My friend in Uk just helped me to book a hotel with his card right now. I just have some questions to ask regarding this cos am still filling the online form.
1. I want to state my total budget to be 1300GBP.
750 GBP for flight ticket
300GBP for feeding
250GBP for miscellaneous and transportation.
But the hotel my friend booked is on hold, will the embassy verify if the hotel booking is yet to be paid for? if so, that means i will have to state that accommodation is inclusive in the total amount?
Or should i go ahead with my above calculation? that's if they do not verify if the hotel booking is to be paid for.
Your urgent response will be highly appreciated.

Is ur monthly income equal to or above 1300£...from the little I've learnt on this forum a lot of qualified applicants get refused due to excess budgets for the trip. Dis is how I filled my form
hotel 465£ ...
expenses 400£ ..
flight NGN160000

....wen de asked total u av for this trip I filled 865..being d total of accommodation and personal expenses...so maybe u shud fill sumtin dats within ur salary range.i cud be wrong...just adding my 2 kobo

Hello justwise,

Hope you are well? If one was given an indefinite leave to remain in 1989, and later moved back to africa with the family, applied for visa in 2007 and was given 6 months but visted the Uk same year for a period of 5 to 6 weeks due to work.

My question is, is the indefinite leave to remain given in 89 still valid and can be used.

Your urgent advice is needed please.

Many thanks.

No it's not, ILR is valid for 10yrs and within that period the holder can apply for naturalisation or renew after 10yrs.

If it's still valid they wouldn't have given him a visa in 2007 because he doesn't need one to visit the UK.

Yes they can sponsor her and its left for the ECO to make the decision whether that meets visa requirements or not.

In most cases they do verify such booking, your budget has to include accommodation cost.

Hello Justwise,

I applied using information from the website and you helped personally,

i am grateful for this although the application was refused today.

I applied online on the 18th of may and submitted on the 21st of may and recieved the package today at the VI centre,

PLease find attached the refusal letter, I am not discouraged and willing to try again.

My question now is how soon can i reapply without seeming desperate, my leave is in august.
Do i use the same set of documents i tendered when applying the first tim/

i have read through the reasons for refusal and the points that the ECO raised for refusal.
It all points to insufficient funds/money lodgement.
My GTB account is my savings and salary account. as a worker in church sometimes i get cash which i have paid into my account on three or four occassions.

ECO Highlighted five lodgements but stated just four.
26/03/15 - My boyfriend was expecting 350k from a gtb account and he told the person to transfer it to me. I transfered the exact same amount to his own skye account the next day 27/03/15.
31/05/15 - May has just 30 days. i could not have recieved any money on the 31st. The only money i recieved apart from my salary in the month of may was on the 05/05 the sum of 50k from my boyfriend and he gave it to me for my MSC grad as a gift. from the same skye account i transfered the 350k to.
02/04/15- I payed in 90k into my account cash deposit --- This money is for food in church for an event which i later transfered to the food vendor on the 02 June.
20/04/15 - I payed in 95k into my account cash deposit ---- This money is for food in church for an event which i later transfered 100k to the food vendor on the 01st June. The 5K extra was my personal contribution to the event.

Every other money in the account belongs to me, I did not lodge monies. there are other inflows of 20k 40 k and so on. But even this ones highlighted does not form the bulk of my finances.

As of today that i got the refusal, i have paid out all monies except for another 50k in my possession which belongs to church and have a balance of 1. 53k.

Maybe i overbudgeted for the trip, i will find a way to cut this down in my next application.

i have been very honest with you and gicen you a breakdown so you can advise administratively and tell me how to go about my next application. Please find attached a scanned copy pf the refusal letter.

Thank you as i look forward to your response.

Sorry for your refusal. My advise to applicants for UK visa to make use of the additional information space provided on the application form to explain any issues (document), that might lead to a refusal. If you had provided the above explanations, in you application, the EO, would have understood, where those lodgement come from. Most applicants should understand that the decision of the EO are largely based on the documents you submit to support your application. Most refusal are based on applicants giving the EO reasons to be suspicious of their travel intentions. I learn this from my 2 earlier refusals in 2007 and 2011. Since then, I have successful, gotten two 6 months and two 2 years making it 4 successes in a row. In all my application I make use of this additional information spaces, and even enclosed further explaination on a sheet of paper documenting my bank details, previous visit to UK and other countries with an assurances that I will return back to Nigeria as I had previously done from my visit. The rule is to provide all pieces of documents with full explanations to support your application. You can reapply and address the concerned raise and revised your budget to be not more that 1000 pounds, which will be just flight tickets and shopping fund, since your aunt will provide accommodation and feeding.

As you explained the sources of the cash lodgement, do a letter to the EO, addressing the issues raised by the EO on your bank statement point by point. Emphasis that as a Minister of Religion (aka church worker), you sometime also received apart from your salary, cash gift from persons that had benefited from your spiritual counseling that are paid into your account. The EO would be interested to know how you have built up a bank balance of over 1 million given the salary you earn as a church worker. Good luck.

Hello,

no my job isnt as a church worker. that one is voluntary and i dont get paud for it.

i work in a private firm whose credit alert on my bank account reveals their name,

the church monies with me are usually paid out once the event is approcaching.

the over 1m in my account is disposable income after i have spent on living costs. i am single and have no major responsibility.

you are so funny, I dont do spiritual counselling o

thanks

From my organisation as the allowances I am entitled to, or estacode if i may call it that. may I also add that at the end of the month, my salary and other allowances amounting to about N500k will be paid into my salary account, leaving a balance of about 1.6m.

The plan is to apply in July.

Thank you.

Ok that makes sense now but its important that you explain this in your application form so as not to leave any room for suspicion.

Yea. I did... and I applied jointly with my fiancée with me as sponsor.

One thing I realized is the space provided for additional info is key for every application that is not clear cut.

Also, travel history and reason for traveling is really key.

Goodluck to all other applicants.

am staying for six days... visiting a cousin for graduation

I am a business owner without any specific income with big cash lodgement's at irregular intervals

i specified my total budget for the trip to be 1750 pounds = 550,00 naira total amount in account aprx 1million

flight n train = 295k

hotel =185k

feeding = 70k 292pounds
