Hello justwise, Hope you are well? If one was given an indefinite leave to remain in 1989, and later moved back to africa with the family, applied for visa in 2007 and was given 6 months but visted the Uk same year for a period of 5 to 6 weeks due to work. My question is, is the indefinite leave to remain given in 89 still valid and can be used. Your urgent advice is needed please. Many thanks. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 4:15pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
princessmoi: No it's not, ILR is valid for 10yrs and within that period the holder can apply for naturalisation or renew after 10yrs. If it's still valid they wouldn't have given him a visa in 2007 because he doesn't need one to visit the UK. |

Chiichii2010: Yes they can sponsor her and its left for the ECO to make the decision whether that meets visa requirements or not. |

urch999: In most cases they do verify such booking, your budget has to include accommodation cost. |

ancestorial: Your brother should not bother about that rather he should concentrate on meeting visa requirements and be honest with his application |

Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by ekpotek: 10:21pm On Jun 11, 2015 |
eniayooke: Sorry for your refusal. My advise to applicants for UK visa to make use of the additional information space provided on the application form to explain any issues (document), that might lead to a refusal. If you had provided the above explanations, in you application, the EO, would have understood, where those lodgement come from. Most applicants should understand that the decision of the EO are largely based on the documents you submit to support your application. Most refusal are based on applicants giving the EO reasons to be suspicious of their travel intentions. I learn this from my 2 earlier refusals in 2007 and 2011. Since then, I have successful, gotten two 6 months and two 2 years making it 4 successes in a row. In all my application I make use of this additional information spaces, and even enclosed further explaination on a sheet of paper documenting my bank details, previous visit to UK and other countries with an assurances that I will return back to Nigeria as I had previously done from my visit. The rule is to provide all pieces of documents with full explanations to support your application. You can reapply and address the concerned raise and revised your budget to be not more that 1000 pounds, which will be just flight tickets and shopping fund, since your aunt will provide accommodation and feeding. 2 Likes 2 Shares |

Missdodo: The money was lodged into your account from where? |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by ekpotek: 11:06am On Jun 12, 2015 |
eniayooke: As you explained the sources of the cash lodgement, do a letter to the EO, addressing the issues raised by the EO on your bank statement point by point. Emphasis that as a Minister of Religion (aka church worker), you sometime also received apart from your salary, cash gift from persons that had benefited from your spiritual counseling that are paid into your account. The EO would be interested to know how you have built up a bank balance of over 1 million given the salary you earn as a church worker. Good luck. |

Hello, no my job isnt as a church worker. that one is voluntary and i dont get paud for it. i work in a private firm whose credit alert on my bank account reveals their name, the church monies with me are usually paid out once the event is approcaching. the over 1m in my account is disposable income after i have spent on living costs. i am single and have no major responsibility. you are so funny, I dont do spiritual counselling o thanks ekpotek: |

justwise: From my organisation as the allowances I am entitled to, or estacode if i may call it that. may I also add that at the end of the month, my salary and other allowances amounting to about N500k will be paid into my salary account, leaving a balance of about 1.6m. The plan is to apply in July. Thank you. |
Re: General UK Visa Enquiries - Part 2 by justwise(m): 11:56am On Jun 12, 2015 |
Missdodo: Ok that makes sense now but its important that you explain this in your application form so as not to leave any room for suspicion. |

gaskinachi: Yea. I did... and I applied jointly with my fiancée with me as sponsor. One thing I realized is the space provided for additional info is key for every application that is not clear cut. Also, travel history and reason for traveling is really key. Goodluck to all other applicants. 1 Like |
