Its really not about Saraki but the other APC senators in Saraki's camp from the look of thing Saraki has Absolute majority in the senate all thoes that appeared yesterday for the election of both the SP and DSP are all in the same camp. The so called APC loyalist in the senate are just about 33 which can not even form a quorum. My advise is for APC to manage this internally expelling Saraki will just compound the woes of APC.

in a way, i blame EFCC for this. if they had dealt with all the allegations of corruption hanging over him - societe generale bank, one suspicious farming project in Kwara state where he imported Danish cows, equally suspicious football academy where he employed clements westerhof and many other allegations of corruption - he wont have the audacity to vie for the position as senate president.

It is only a matter of time before all the PDP faithfuls come home and the artificial APC left to disintegrate into its constituents forms.
The SE/SS would then become the real bastions of power.

2. Saraki can't leave APC- a new supreme Court judgment just stripped a member of the house who left his party so don't hope to see that many defections again.

PDP made him a governor twice and he dumped them.
The senatorial seat he won under the APC is nothing compared to the governorship.
And yes he will still retain his seat as senate leader even when expelled.

I.m sure those that gleefully approved of the heist at the Senate yesterday are well aware of how unproductive the Senate may turn out should this type of walk-out continue. And for the group that think yesterday's events was a victory for Nigerians, just wait for the time when it would be difficult to form a quorum to hold parliamentary sessions; get a quorum to pass resolutions or assent to bills and such a time when the legislature would have to go on forced and extended recess because principal officers would be fighting to keep their positions while core legislative and oversight functions grind to a halt! Victory for Nigerians indeed!

Saraki must be expelled for the APC leadership to show they are serious. Otherwise they lose the respect and followership of others. Others will feel they can do as they like, after all Saraki did it and got away with it. If Saraki gets away unpunished. APC will disintegrate before it even really begins. So he must be expelled. A party without structure and discipline is a dead party. It would have been different if all the senators were there like Dogara. I really don't fault Dogara's victory. But Saraki's victory and desperationis a very very bad omen for the party.

When APC was receiving all and sundry into their folds; saints, sinners and demons, they were celebrating thinking they were getting stronger. Now the guerrillas that have struck from within, there's incredible tension all over with baying mobs on both sides.

If this country was rightly run...
Tinubu would have no impunity to select whoever he prefers. He'd also be in jail for misappropriating funds and strangling of the SW finances.
Saraki would obviously be chilling in prison (yeah, I know so much more about him than the average NL. Think pre EFCC saga and during! )

The bigger picture is that this would complicate processes which the citizens were hoping for. Quests for punitive controls for corruption and smooth anti corruption stance would be greatly affected.
