Re: Why Osinbajo Has Been 'locked Out' Of Buhari’s Security Meetings - Daily Post by brownlord1: 12:50pm On Jun 11, 2015

“The truth is that the military hierarchy would not even feel comfortable saying some things in his presence.

“I can tell you that they respect Prof Osinbajo as VP, but they cannot trust him with information yet.”

Asked if Osinbajo would continue to stay back and watch, the source responded: “He would be brought in but not now.”

“His inner strength, strong heart and ability to keep things to himself will first be put to test before he gets access to some classified materials and information.”

On possibility of politics being a reason why Osinbajo has not been part of the security meetings, the source said such cannot be ruled out.

“We must understand the fact that Osinbajo was a candidate promoted by Bola Tinubu (ex-Lagos Governor), he was not handpicked by Buhari.

“If the President had picked a vice, it is likely that such individual may get the access Osinbajo isn’t getting now.

“Everyone knows the VP has been loyal to Tinubu for decades and he cannot swear that he would not divulge details of these security meetings to his political godfather.

“So he has to earn it. Tinubu may have used his influence to put him in this position but he must draw a line between blind loyalty and national duty.”

I hope Omenka and Passingshot can stfu and stop accusing the news site that broke this news

Which security meeting did the ghost worker (Sambo) attend?

In this government, there is division of labour, Osinbajo may have been attending to other issues.

You just said MAY right? Where is that assumption from what u just read? Don't forget that one of d manifestos that brought them in office is SECURITY. With his experience in law, he understand how negotiations can be drafted if need be to improve d security situation.

Is that how he's going to perform his 'vice presidency'? By being 'locked out' of important security meetings? I thought he's supposed to be the vice chief security officer of the federal republic of Nigeria?

Ways on how to strengthen our legal system maybe so that corrupt people do not use the law to break the law. Maybe unemployment issues, maybe hosting and meeting with think tanks, the problems in this country are too enormous for everyone to be doing follow follow.

The fear of rejection keeps us indoors and out of sight,
and we are denied recogntition, respect and lose the sense of pride that might have come if we had come out to give it a try.
Sometimes, we watch in unbelief and self indignation,
as those not half as good as we are get drowned in ovation,
for doing their best which is our average, but yet they are the centre of praises and the adulations.
Don't envy them, we are better than them, but they are the best,
they are known by the world,
we are cowards, they are brave,
they have conquered fear,
while we are still the victim of 'harmless' fear.
The time has come for us to step out there and give the world the real action,
we are the best, we know it and we are ready to prove ir, fear can no longer imprison our true position, this is our final decision.

See how 'we are sophisticated' have disgraced themselves. Is there any humiliation bigger than this?

First the Professor chose to serve as junior partner to a drop-out, now the drop-out doesn't even deem the professor good enough. Tinubu, what have you done to the 'sophisticated' people? See your life?

Nigerian issues too plenty for the 2 of them to attend same meeting if it is not absolutely necessary. If and when they lock him out of FEC meeting, only then can you raise an alarm, for now, saTANoids are just trying to create divisions within the rank and file of the presidency, hopefully the actors will be too matured for all these distractions

These are really irrelevant excuses.
So if the President were a complete civilian, he wouldn't have been allowed to such meetings?

I believe the reason for his exclusion is not contained in this silly excuse.
But whatever that is, it had better be for the good of the nation.

It is totally out of place for the VP to be sidelined from a security meeting of such magnitude but again this is what greed and foolisheness does to a people that have decided time and over time to remain and play the second fiddle to the Hausa/Fulani oligarchy .

I rest my case.

Nigerians, we like gist and gossip ehn. Choi! Who in his/her right senses would believe cheap stuff like this? Sometimes and probably many times, the president and Vice-president won't always be together cos of different duties and/or reasons....so what's the big deal? When they meet, they would still brief each other on what's discussed.

See old men like Barcanista and co already rejoicing like primary 1 kids. I keep reiterating the need for us all to be as objective in our thoughts as possible cos at the end of the day, our loyalty is to our country, Nigeria and not to any party or politician.

God Bless Nigeria.

Nothing was hidden it was all spelt out point blank. For now Osinbajo is a stooge and cannot swear that he is in absolute control of his political surroundings. One threat from tinubu and he will spill the beans. And because this is a sensitive security issue a good C in C knows its not one to be tied to politics. Osinbajo has to first prove he can defy the ranks of his godfather for the good of country grin before he is let in.
Its not too much of a big deal.
In all of this Tinubu is failing because he does not really understand times and seasons. There is a time when he can have it all and a time when he must loosen up a bit in order to gain in the future but he was in such a hurry.

In the dark? just because he was not present at the meeting? What about sharing or comparing notes? Na wa o, we are in a digital age, people attend meetings all over the world without leaving the comfort of their offices.
