Dear all, will be goin 4 a conference in canada for which all expenses except visa application fee will be paid by the organizing body. Now trying to apply for visa, proof of financial resource of supporter and proof of means of financial support was asked for. My question nw is, will proof of financial resource of supporter cover for the two requests? If not, how do i go about the proof of means of financial support? will a statement of account from a Nigerian bank do? Since it is a week program, what is the minimum amount i will need 2 have in my bank account? Tnx |

guyman2: Your net salary is good, you don't need to have relative or friend to be able to get a tourist visa you can book hotel accommodation. You need to submit 6months bank statement(salary account), your current account and your payslip. Your marriage certificate, family pictures, proof of accommodation, if you have properties you can include their papers, same case with car if you have any. You also need to state places you tend to visit while in Canada. 2 Likes |

guyman2: Why would you hand over all your personal details to a complete stranger just to complete a form for you? Anything is criminally possible. Completing visa application form will take you less than an hour, a lot of info online if you got stuck anywhere. 1 Like |

johndarey: If the organisation is paying for everything apart from the visa application then your parent can take care of that. Are you invited with somebody else or just you? Any bank statement you will be presenting has to be in your name or your parents. The only problem here is that you are not working and not a student. |

Please I just want to confirm if it's true that canada does not necessarily give 6 months visa to first timer again but a multiple visa depending on the validity of your passport. For instance if you have 3 years remaining for ur passport to expire you will be given 3 years visa that will exit the same day your passport expire though I read this online but would like to confirm if it's applicable to Nigerians also or is it Indians Mexico etc that can benefit from this |

post=35670116: I don't think there's anything vfs can do abt it. Deres a link Ademola sent a mail to confirm his own processing. It's on dis same page. Just send CIC a mail. Hopefully you might get a response. |

@ bimbo,i called vfs today and they request for my tracking number, and few mins later she confirmed that it's still in processing at the canada visa office in lagos. I spoke with an immigration Lawyer today,he confirmed the period used for processing a visitor visa is longer and nothing less than 54days because they now issue visa according to your passport Validity and mostly a multiple entry. Let's keep the Prayer and Fasting rolling, our patience would not be in Vain,we would all give testimonies by God grace. 2 Likes |
