture which will trigger economic boom and along the line they might decide to divert their economy to something else. Stop making silly excuses why Chime neglected agriculture. ENUGU state has no other means to grow their economy other than through agriculture.

Beautiful state is all you and your folks dream of but you don't wanna hatch the idea of how such will come by.

Chime invested in agriculture more than Obi, at least there are pics to back it up.

For where?
Enugu has never given political advantage to agriculture and the time is now.

Remember chime never wanted to give him the PDP ticket which he finally got defeating the influential ifeoma nwobodo. The masses may not love him but the stakeholders from the zone are playing to his tune. After all which politician did not rig? Chimaroke?

It was the power move that twisted PDP out of Chime hand that helped Nnaji. He was on the way out only for Ekweremmadu to hijack the primaries and then kick Ifeoma Nwobodo into the gutters. Gil Nnaji bu iti mpataka that does not know his left from his right.

You are very correct, if not the political dexterity of Ekweremadu, Gil would have being nowhere near the hallow chamber, Ekweremadu even frustrated Chime and Ugwuanyi until they negotiated

If the current govt can invest more in agriculture, which i believe they will do, then the prosperity of Enugu will be assured inspite of the dwindling oil price.

Who knows about the rice mill Mr Charles Ugwu is setting up in Nsukka axises?

Lol...Another dumb comment; How does going to the farm translate to investing more in Agriculture than another person?? Secondly, you said you "never seen Obi visiting farms" which doesn't mean that it didn't happen. I have engaged your your people here on the importance of investing in agriculture and none of them can come up with a legitimate arguement why Chime has abandoned the sector. All they do is give excuses and tell us ENUGU state capital is beautiful.

At Unenmadu, if you care I can relate the wonders Obi did in agriculral reform in Anambra; Remember he built most of the roads that goes into the many farming communities in all Anambra farming communities. I don't wanna delay ENUGU people thread but don't ever compare Chime and Obi. They are world apart!!!

I thought there's a tacit agreement to stop comparing Igbo states, which always ends in infighting. I can already see where this present argument is headed.

Enugu State is not called “The Coal City State” for nothing; it was a rich coal mining town in 1912, and coals from its coal fields were exported via Port Harcourt to foreign countries. Coal was discovered in the Southeast Nigerian state in 1909 by a team of British geologists who facilitated the construction of a railroad linking Enugu to Port Harcourt.

Located in the southeast geopolitical zone of Nigeria, Enugu State was created on August 27, 1991; and the name Enu-gu means “top of the hill”. Major towns and cities in the state include Nsukka, Oji River, Awgu, Nkanu, Ezza, Ogbodu Aba, Lejja, Amaokwe, Umana, Achi, Opi, lnyi, Ngwo, Nenwe, and Oduma etc.

There are some must-see tourists sites when you visit Enugu, the Coal City State, below are some of them:

Ngwo Cave and Waterfall

The Ngwo Cave and Waterfall are located at the Ngwo Pine Forest where a heavy waterfall descends from overhead limestone rocks. The waterfall forms a shallow pool at the cave floor before flowing out as a stream into the wild. Apart from the waterfall, there are several caves that are tucked away into the rock, and you can access some of them by climbing while some are easily within reach.

Ani Ozalla Lake and Shrine

There is the Ani Ozalla Lake and the Ani Ozalla Shrine, both located close to Ozalla in Nkanu West LGA. The Ani Ozalla Lake is a natural body of water with numerous number of crocodiles which are regarded as sacred – incarnations of the river goddess who at the promptings of the chief priest come to accept offerings from supplicants.

Ugwueme-Udi Hills

The Ugwueme and Udi Hills are very suitable for mountaineering activities and other landscaping purposes. They are situated hundreds of meters above sea level, and underneath these hills are the coal mines where coal mining took place for exporting several years ago. There are also several tunnels that you can climb into to have a feel of what natural coal mining is all about.

Of course they are world apart, because the best credit I can give Obi is on stabilising Anambra state politics, and not allowing it slip into the hands of Business Moguls with zero knowledge of leadership as a Governor. Handing over to Obiano attest to this fact, Obiano is doing far better than Obi even in his few days as Governor. He is targeting factors that will drive investment to Anambra, check how he's changing security situation of Anambra.

Obi would have gained more for Anambra if GEJ had won, but now everyone has to sit up, opposition isn't a baby task, I have a strong feeling that Obiano will fair well in opposition but I have some concerns about Ifeanyi, I think he will follow Chime's path of depending on gains of his personal and team's effort rather than what he can gain from Federal government.

In this era, government hardly engage in business, they rather provide enabling environment and allow private sector take over. That's why according to you Obi built most roads leading to farming communities not that he built farms. If you tell me Chime did poorly in Education I did agree, but not Agriculture, because he attracted companies that built farms while he built roads to those farms and also farming communities in Enugu. As we speak, a storage facility is under construction in Enugu, handled by federal Government.

When we talk about this agriculture thing you should also think like you're the one on Governor's seat, we should consider the Market for the farm produce. To invest heavily in Agriculture you also need to expand the market which Chime tried to do that by exporting. Our local market is saturated by Produce from North and foreign importation. A friend of mine goes to Benue to buy Garri in trucks and sell in Aba. We, easterners, lost touch of Agriculture at some point, but North maintained it and they have the market and they also enjoy heavy support from Federal Government. Enugu state doesn't have the power to block Business men and women who travel to North to bring these produce to south, neither does it have power to stop foreign importation. There was a time Chime cried out concerning plots to frustrate his effort to export produce, we would have fared better as a separate country, if the Terminal was ready I am sure his efforts would have made more returns.

I know you're not in the country and you read mostly what you get on Web, we on ground know better. That Chime wasn't a media person doesn't mean we lost track of his administration. We are not concerned only about beauty of Enugu, We know What Chime got right, we know where he was moderate, we know where he got it badly. We also know the good efforts of Chime in Agricultural sector, that cannot be said about Obi. Give credits to Obi in other sectors but not Agriculture.

Silicon Hill

No, this Silicon Hill is not situated in the Silicon Valley of California, it is in Enugu State; and fine enough, it is close to the Nkalagu campus of the Enugu State University of Science and Technology (ESUT). This hill has a large deposit of the mineral “silicon,” and it is over 300 meters above sea level. You just cannot resist the breathtaking views of the hills, valleys, and plains as they present an awe-inspiring blend.

Did you know Silicon Hill is Enugu's Wadi Chappal, at 300 metres above sea level.
